  1. I must say I don’t understand how this alleged ~250K figure is worked out, or how Elliott ended up going for more, or how the standard of your lawyer can determine what the final figure is.
  2. The Spurs contract that Phillips is being offered is enough to set his family up for life and there’s a bit of pressure on him to do that. Plus, I assume he believes he’s good enough to break through at any club.
  3. I assume you can work out what a player is valued at you from Joe’s earlier link, but I haven’t got time to check.
  4. Have you any idea where this ~250K comes from? I asked why Harvey Elliott was so much from Fulham to Liverpool and haven’t been told why this is any different.
  5. That’s the figure I was told, only relying it, I don’t know where it comes from.
  6. Does he have to start, or does that work for subs as well? It’s Ash’s decision from what I was told this morning, not necessarily his agent like previously predicted. Spurs deal sets his family up for life at 17.
  7. FYI Rovers are expecting if he leaves at the end of the season to receive circa 250K from Spurs, but that would increase for every game he plays for us before he leaves. It’s likely we will SELL him this window and that fee will be a couple of million.
  8. It’s the opening of the negotiations though, you’d expect conversations to continue
  9. Back to the game, does BBD play?
  10. 8.4M is insulting, but he will go this window I don’t doubt it. I’m sure we have replacements lined up, don’t panic. As a side note I’m getting bored senseless of Radio Lancashire and the Telegraph keep asking JDT about signings. It’s the same answer every time - when will they realise that Greg buys them and JDT coaches them?
  11. It wouldn’t surprise me if he did Aus or MLS. Clubs over there will lap up signing a player from United, he would get blue skies and a good wage.
  12. I think Phil has grown accustomed to the finer things, I can’t see him coming back here. Sadly, because I’d like to think if I was a pro footballer I’d make sure I finished my career at Rovers whilst I was still capable.
  13. He gets 14 points on the work permit calculator thing that Joe posted. 15 is the minimum limit, but they might be able to go to ‘exceptions’ whatever that means.
  14. Captain Travis has picked the pre and post match music this season!
  15. One for @StubbsUKi suspect
  16. No matter what happens here, they’ve shown heart and my god are they fitter this year.
  17. I suspect I’ll be telling the Ben Brereton Diaz story for years to come. What a player he’s turned out to be.
  18. Wharton has a niggle. Tweaked in the cup, then again in training. Phillips has done training to be in the first 11.
  19. One things for sure, I liked that Nyambe could fill in at centre back. That was especially useful. Imagine if Scott Wharton had picked up a knock in training, say yesterday, and we only had Ayala fit to play centre back for a clash with WBA?
  20. It’s a game of opinions isn’t it! I’ve seen Brittain play twice for us and probably a couple of times for Barnsley. He never especially stood out against Barnsley, but has played well in his two games for us. Not exceptionally, but well. My judgement so far - which is reserve the right to change later - is if we’re playing four at the back then Nyambe was more suited. If we’re playing a wing back then Brittain looks more suited. Nobody knows the numbers, so all of this is based on them both costing the same.
  21. Agreed, Haaland captain on FPL. Over KDB. No pressure…
  22. Some superb shirts in there. I’d happily wear a few of them!
  23. I’m in the opposite camp. Sell Breo, give JDT 12 months to assess the squad and the youngsters, then give JDT and GB 12 months to fill in the easy gaps, then in year three throw the kitchen sink at it.
  24. Do they still have all their big lads? We played them a couple of years (?) ago and it looked like there wasn’t a player in their side under 6 ft 4 and 15 stone. Their central midfielder scored a belting volley from about 25 yards. They where miles better than us then.
  25. Very very early doors gents. The first 11 is good, but I think if you had the squad in front of you, you’d say we’re a few injuries or suspensions away from trouble in: Keeper - Kaminski great, the rest poor Right Back - Brittain great, the rest poor Centre Back - Ayala great, Wharton good, Carter unproven but potential. Left Back - Pickering good enough, Edun I’m still not convinced Central Midfield - Trav and Bucko are great, Morton could be good. Attackers - covered Strikers - not convinced by Gallagher or Vale We can’t have a good backup for every position, obviously. But I’d worry especially if we got long term injuries to Kaminski, Brittain, Ayala, Pickering, Travis or Buckley… and we would still need a striker on top.
