  1. I'm confused, do you not think that's his name? (Tbf it's not, it's a double-G at the end)
  2. I'm very calm, you seem awfully angry though that I'm ruining your weird little game, the one there are more important issues going on than. Maybe don't waste yours and others time on it if that's the case?
  3. Just for the benefit of anyone who isn't familiar with this poster, he likes to make shit like this up during transfer windows for some weird personal amusement. Don't bite.
  4. I think those are slots for signings within a season, rather than players within a squad, so I would imagine once they're used they're gone. Next season the figure will reset (and I think it drops to 2 or 3, or less if you haven't given enough minutes to domestic players, whether auto-qualifying for a permit or not). But like you say, if someone knows for sure that's better... You'd think our erstwhile local rag reporter would have looked into it and mentioned it somewhere...
  5. https://www.transferroom.com/gbe#calculator Keep in mind I think (might have been another one) I used it before for a while and then it stopped me using it without registering, so maybe don't go nuts with it, but I think different browsers and incognito mode should get around it. Also this article seems to say Tronstad auto qualified but the new rules are how we signed Siggy: https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/23634717.latest-transfer-links-shows-blackburn-rovers-casing-net-wide/
  6. The player in question btw, Fabien Centonze, gets 18 points on the calculator so he passes automatically.
  7. Telalovic, knew I was forgetting some bugger. Easy enough in his case though... McGuire seems to have 12 points on the calculator thing, so he wouldn't qualify automatically but would be eligible to be considered by a panel. If we didn't take it to a panel I'm not sure what that would mean for the exemptions, but I assume he would count as a slot. And there isn't really time for the panel thing, unless we are allowed to sign him in principle til that's concluded with the understanding that we use a slot if not...but probably not the case and by then we would know whether we had any slots free. Like I say though, I'm sure Siggy didn't need an exemption and I don't think Tronstad did (a Norway cap and European football). So we should have at least one, probably two slots free.
  8. Time to remind everyone (for probably about the 6th or 7th time) that all Gregg said was that he made sure O'Brien had something to eat. He never said 'slap up meal' or 'nice food', or anything about going to a fancy restaurant, or anything of the sort. That's a Chinese whisper that seems to have originated on this board and become some sort of Mandela Effect. It could very easily mean he got Billy the Bootboy to grab a few sandwiches from round the corner or got some Chinese delivered.
  9. Yep. We get 4 this season. Our foreign recruits were Leo, Siggy and Tronstad, and I remember one or two of them qualified anyway. Just not which ones...I think Siggy because of his caps and European competition, and I think it was Tronstad too. (I'm not forgetting a foreign recruit am I?)
  10. If that's the case, his agent has seriously underestimated our eagerness to make a quick buck on a sale.
  11. Hasn't been on the last day of January for a while now if memory serves. At least 3 years I think? I'm sure it was on the 2nd Feb once.
  12. O'Brien was in Manchester on deadline day, not the day before. You'd think that, combined with lessons hopefully learned, would mean we shouldn't repeat that here.
  13. Gent is doing well there, so that makes sense. I don't really hold out much hope for Vale making it here, he seems too lazy and limited. But if he has a good loan we may be able to attract a small fee.
  14. That's only a risk if the player doesn't want to come or would prefer to move to the other clubs. If you put an option in the loan deal to buy then you contractually have first dibs and can't be gazumped on the transfer fee. I think these deals usually involve the player signing up to his potential terms when the loan commences too, but I dunno if it's common/possible for the player to be obliged to sign permanently if the club exercises the option.
  15. Whilst that would be very exciting, it would land us right in FFP mire. You do have to consider wages, signing on fees, agent fees, etc. And not just within the 3 years of a single FFP cycle if we sign people on more than 3 year deals. We also can't really spend the Raya money until we get it. And I don't know if you're suggesting spending all of that now, but spunking £15 million in the January window is a bad idea. Whether we like it or not, quite a bit of whatever we have free to spend actually should be kept til summer (at a rational club anyway...granted if we 'keep the powder dry' at this club it tends to mean the powder gets snorted).
  16. Google Translate says... Blackburn has made an offer to Viking for David Brekalo. A loan with an option to purchase of between NOK 30 and 40 million. The clubs may have to reach an agreement on a permanent transfer for there to be an agreement. Orlando's bid is still on the table.
  17. Scott Banks, who was on loan there last season? Currently on loan to St Pauli in the German second tier.
  18. Any goalkeepers in these twitter rumours?
  19. Still hoping someone like Chelsea is going to jump in and gazump Palace with a better offer, though it's looking increasingly unlikely. That said, I guess it would only slow things down and reduce our ability to reinvest a (tiny, probably) bit of the funds with so little time left in the window. They'd likely only bid a bit more anyway, to kick Palace out of the bidding, as they know what we'll accept. Guess the main advantage if it did happen (looks like it won't) would be that Chelsea would likely loan him back to us.
  20. His family have two professional footballers, not just one. I reckon they're fine.
  21. Since he seems to be valued at 2.5 million, I think I know precisely why interest died off last window.
  22. Bournemouth did it to us...we wanted Dembele to replace Rothwell, then they signed Dembele. Of course, they didn't get Rothwell in that window. I don't think that was why though, sounded like Venkys had already kiboshed it before they got Dembele.
  23. As I said earlier, the manager was asking for another CB in the summer after we got Hill. Since then, Hill has left (O'Riordan probably the replacement), Carter has got an injury (I'd say McFadzean is to replace him for now since it's a short term deal), so the manager would still want one more. Whether he gets that of course is up to GB and the money men. But I can see it.
  24. Perfect! Just what we need, Pears and Wahlstedt won't want to make any mistakes with him on the pitch!
