  1. Massive game. One win from our 1st visit to the new Wembley. Tickets on sale on Wednesday. The footballing authorities have made it more difficult for 5000 Rovers' fans to get there, but the club have made a generous offer of discounted coach travel, se be there we will! Was it March '93 that a young Jason Wilcox was selected to take the 1st penalty in the shoot out following a 2 - 2 draw at Brammall Lane in the cup quarter final? Took me years to get over that decision, in fact I'm still not over it 🤣
  2. Good post. So, there is no way of getting to the quarter final on public transport. Sure the FA'S sustainability policy will be fully in line with that. The inevitable clause stating that sustainability concerns should only apply when financial and TV priorities allow, should get them off the hook on this one. If there is a train strike on the Saturday, there may be no quarter final game where fans can get home via public transport. Fulham fans may be able to get back to London, but not to south London. I'm sure this will be noticed and mentioned, but there is a good chance there wasn't a single mention of this in the planning of the fixtures. Pitiful. And it WILL have some impact on the away teams' chances of progression. Please could someone start a Quarter Final thread. Cheers.
  3. My prediction is that if he plays the team that won on Tues, we will play well for 90 min. If we replace Morton with Buckley, and bring in JRC, we will also play well for 90 min. If we bring in Thomas or Diaz, my prediction is that we will play less well. It's about shape, and energy. Sure I'll be reminded of this at 2.30.... 100% commitment for 90 min, and we'll be fine. COYB !
  4. The difference being that we have played much, much better since we lost our 'better' players....no senior players have been rested. Just like after the Fulham debacle last season, when TM accidentally found the perfect winning formula, I think the same thing has happened for JDT following the loss of Dack and Diaz. Whereas TM didn't look the gift horse in the mouth, I worry that JDT will stubbornly return to the Diaz/Gally on the wing tactics, which I guarantee, will fail. If he does that, I believe that it will be another catastrophic decision, up there with changing the formation against PNE when we had won SIX HOME GAMES IN A ROW.... So, let's reign in the god-like plaudits for the manager until we see the team selection at 11.30 tomorrow. Sounds dramatic but that decision will be pivotal in terms of our promotion chances. I'm nervous. COY mighty B ! ! !
  5. Apologies for getting back to tomorrow's game but the Diaz position is a tough one. He undoubtedly needs a rest, mentally and physically, as he hasn't played well since October and, for me, didn't justify his place. In addition to that, I really don't think we can play like we did on Tuesday with BB in his usual position. It just does not work. If he plays in Gally's position, it might work, and I'd back him to score at least one of those sitters. I'd leave him on the bench for a week or two, and let him get angry. Nice problem to have. Whodathoughtit??? 🥳
  6. What this ongoing discussion highlights is that we just need someone, anyone, to score one in three simple chances, just hit the bloody target. Tuesday highlighted that more than ever. Hopefully Gally and SS will now have the confidence to support TD in the scoring stages. For me this is all we are now missing, now we have Diaz as our secret super-sub...
  7. 'Blackburn have kindly advised that a limited amount of tickets are available to purchase on the day. Prices do not increase. 3,355 tickets have been sold. We have been allocated 4,073 tickets, a further allocation maybe available if necessary'. So, a decent following. May be 4000 if a few decide to go tonight in the pub, which we did sooo many times back in the day... Good atmosphere likely, when we wake up around 1pm. Few hundred, or more?, tickets sold since Tuesday night, Blackburn End rammed, except rainy front rows... We will also have a few hundred buying in the morn after drunken decision making. I hope. Then the next game is a guaranteed 14000+ home fans as it's a tenner a ticket, all areas... C O Y B !
  8. Was just about to say that him and the boy that scored against Spurs(and 2 against us!) may be the difference tomorrow, so this news is a real leveller.... COYB!!!!
  9. Been looking forward to a visit to the new Wembley for years. There would be the embarrassment of not selling out for the semi, but hopefully my pessimism on this will be unfounded. Our league form will have a bearing on this...
  10. Yep, I'd based the 5,988 on what Spurs had last night, so need to add the 4,800 caveat. Thought the minimum was more than 15% for FA Cup, shows I'm out of date. If offered, we'll take the 5,988, but suppose it depends how quickly we sell the 4,800....
  11. We'll sell all or most of the 6000 tickets. The result on Sat will have a bearing on how quickly they sell, but they'll sell...
  12. 5,988 tickets for us at Brammall Lane. They'll sell v quickly, not many on open sale.....
  13. We will have 5,988 tickets for the quarter final. Any thoughts on how many will go on open sale? I assume it will be season ticket holders, then something like away game ticket buyers, incl those travelling to Leicester, then open sale? Apols if this has been discussed.
  14. Ha ha, King Filbert! Well done to you and all who travelled. Did the town proud. It really should've been the BBC1 game...
  15. This was just what we needed to get a thousand or so at least considering getting down to Ewood early doors on Saturday. Much needed as it's stupidly a Cat A game, should've been downgraded as soon as it was moved to 12.30. Tonight's performance has saved Waggot from an embarrassingly small home attendance. Should be 15000+ now....
  16. This. Diaz on the bench til Easter, before the big push....
  17. Someone else said 19, so I may retract the 18 claim, my point stands, tho. There are more deserving targets than Morton.
  18. We must remember Leicester were FA Cup holders this time last year. Truly top result, and performance.
  19. All you returning heroes from Filbert St., we salute you. You were a deafening force of nature throughout ❤⚽️🥳
  20. Crazy times, front page of BBC Sport website..
  21. Morton played well, in a high performing team tonight. He does not deserve any criticism for being 8 out of 10 when all the others were 9 or 10 out of 10.... He is a good 18 yr old player who dipped in form after the world cup. Give him a break.
  22. Looks like the corner is turned. 3 days of shooting practice now.......😀
  23. This is a brilliant post on a brilliant night. Just hope this jubilation translates into a decent crowd on Saturday lunchtime.
  24. So, so proud. Mighty, mighty performance. So, so deserved. The tide has most certainly turned. Or has it? Hopefully, this will persuade 500 more waverers to watch the game at Ewood rather than in the pub. Quality football performances, added to consecutive wins, usually results in bumper home crowds, so bring it on... Just don't go in the JW Upper Central. 30 bloody notes! 😱
  25. How can we possibly have allowed this to happen. This is a purely an emotional reaction, but I can't accept defeat tonight. What an amazing quality performance, on and off the pitch. So proud of being from Blackburn tonight. That hitting the post moment means we have the stars with us tonight. Much deserved! Come on you mighty Blues!
