In that interview with JDT he said Ayari can play 6, 8 or 10 in our system so presumably that where he will be playing .I know little of the player so I'm not judging if that is  a correct decision but with JDT saying that along with other things about him and Brighton saying yes and the player coming here whatever was said must have left them both confident he will see playing time ,and if that's the case less time for Garrett ,only 1 other if any would come in if that happened tho if that's where Ayari is gonna be seeing playing time

Ayari is too small and weak to play anything other than an advanced role.

In Telalovic defence, the Cambridge lads were putting some excellent blocks in and every shot Telalovic hit got blocked. Even the neutral commentator said so at one point.

I think too many of our players try to keep the ball low when they shoot, but if they hit it higher by putting their laces through the ball a low block would not work.

Agree with first point, but we have to wait and see what happens over next 3 weeks.

As for Trav being Content to work his way in at Ipswich but not here you are missing potential context. Maybe he gave it 5 months here and still wasn't getting what he wanted so no point giving it 5 months more in his mind. At Ipswich he might be in the same position, but if he does break in there he might be able to secure a Premier League move to Ipswich in the Summer if it works out and they go up. Remember it's a Loan not a permanent move.

The LT article said he reluctantly agreed, which suggests he was forced out rather than being his choice, ie a budget saving. Unless he fears he won’t get the desired game time at Ipswich either.

  4. We lose games when teams use physicality against us, so we get rid of a 6 foot player and replace him with a weedy 5’8 player. Also an experienced player swopped for an inexperienced kid when we are screaming out for experience ( and passion). We also have an extremely thin squad so it doesn’t make any sense. As others have said already, this smacks of budget cuts. If we get relegated then these cuts will look extremely foolish.

Have to laugh at folk suggesting experienced keepers on loan or whatever,

Remember we're not in the results business here, they spent 800K on Leo, he will be our keeper for a good while yet, learning on the job hoping that he improves so they can make a bit of a profit on him later.

Nobody above JDT gives a damn that he is costing us a goal or 2 a game. All about development.

They won’t develop much in league 1!!

  6. Goal keeping mistakes have cost us dearly in the last few games. It’s no good scoring two goals from multiple chances and then giving goals away only to draw. Even playing JDT’s expansive style of play (which I feel needs tweaking to be a bit more pragmatic) we would have won yesterday but for the individual errors made.
A good goalkeeper on loan would probably give us more points than a good striker at this point. You can’t underestimate the drop in moral when cockups like that happen.

What on Earth has happened to some of these players?? Brittain was one of our top performers for much of this season but the drop off has been crazy. Carter, Hill, Moran, etc. have all dropped off so badly.

Not supporting the idea of sacking JDT at this point but this continues to be a deeply concerning downturn in form. Fail to beat Rotherham and it'll be extremely difficult to justify his position as head coach.

He needs to have a more pragmatic approach in his tactics. Teams just defend deep against us, with a high press and cut us apart on the transition.
