And I want all this plus a proper shirt of proper blue and white quarters.
What like Bristol Rovers????

I really don’t get why Downing was allowed to leave. He isn’t top notch but he is an orthodox talk centre half who did a reasonable job when he was asked to. I can’t believe that he would do a worse job at the moment.

Quite apathetic about today, mid table security.
Rotherham, Wigan and Ipswich would love to feel that apathy.

Graham’s header? Didn’t look like he touched it to me.
Three subs at HT - I know we needed to change things but we’re an injury away from having 9 men.
Sending a signal. You are all on for 45 minutes. Give it all you got. High risk but nowt to lose.

Funny how in the space of a month or so some of our so called fringe players have become “hot property.”

I see PNE's new lower league signings (
Godley and CrèmeStockley and Potts) both scored yesterday at a QPR side that rarely concede. There be gold in them there leagues, like we found with Dack.Tell that to Ipswich!!!

If there is any silver lining it is the humorous pieces that have come out after the cup tie.
Here is one from Toon. There is also a terrific piece in the Times which may be firewalled.

There can be no excuses.
We are playing a very poor bottom of the league team, who are 7 points adrift from safety, at home.
A home banker.
“Alan is Town's sixth signing in the January window and will wear the number 31 shirt.”
Lambert is sorting out the calamity of his predecessor. Plenty of new players wanting to prove themselves including Alan Judge.

The score?
Two moments of magic in a dull game at a dodgy place. Travis’s passing and energy level. Lenihan strong at the back. Nuttall “scored” and put it about. Great finish by Armstrong. Three away points.

Pretty exciting. We wanted a shake up. Here we go. A chance for plenty of folks to shine. Whether we get tonked or not it is a bold move. Cautious it is isn’t.

You only have to look around around the Premier League and Championship to see the clowns owning clubs making knee jerk reactions.
Some do it for the love and are out of their depth. Some are convicted money launderers, and some try and do it for the money and get a rude awakening. I believe Venkys were naive and listened to the wrong advisors. That won’t be the last time that happens in the World.
I have been as angry as most over the years, but as my angst ridden Wednesday mate reminds me “You have tasted success in your lifetime.”
Time is now. They, like us, want stability, logic and success and the Venkys are still here putting money into a club with 12k attendances.
Tell that to the long suffering and passionate Newcastle fans who have been bled dry by their owner and 50K still turn up in hope
Lets be thankful for the moment. A team that is adjusting well to one of the toughest leagues in the World where give or take 9 teams were playing Premier League football in the last three years. Enormous investments have been by other clubs in this league with huge expectations.
Welcome Venkys. We all learned some harsh lessons and had bad times with bad managers and bad players, but now is the time to collectively enjoy what has been achieved with Arte et Labore et Mowbre.

4-0 would have been more of a reflective score line. We were excellent, they were abysmal.
Graham and Dack the stars of the show, but Conway and Downing made a huge difference. I don’t understand why downing has been frozen out for most of the season, he’s always done well when he’s played.
Very strange. I was looking for a Downing thread this week and couldn’t find one. The forgotten man returns with a vengeance. That combined with the passion of Conway and Reed feeding the beasts. Great to see Graham score a hat trick. Wearing my shirt with pride at Fresh Markets.

Weird string of moaning.
We are 8th. Above Swansea, Villla, Brentford, Wednesday and Stoke. I am relishing it. Everyone else is playing Ketchup.

Tony makes head scratching team selection bold moves. God bless him. Away point is a great result. We are mere mortals.

No ifs and buts. Massive massive result. Lucky shirt and bracelet glowing with pride.

Nah, in this day and age Keeley would never stay on the pitch for 90 minutes. Always loved Faz, steady.
He didn’t when he was playing ?

OK, so now we've reached the second international break let's take a step back and take stock.
If the aim is survival, we're on track. If the aim is championship consolidation, we're on track. If the aim is reaching the playoffs, we're on track. If the aim is outright promotion, we're in a decent position from which to attack.
Let that sink in. A year ago, none of us would have dared believe we'd be in this position, so I think we can be v pleased with where we are.
Do we deserve it? Overall yes, absolutely. We got lucky today to some extent but that cancels out one of the 93rd minute minor disasters. If we'd beaten Ipswich but drawn today, we'd be in exactly the same position but would the sentiment from so many be so underwhelming? I doubt it!
It's worth noting Wigan got stuffed 4-0 at bottom 3 side Preston today. Bottom 3 side Ipswich won at Swansea. Stoke won at Norwich. There's no easy or predictable games in this league!!
Grinding out unconvincing points is a cornerstone to any team's success... Are we perfect? Hell no; we got a mauling on Weds night - but then Sheff Utd now sit pretty at the top. We're work in progress, building a team ethos to go with the spirit. TM knows this, and his post match comments show he's not resting on his laurels or taking anything for granted.
I remain really excited about what this group can achieve with proper guidance, support & time; if we're in this position now with all the uncertainty / rough edges about players like Raya, Lenihan, Williams, Nyambe, Rodwell, Smallwood, Evans, Armstrong, Brereton, think what Rovers could be like in a few months' time once they have another 20 or so games under their collective belts...
Roll on Leeds!!!!!
Excellent post.

Glass half full kind of guy. Saw the game and we rode our luck a bit.
Still three points against a local team away from home feels like an enormous gift. A bit like a home made pork pie hand delivered to America
Lucky Rovers shirt and bracelet working great after a wobble mid week

Job done, not pretty but winning these games away is crucial. Good way to start the break.

On paper that us a very good team. Good place to try them all out. It is Premier league opposition but a chance to play Football. A chance for Rodwell to become an instant hero.

In Tony we trust. Got a fancy do tonight. The shirt and lucky bracelet stay on.

I agree. Poor run but let’s put things into perspective especially as dodgy owners are concerned. Hope this is not firewalled
