  1. When you are on a wretched run like Birmingham, the last 3 pressured games of the season (one of them away at your arch rivals) is a tough ask for any new manager, so who knows there may not be the fabled 'bounce'.

Saying that though they only need one win and we won't be catching them.

  2. All of it is down to the last 7 years. And of course Blackburn Rovers are more of a name than Chesterbloodyfield, however I'm looking at it purely on income.

Though we do contiue to pay big wages, so though we probably have a similar income to Barnsley, I would bet our wage bill is far higher- so in that sense we will perhaps be 'a draw' to players.

Whatever gates we end up getting will be more to do with their 7 years+ of horrific mismanagement than a reflection of club size.

Of course it is, but 'true club size' is just an abstract concept and doesn't provide an income.

We will end up on Chesterfield sized gates, however a quick glance at their ST prices (up to £500) says we will actually be bringing in less revenue, with a gargantuan debt on top.

    Total mess.

  4. Wiith crowds of about 5/6000 and no owner input, we will simply be a mid ranking League 1 team.

Just think that through a moment and look at the clubs Venky's have made our peer group...

  5. I just can't get past the nagging feeling that he's been brought in too late.

In normal circumstances, a draw at Norwich? Not the end of the world, we played well by all accounts, the team is improving, however due to the lateness of the change, is it two points that we will rue in May?

There will be bumps along the way with a new appointment, but the right man will get his ideas across over the long run, however there is no margin for error when you are brought in at the end of February.

Owen fecking Coyle! The 'owners' should follow Brian Clough's advise and sack Cheston and whoever else was involved in that disastrous appointment too.

Giving the Clogg another try at weekend, long time since I been and places seem to have overtaken it and left it behind a little.

Went in a few Saturday's back, about 1pm. Was heaving.

I enjoyed it, though there is so much competiton now, can't afford to drop your standards.

I'm not sure how performances under Lambert, particularly towards the end of his stint, could have "boded well for the following season"!

They didn't, towards the end of his stint it was obvious he was going (the fact he hadn't bothered moving out of his hotel was another giveaway).

  8. Well I wasn't actually, I was more impressed with the overall performance, it all boded well for the following season.

The Lambert era was a disappointment, the fella didn't want to be here, but comparing his 5 months with Bowyer's three seasons of failure (who was blessed with better players) is a tad unfair, no?
