  1. So what exactly were you expecting? a faultless performance against the best team in the league? he needs time to adapt to the pace of the game and the physical side of premiership football is something he'll not be used to. Give the guy a chance......
  2. It's typical of Rovers fans to slate the new signing, he's just got off the plane and was thrown into the firing line and did a good job. Give the guy a chance for goodness sake.
  3. Was talking to a bloke who drove last year and it took him 3 days to get to Salzburg with a caravan on the back. He said it was a long treck and he'd not even consider it this time around.
  4. I think you've got to take this game in perspective really, flights are not exactly cheap in the main but its an easier trip than say Sofia or Ankara. I'd say 300 tops attended each of those two away fixtures possibly less than that. In my opinion I'd say we'd just about manage to sell 700 tickets for this one, most people I've spoken to are interested in going, a Little like our trip to Lyon many moons ago. I think everyone who fancies going will be able to get a ticket and also I've been with numerous people around Europe watch Rovers and England, many without tickets who have always got in the ground regardless of stadium size. I'd go regardless of having a ticket or not, Europe away with your club side is such a fanatastic experience and you never know, it could be our last.
  5. I've noticed bayern are playing Sparta In Munich on the Tuesday night, maybe worth a look only 1hr 30mins away from Salzburg by train.
  6. I've already said i agree with charging £36 on Wednesday as the away support swells the coffers. But it was interesting to note that the pub before the game was full, but mostly full of people out to watch the game on TV rather than pay £36 to have the privilege. "I can have a few beers, something to eat and pay for a taxi home on £36" was the popular concensus....
  7. As I remember it, Rovers tried that for the Lyon game but had to back down in the end due to lack of interest in the official trip. There isn't usually much interest in the official trips. Usually they're extremely overpriced and have a very badly thought through itinery. (debs not gav, can't be bothered logging out and back in again)
  8. Think you'll find most people are going Wednesday and coming home Friday, we're Tuesday to Friday.
  9. We've booked in here hotel Belmondo £60 a night and in the area we stayed last time which is close to the station and old town We went in O'Mally's last time. By the river just on the edge of the old town (but it was very busy) (Debs not Gav)
  10. I travelled with the club many moons ago and it was ok for convenience, you flew the day before but returned straight after the game which was a nightmare. You can bet it'll be expensive also. I've just been told Ryan air from Stanstead to linz (1hour by train from salz) is £65 return if anyones interested.
  11. We need to find a pub for a meet up for the Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday nights drinking and singing sessions.
  12. Looks nice and tidy, we should create a good atmosphere. Wonder how many will travel? 500 shouldn't be too much to ask.
  13. Where's Waggy? No European trips complete without Waggy...... Salzburg was a great base when we traveled to Munich to watch England. I seem to remember most of our group drinking the local tipple 'Stern' where on another planet by 5pm, powerful stuff. Great place, really picturesque and plenty of bars, but it seemed like the whole place shut at 6pm, we'll change that. Come on!
  14. Tuesday 12th, Blackpool to stanstead.........stanstead to munich Friday 15th, munich to stanstead........stanstead to Blackpool £170 each. Flights from Blackpool £35 with Ryan air then flights to munich with easyjet. Booked
  15. It’s all the same to me, clever s***e It’s the excitement you see
  16. I think flying to Salzburg then getting a train is also an option, Tris used that line on numerous occasions if memory serves me correctly.
  17. Always difficult going to France, the top half of the French league has some good teams.
  18. Went to T in the park last year and stayed in a new travel lodge in Edinburgh just up the road from the ground, £40 a night with breakfast.
  19. I think apart from the Denmark option it’s not a bad draw in terms of hitting us in the pocket. Not want to tempt fate but if we do manage to get through, this trip could have been allot worse on the old wallet.
  20. I know Ryanair fly direct to Salzburg from Stanstead as we used Salzburg as a base before Engalnd/Germanay in Munich, so thats one cheap air option. You can fly from Blackpool to Stanstead rtn for £2, just hope the flight times are helpful should we draw them.
  21. Hopefully going out on the Tuesday and coming back Friday or Saturday depending on flight times and venues.
  22. Thanks in large part to Craig Bellamy's scoring exploits that we've got this opportunity, so thanks Craig. Don't care where it is as long as its sorted out tomorrow and we don't have issues with venue changes etc.
