Kenny and Souness business was as shrewd as mowbray's. They didn't spend absolute millions on players. Souness inherited an underperforming Dunn and jansen and turned them into stars. He also brought in the likes of friedel on a free loaned in berkovic. Spent a few hundred grand on the likes of byornabye. He turned rovers around in less than a season and a half

Any normal club second in the league would push the boat out. Not spend a few hundred grand on players with potential or average to middling players. U really think that rovers or Mowbray plan anything? This season after the Fulham game has been based as much as stumbling onto a lucky formula than any plan. Things could easily have panned out the other way fighting relegation. Have u heard of the saying strike while the iron is hot? Rovers will probably never get this chance again. I doubt Mowbray has the foresight to muster another promotion challenge next season if things don't pan out.
