£2m for Gally then we must take it. Gally out and Phillips and Yates in would be very good business. We're actually on the verge of having a decent window and ending up stronger than at the beginning of the window.
Still, we all know no signing is guaranteed until it's announced on the Rovers website. We know that only too well from last Jan.
We desperately need a winger, like Rak Saki, to get behind defences when teams come and “park the bus”. A good winger with pace who will drag defenders out of their shape and create space for our strikers to score.

From his videos his second touch is always a tackle just like Gallagher.

Watching the highlights from Plymouths games last year...if our scouts thought Ennis was the better of Ennis/Whittaker last season that's madness....they got it wrong and now JDT wants him out after half a season...I think he's fuming... Surely JDT wanted Whittaker but got Ennis...
They got Ennis because he was FREE not because they thought he was better.

Btw I wouldn’t be surprised if the AW sale goes through on deadline day evening so that we haven’t time to reinvest and then any funds for transfers are forgotten about come the summer.
it seems that that is what happened when we got decent money for AA.- 2

If we sold AW would we be happy with 20M plus 20% sell on, plus Raj Saki on a permanent deal?

Be a massive shame, highly rated in the academy I think?
Surely seeing how he can progress would be better than £75K when he is supposed to be highly rated.

Although he's more for the future, i'm happy with the signing of O'Riordan.
I've read some of the Crewe fan's reactions, and they pretty much all seem to think we've had their pants down getting him for 500k - pricing him more in the 2m region.
On the other hand, we still desperately need experience... if they're spending that much on a kid, they'd better have more to spend on the more pressing matters - and can expect pelters if not!
Yes but they also thought Pickering would play for England!

We won’t be signing any major players for the squad, only young players we can develop.
This is what Rovers are becoming.
This is the future for Rovers, going forward. Just developing players for other teams and “existing”.
Exciting times ahead, I’m afraid. 😟
Do you get the feeling that Venkies view us like one of their chicken farms? Get them young fatten them up and sell ‘em on. We are like their “farmers”, but developing players instead of chickens. In their eyes we would be self sustaining.
What they don’t understand is their “football business” relies on keeping its customers happy so that they keep coming back for more. But, take away the passion, hope and potential glory and you kill the customer base and you no longer have a business.
Complete numpties!!

Surely there is a tall strong athletic goal scoring left winger at a premier league B team on £500 a week who can also play up front, at centre back, at left back and in goals.. surely?
Absolutely. It’s not much to ask is it. Pull your fingers out recruitment department. 😊

Yes but are their respective managers crap ?
Who will twist and who will stick
If Allardyce & Warnock were appointed to two of the clubs below us , we would be in panic station Zebra ....
Personally, I think the cushion will just keep us up..But it will be scary !
How ironic would it be if they sacked JDT and hired big Sam.

Relegation battle. Every point counts.

Wing backs who don’t cross. We desperately need a winger who can go past his man.
-
Sorba Thomas looking best player on the pitch. Something to prove?

Pickering left his man!!

There’s not a Rovers player who can win a tackle. Too soft.

I actually have liked Jutkewicz as a Championship striker for a few years now. Always causes problems and is something we are lacking. I've often wondered why Burmingham haven't utilised him more over the last few years.
However, never imagined he would be a player we would bring in as its completely against the model and I wouldn't say he's a pressing forward.
He's not renewing at Brum through a lack of starts and I can't see that changing here. He'll get some game time but used from the bench most likely I would have thought.
Can't see it happening personally.
A loan until the end of the season would be useful as an Ennis replacement, but not as a Gallagher replacement.

We have had worse than 'Big Jim'! My God, he could head a ball - who can forget that header at the Blackburn End back in the late sixties against Man City in the FA Cup at Ewood to make it 1-1 in front of 40,000+. I was at the back of the Blackburn End that night and it was a magnificent header and the noise almost blew the feckin roof off.
As for Frank Lord, add Alan Gilliver and Martin Britt to the list to name but two.
I sadly missed that game, much to my regret. If my memory serves me well, the original game (which I had a ticket for) was called off and that was the rearranged game which I couldn’t attend. I missed an amazing game apparently. Jim was a cart horse, but was an absolute beast in the air so strong and solid that nobody could knock him off the ball. When he took a run up at corners players got knocked out of the way like 9 pins. Why do modern players not take long run ups at corners? You get so much better height to your jump and it’s more difficult to be marked.

sigh, this club is exhausting, has been for a long long time. My enthusiasm for football has drained considerably.
thing is the future doesn’t have any light at the end of the tunnel , can’t blame supporters who throw the towel in
I totally agree. It’s very wearing. As you say, with no light at the end of the tunnel and bring on a very slippery slope it is very depressing.
When one’s mood is governed by the ups and downs of Rovers fortunes it is very difficult. As I have been Rovers fan for 60 years now, I’m starting to feel that for my own well-being, I need to “let go”. But they’re in my blood, so it will be very difficult and may not be possible.
Rovers consume too large a part of my day for my own good. I feel like Venkies are literally slowly killing me with their actions and attitude, but I know i won’t be able to change and that in itself is even more depressing.
I think that now is the time for Venkies to sell up and go and we’ll just have to live with the consequences. We have to start moving forward again no matter where that starting point eventually is.- 11

Has to be £2M surely before we let him leave. If they do and it’s not reinvested it could be the final straw for JDT.

These “ players “ and I use this term loosely clearly have no confidence in themselves, each other and , more importantly, the manager .
They are bereft of confidence, guts direction and leadership.
We will be relegated if the current “ management “ remains .
It’s because they can’t trust the goalkeeper.

Hyam has been rubbish since he came back from injury.
never mind youngsters we need experienced defenders. -
We’re definitely in a relegation scrap now.

I remember "the snake" saying he was injured, then literally went straight into Spurs's match day squad.
I thought it was the club saying he was injured (because of contractual terms).

Oh yes, he would be great to get on the end of all of those crosses that the wingers we do not have are constantly swinging into the box 😉
Moore is a good player at this level but would be wasted in this Rovers team under JDT
He would offer protection at corners and give us a much needed plan B. If he is pushing for more game time in order to be considered for the Euros the cherries may take a contribution only to his salary. Obviously if other teams are willing pay his full salary then we will have no chance.
