  1. I think that Waggot has to take huge blame regarding this team and it’s performances. He took about 10 times longer than any other ceo to appoint a manager and would still be deciding if Broughton hadn’t come in to force his hand. Absolute amateur hour.
The consequence of such dilly dallying was that there was insufficient time to assess the squad and decide who to bring in, resulting in very poor decisions.
He also allowed the recruitment team to be depleted and not replaced quickly enough so that the new management team were left ill prepared to make the informed recruitment decisions needed.
JDT meanwhile refuses to acknowledge that his style of play does not suit the scant squad at his disposal. By now he should be up to speed as the requirements needed to be successful in the EFL, but apparently not. Unfortunately I can only see any recruitment in this window as exasperating the situation. He needs to wise up, and quickly otherwise we will go into a TM style death spiral very soon. It will be deja vu again.

Cantwell is not what we need. Would want to play from the left and isnt particularly fast. Plus hes not done anything for a while to justify his early promise. 2m is a lot of money to spend on him too.

If it’s a case of spending money then I would rather it was used for Hugo Vetlsen, if it’s a possibility, rather than on Cantwell. I think once a bad attitude has set in or the mojo has been lost it very rarely comes back. Eg Dele Ali.

Travis has regressed badly and it's not just recently. I wonder if it is at least partly due to injuries and being overplayed when not fit in the past. There was a time that he looked destined for the Premier League.

This season, all the CMs, have been inconsistent with Morton and Travis struggling more recently, Buckley being dropped out of the squad. Garrett and Wharton haven't played that many games, so hard to judge. I wonder whether they're struggling to get to grips with JDT's tactics, in part, which, as far as I get, is a minimal touch - one or two touch, expectation.

We desperately need an experienced tough tackler who is comfortable on the ball.

Surprised this news hasn't had more reaction, by far the greatest player of all time for me.

I think it's pointless trying to compare one generation with another as there's absolutely nothing to say that stars  of the past such as Pele or say George Best wouldn't still have been the best around in today's game given the advances in diet, equipment technology, pitches, training methods etc available now.

I'm wouldn't argue with anyone who said Messi was the GOAT but I'm sticking with Pele. I think he gets a raw deal through many people not being old enough to have seen him play and the footage of him being so limited. Following the 1970 World Cup I remember aged 6 trailing my Dad round the sports shops in town trying to find a Brazil shirt. A fruitless task - no such thing as replica kits in those days - how times change!

Also enjoyed his cameo appearance in the Mike Bassett film. For anyone who doesn't know a great deal about his career or the sort of man he was I'd heartily recommend his autobiography "Pele - my Life and the Beautiful Game".

    RIP.

I have a signed copy of his book. He gave to to my father- in-law Ken Furphy and signed it “to my friend, Pele”. Ken managed him when he played for New York Cosmos in the 1970’s

Agree with this Travis is one of those who is only good at one job but when he's in his groove he's very good at it.  When he first broke through he looked like an all action midfielder who liked to get forwards but that didn't suit Mowbray. They then tried to turn him into a Corry Evans but he was never going to suit that role.

Come a few months into last season and we see a more in your face style for a few months and he was excellent finally in his element.  Now when he plays with Mortan not only is he struggling with JDTs possession on the edge of our own box style he also at times is trying to do the graft of two men in there.

We really struggled when TM tried playing a possession based game. Only when we mixed it up and played more direct, as we did last year, did we do better. We don’t have the players for it. We are just playing ourselves into trouble a lot. Pep Guardiola has a lot to answer for.

    Poor poor half.

All the passing at the back are so unconvincing. Players are so nervous knocking passes around and inviting so much pressure.

JRC, Buckley are so off the pace. Dack hasn't been convincing either. Ben is trying but nothing is working out for him at the moment. Dolan's done nothing since he came on. Ayala's probably the best Rovers player at the moment. Kaminski had a couple of good saves too, although he did gave a poor pass away.

We are so flat at the moment while Stoke are very organised without a manager. Hard to where we are getting a goal from. Worrying.

Philips only passes sideways to JRC or Ayala so it comes down to Ayala to pass through the lines which he is not very good at. It limits our ability to pass quickly and effectively out of defence.

This is the crux of the matter. I know you're loath to believe it but I'm fairly certain we have a decent budget available for transfer fees now irrespective of a BBD sale but still  can't seem to get players in.

Unless we look at the wage structure we won't be able to spend any monies received for BBD on anyone half decent either.

I think our hands are tied due to the new rules for ffp coming in next season. Phili says we are limited to salaries being 90%, presumably that means 90% of turnover which will be incredibly hard to achieve unless our revenue grows substantially.
