v Millwall (h) - 20/12/25, k/o 12:30
Gav replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I was talking to a Millwall mate of mine earlier, he was telling me its £38 for him tomorrow, is that right? For a lunchtime kick off, on TV, 200 miles away? If so that is bloody scandalous Rovers... -
His numbers say he is that good Chaddy, ranked 9th in World, we only have 1 player in top 20, Gus Atkinson, which tells its own story. bowling Total wickets 69 Bowling avg 18.17 Maidens 102 Best Figuresvs England 26/12/2021 6/7 (Before Brendon Mccullum took over, nothing like blocking up an end and batting all day eh 🤣)

Australia have 5 of the best bowlers in the world, look at the number of wickets Starc, Cummins, Lyon, Boland and Hazelwood have taken. We have Archer, who is world class on his day, our 2nd highest wicket taker is Joe Root, let that sink in! All the populist nonsense about us being 'under cooked', not enough warm up games etc is rubbish, our real issue is this current crop of players, career wise, have not had enough cricket in Australian conditions. To add to that, I think it was K-Hod who initially called this out and he's spot on, if you don't take catches you don't win matches. I would concur and no amount of warm up games helps with getting the very basics right. Lets face it, in Australian conditions, we are a long way behind this current Aussie team, especially with the ball, its that simple.

BBG Sports, the company that owns Snicko, has accepted culpability for the mistake. "Given that Alex Carey admitted he had hit the ball in question, the only conclusion that can be drawn from this, is that the Snicko operator at the time must have selected the incorrect stump mic for audio processing," BBG told BBC Sport. "In light of this, BBG Sports takes full responsibility for the error."

I went to see Richard Hawley tonight at Sheffield City Hall. A more humble, down to earth chap you’re never likely to meet, he can hold a tune and play a guitar too! I wasn’t aware his god father was Joe Cocker. Richard said Joe never hung around the house due to music, but because he fancied his mum and fit radiators with his dad for the gas board 🤣 But he did say his dad introduced Joe to his first Ray Charles record and the rest is history Superb evening

One of my favourite goals from 1970’s, Leeds Peter Lorimer:
-
He’s just another in a long line of lambs to the slaughter VI, I’m sure he’s doing the best he can. I’ve been saying for many years now, we could bring Guardiola in and the owners and the acolytes would find a way to bollox it up. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS Safe trip home everyone.
-
Why you on here then? Maybe stick to moaning about our result today and let me enjoy that shower getting spanked in a 6 pointer at home 👍
-
Maybe the rivalry hasn’t reached St Helens, or what it means, but that lot losing, losing well, gives me immense pleasure, regardless of the shit show at Ewood.

I just heard a mouse piss on cotton at the morgue, empty seats all over the place, looks like the Premiership dreams is heading for 7 losses on the bounce 🤞

It doesn’t seem that long ago (80’s) that the promotion places were between Oxford, Portsmouth and Rovers. We had some good battles with them both, but we never made it into Div 1 during that period. 1-1 draw today, safe trip to all the fans making the trip.

Today’s football pundits are pussycats compared to the pundits of old, even this is tame:

Valérien Ismaël: Blackburn Rovers Head Coach
Gav replied to DE.'s topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He’s gone up in my estimations, slightly. To be honest though, he’s a victim just as we are, only difference is he’s being paid and thinks he can make a difference. VENKYS OUT - NOTHING ELSE MATTERS -

I don’t think the locals were very happy 🤣 Its the same at Ibrox make no mistake, but still this made me laugh:

Been drinking at the bar of popular opinion Tyrone? That isn't like you I must say. If memory serves me correctly, we'd won one test match in 17 before McCullum/Stokes and Key took charge. Now we've won something like 23 and lost around 11 (Don't quote me on those numbers, I'm guessing). But what a ride that has been, some of the best test match cricket in living memory, its been fantastic. That doesn't mean they're above criticism though, as I very clearly posted on the last page. This is a team that dazzles and frustrates with little in between, and sometimes does both at the same time. Its been amatuerish at best in this series, a series that matters above all else, but thats cricket....Lets hope we can salvage something during the rest of the series.
-
Why the hell isn’t Stokes bringing the field in on ball 4/5 to keep the number 9 on strike? Amateur hour.

Those games against Villa late 70’s, Coventry early 80’, Live on BBC 84/85 against Southampton and Man Utd will all go down as some of the best memories of FA Cup for me. I still love the competition, even though it’s been decimated by the bigger clubs and FA!

I've been one of the biggest supporters of the current regime, they've taken English cricket to another level, a winning level and I've loved almost every minute of it. But the catching has been abysmal throughout this tenure, something you can practice till the cows come home, which I’m sure they do, but dropping that many catches could well have lost us this test and ashes. I'm sure the ball will come into question and under lights, but its not just this test. Not good enough Stokes/McCullum.
-
Wow - 5 minutes of subline to ridiculous cricket! We could have had 3wkts in 3 balls, we have 2! Come on England.
-
You can’t give them chances Jamie Smith, great delivery by Archer. Aussies playing Bazball here, flying along after a slow start.
-
I'd still be in if I was Captain, I'd never have run that bloody single! But yes, I’ve had a ‘mare’ on the declaration.......I hope Archer bowls as well as he's batting!
