I was waiting to see who'd be the first to make Dunn our latest scapegoat after his mis-placed pass today - should have guessed really. Your increasingly hysterical posts on Dunn clearly show you lost all perspective on this some time ago and are now hoping and praying he'll fail so you can stick the boot in. The fact is we won't know whether Dunn was a good signing or not until well into next season. He's been indifferent so far, although he's had some decent games - Bolton away he was our man of the match I thought - and I suspect he'll only get back to peak fitness after he's had a full pre-season behind him. However, even now when he's nowhere near his best he's still a useful squad player to have. Remember that although he cost us points yesterday, he's also provided assists for a few goals this season which have won us points. However, that doesn't fit into Tris's bizarre agenda does it.

Perhaps a better question would be to ask how Rovers are supposed to buy successful players in the first place without putting a release clause in their contract? Perhaps the likes of Bellamy and McCarthy wouldn't have signed for us without one. I hope it's not true as well, but can understand if it is.

My first choice England team, when everyone is fit, would be: Robinson Neville Terry Ferdinand Cole Lennon Hargreaves Gerrard Cole Rooney Owen At the moment though, because of injuries to the likes of Joe Cole and Owen, England have 3 main problems. - They do not have a striker available who is intelligent and sharp enough to play with Rooney. - They don't have anyone good enough to play wide-left. - They are imbalanced in central midfield. So, the first thing I'd do is change the formation. We don't have the players available to play 4-4-2 at the moment so I'd switch to 4-3-3. I'd go for: Robinson Richards Terry Ferdinand Cole Gerrard Hargreaves Lampard Rooney Lennon Davies First of all, we need a target man for the forwards to play off. The only one's I can think of who are currently fit are Davies and Crouch. Ashton would be an option when he's fit as well. Rooney and Lennon would then be able to play a free role behind the target man and do what they are best at - run at defenders. Hargreaves could play the holding role in midfield allowing both Lampard and Gerrard to break forward and do what they are best at. Both full backs would provide the width (my first choice at right-back would still be Neville but Richards will do as a replacement). It's basically the same way that Chelsea play. Unfortunately though, England's players aren't as good as Chelsea's!

Just got the new Arcade Fire album. I was worried it wouldn't live up to the first one but it's a fantastic album. Not as immediate as Funeral but it's a grower. Going to see them at the Apollo tomorrow - can't wait.

Wow. That might be the first post you've made in months Rev that I completely agree with. I remember going to the first league game of the season with a mate, away at Derby, to see Grabbi's league debut. We both couldn't believe Souness had paid £7m for Grabbi. He was useless and got progressively worse. If there's ever been a dodgy transfer in the history of the game that was it.

I agree with both Tris and Thenodrog. I'm clearly still pi55ed from the weekend.

God, if I replied every time someone on here says something I don't agree with I'd never do anything else. Everyone's entitled to their opinions on a player, I couldn't care less whether it agrees with mine or not. What does annoy me though is when people make judgements on player's based on their own prejudicies, rather than what they do on the field. And it's even more annoying when they repeat those judgements on virtually every post they make.

Ok, if we're getting personal, let's have a history lesson. For years now you've slagged Neill off, whether he's played well or not. This all stems from your irrational support of Curtis and the fact that Neill, quite rightly, took his place in the team. Just like you have other favourites who, come what may, you continue to support e.g. Gray, anyone under the age of 23, etc. Frankly, I learned to stop trusting your judgement on players a long time ago. Personally, I prefer to judge the players on what they do on the pitch. Neill started off the season poorly, then went on a run of games where he was excellent, and has been no worse than average for the last month or two. He's made the odd mistake that have led to goals, but he's also created, and scored, some goals too. Overall he's worthy of his place in the team and all the recent speculation over his future doesn't seem to have affected his performance, or committment to the team, at all. You're simply making it up.

There's no point comparing Derbyshire's development against other players as everyone's different. Some players are early developers (e.g. Rooney), some aren't. It's looks to me like Derbyshire still has some filling out to do before anyone can claim he's fully developed. That said, I'm still not sure he's going to make it. He's enthusiastic, reasonably quick, and has a decent touch. He's also got a knack of getting into good positions and finding space in the box. However, I'm not sure he makes the most intelligent runs ever and, so far, his finishing has been suspect. He's not going to trouble too many centre-halves physically either, even when he's filled out. If his finishing was better you could say he was a goalscorer, someone who'll get into good positions and finish things off providing he gets the service. However, to become a player like that in the Premiership he needs to do better than he's done so far. For me, at the moment, he's a useful player to have on the bench. His pace and enthusiasm can have an impact when the game is stretched in the last half hour, but he's not good enough yet imo to start matches.

At the risk of agreeing with SAR I think he's spot on here. Neill's probably realised that Brownie's a gobshite and will post everything he says so has offered him a bit of sugar. It's probably also worth noting that Brownie hasn't exactly got a perfect record of posting the "truth" on here. However, perhaps I've been unfair and maybe Brownie did accurately report what Lucas said. I find it hard to believe that Neill hasn't been offered a better deal. I find it very easy to believe that Rovers don't want to negotiate with his agent. Perhaps if Neill changed agents he'd do better. Either way, it wouldn't surprise me at all if we kept Neill until the summer - which is what I think we should do anyway.

Mokoena did well yesterday and helped to protect our early lead as much as anyone. Derbyshire played ok, scored a good poacher's goal, but would still be behind our more senior strikers in the pecking order if it was up to me. He's promising though.

Just rubbish and completely in your mind. He may have misplaced a few passes but his overall game was fine and he looked just as committed as anyone out there.

He didn't look fat at all, in fact I thought he looked quite trim. Time will tell but I'd be delighted to have him back.
