    Not against pulling out of SVB, especially with the emergence of Phillips. Here’s how I see it, in preference order: GK: Kaminski, Pears RB: Brittain, Carter CB: Ayala, Wharton, Hyam, Carter, Phillips LB: Pickering, Edun CM: Travis, Morton, Buckley, Wharton CAM: Dack, Szmordics LW: Hedges, Dolan RW: Markanday ST: Gallagher, Vale I’m assuming Brereton will go. I refuse to let JRC be included as a viable option. Butterworth must leave. Vale only just scrapes in. If the above is correct, we need: First choice Striker First choice Forward / Winger Central Midfielder - not a playmaker, someone with bite Reserve Right Back

    I’m not sure where you’ve got this from, but it sounds on the website as if we tried for him early and where told no. Then they came back to us last week and said he was now available. So we turned it around in maximum 5 working days.

    He’s played at a good standard and been signed by some good teams before so there’s something there. I doubt it would happen, there’s probably plenty more ahead of him on the list, including that Malmo winger. Still, #OneOfOurOwn and would get instant support.

    Some very odd Stoke fans yesterday as well. 20-25 of them walking down Bolton Road pre-game singing the incredibly inventive song: “go on Stoke, go on Stoke”, the slightly odd “you can stick your fucking horses up your arse” to the police and the confused “where’s the Blackburn suicide?” to families walking down to the game, trying to provoke a punch up. They also jumped the barriers and tried to get into the Jack Walker lower when they scored. Very very odd.

    Ayala and Wharton my combined MOTM, both with 9/10. JRC got a 3/10. Buckley a 4/10.

    I don’t think we need two centre backs. I trust Ayala, Phillips and Wharton and think Carter deserves his chance. I’ve no idea where we are playing them all.

    Almost every season there’s one team from an entire league that qualifies and fails to make it out the group. Usually they get battered every game. Caulker plays for the equivalent of Crystal Palace in that league, on loan from Fenebache who are a top four side that haven’t battled for the league in a while now (or at least, it feels like it). He hasn’t even played a game for Fenebache according to Wikipedia. I don’t know too much about him, because he never stood out, but what I do know is the quality of the league is overall very poor. Someone will come and show a YouTube video with some XG that says he’s good… but I’m putting it on record that he plays for a mid table team, in a very poor League that bar the top two or three teams, where (when I used to watch weekly) lower Championship / League One standard.

    As it happens I’ve watched a little bit, I spent 18 months editing highlights of the Turkish league for DAZN. Trust me; they’re shite.
