It's not frustrating me, I'm not the one having to answer them, but it's frustrating JDT. That's the point.
You certainly sound frustrated.
I didn't realise you had a direct line to how JDT was feeling by the way..impressive.
He's more likely just frustrated with dumb journalists and their inane questions.

Why are Q's about transfer updates 'silly'? Every footie journo in he land asks about them. The problem at Rovers is the dysfunctional set-up whereby the bloke who should be answering them has gone into hiding, leaving JDT to answer them.
I'd much rather we go about our transfer business quietly and effectively rather than worry about answering reporters questions.
I wouldn't call it dysfunctional as the policy to keep schtum seems a deliberate one.
That might frustrate you but I'm sure they'll not be losing any sleep about that.

I would argue he definitely did. The club completely mismanaged the situation. A great lad by all accounts and a great option
He's gone and is now a Wigan reserve.
You really need to move on.

Which biscuits? Which crisps?
I see what you did there - keeping this thread off transfers, you're going to be in for it now just wait for the 'Keep the thread on topic police' to arrive... 😃
I'll bite though.
Fave biscuit - chocolate digestive.
Fave crisps - salt and vinegar.

This has surpassed last weekend's theorising about BBD leaving as the worst series of posts in some time.
Granted it got old pretty quickly but no need to be Garrulous Regarding Utilising Major Public Yelling.
It is the weekend after all...

Think that’s probably because Sarr and Dennis being linked away from them and they want someone in first. Handful like you say but not the greatest goal scorer. Jason Roberts comes to mind
2 hours ago, Tyrone Shoelaces said:Exactly. The new Jason Roberts, but very handy at this level.
8 goals in 88 club appearances. He is not, it's fair to say, a goal machine.

And not much of one
40 goals in 243 appearances, a goal every 6 games and never scored for us.

Rather Smallwood than lowe, both piss poor however
Too true. Archetypal 'jorneymen' types both of "em.

Jason Lowe, footballer.
There's an oxymoron right there...

Kienan Davis is exactly what we need. We haven’t had any strength up top since gestede was here. He could hold the ball up and bring others into play, offer a physical presence, he’s quick , can score . He’s dream land stuff . I’d fall off my chair with excitement if we bring in anyone close to the quality he would bring
Yep, he can - 8 in 88 games to be precise.

I can't take you seriously with a comment like that.
I'll survive but thanks for the heads up...
Just don't rate him. Also, I'm not sure he's a JDT type player but that's just me guessing.

Well we are in the championship. So he is at our level
Well spotted...no flies on you.
Doesn't mean I have to want him at Rovers though does it?

Good player. Physical and quick. Exactly the player you'd want to lead the line.
Unfortunately Villa want £15 mill so no way he comes here.
£15m??? Good to know as he's not worth that and we can't afford it.
Bullet dodged...

I'll admit Keenan is a beast but that doesn't always make you a 'footballer'.
Bit of a flat track bully for me. Championship probably is his level though.
Looked hopeless in the Premier and definitely not a natural finisher as his stats prove.

Prob end up in the Premier league...too good for this one
You mean the Keenan Davis who has scored 8 goals in 88 games. That Keenan Davis?
I think/ hope we can do better....

I wouldn't have gone to the press and said or implied that the situation was resolved. I would have been honest and said it wasn't.
Of course nobody can be forced to sign a contract. Though given the numbers who have declined them I think if you haven't already it is perhaps time to start questioning the approach of those offering them.
So just to clarify...your clever plan to sort it would have been not to tell the press it was pretty much done & voilà 'Bob's your uncle'.
Give Waggott his P45 and get JH Rover in now!!!

No signings.
Wigan affording Nyambe where we couldn't.
280 pages two days early.
What a sham.
Actually, just to play devil's advocate - maybe we just didn't want him enough to give him what he thought he was worth?

I know this is just one fan’s opinion but my Barnsley supporting mate who told me Hedges wouldn’t get in our team has said the following about Brittain:
“You can have him. No composure, pretty poor touch but just has one trick he does over and over again which can give him some joy.”
I getting a strong whiff of sour grapes...

I got the same replies at the start of last season. A lot of posters were saying we would be in a relegation struggle because we had sold our top scorer. This season the theme is we will be in a relegation struggle because we have lost three reasonable championship level players and two loanees have returned to their club. I don't agree with this theory.
PS. I haven't been out in the sun and I certainly don't partake of Tabs. I couldn't give a fuck if you admire my optimism.
It's a good point.
I clearly remember the doom laden posts on here last pre- season. Basically we were a shoe-in to go down. Didn't happen and never looked like happening.
The lack of signings so far is definitely disappointing and I'd like to see some activity ASAP but I'm not going to start self- flagellating yet, I'll leave that to the usual suspects.

Ha ha...he's been on the radar for years mate...you think players like that go under the radar when they play other clubs in matches....
Know for a fact utd have been in for him for ages, I know the utd scout who's been watching him. His job is to buy from other academies.
Why does it feel like you're enjoying this situation a bit too much?
Regarding the bit in bold - sounds a bit like he's no better than a pimp working the street corners looking for new talent...
-
I don't accept that Lenihan was all that. A limited championship defender is what he is backed up by the fact that he's left us and gone to Middlesbrough.
He'd be a car crash if he ever somehow got to the premiership...

Overall, that was a decent work-out.
Definitely confirms we're short in places but I thought we stuck to our task well. We looked dangerous on the counter and had an effective press in Celtic's half when we committed to it.
Some positives to take away but now we need to get some new faces in.

Nothing personal, I just find it a strange thing for you to be banging on about.
Let's agree to disagree and hopefully move on to talking about new arrivals soon ..
