Nothing confirmed they have offered McQueen?

I think it is complete bull considering their manager said it will be a struggle for him to play again.

Hopefully not, be an awful shame to see Mowbray being given any of the Armstrong money to make permanent signings.

The man should be gone and no way should he be getting more money to fritter away giving 2 or 3 year deals to players because they played well for him or against him a couple of times

All well and good and, in an ideal world, it would happen.

However, it's clear he's going nowhere at present and it's also clear our squad is light, so rather than indulging in perpetual self-flagellation, maybe have a think about who you'd like to see brought in given that this is the transfer thread.

    William Hill: Championship Outright market.

They are now in stewardship of my £50 until it matures into £450 come May 2021.

I'd say those odds look about right given our current squad although as someone else said they may look very different over the next month or so. Personally I think it's a mugs game betting on relegation yet until you can see what everyone's squad looks like come the start of the season.

I still cannot believe that lummox has an international cap let alone a goal but he took it well. Playing centrally. 🤯

Bit of a churlish response that.

I'm made up for the lad, a proper Roy of the Rovers story-line.

This whole experience could be the making of him and, if it is, we might be beneficiaries too..

As long as he doesn't speak Spanish like Mclaren spoke 'Dutch' mind you.

Well if you are calling JL tosh and at the same age as Bucko he was well ahead...what does it make JB who you keep saying is the next big thing.? JL light years ahead of him at the same age...very well respected in the national set up, has JB ever been anywhere near an international player...?

I'm happy to discuss the merits of Buckley but I can't accept that Jason Lowe is being held up as something which proves how bad Buckley is. Lowe is/was an anti-footballer who could suck the life out of a game just by being involved.

  5. Blimey Sparks - talk about a dog with a bone when you were the one who made a clearly bogus comment initially about us losing when Buckley starts

Your last post then basically just reaffirms Joe's post was correct other than him not starting against QPR although I'd suggest the fact he came on after 5 minutes is almost as good as starting?

Time to move on maybe before you dig the hole any deeper...

Does this actually exist.? I don't see progress. Our football is slow and cumbersome for for majority of the season.

    I see no progress.

I tend to agree although I have quite liked the fact we've dished out a few hammerings this season which is quite unusual for us.

Scoring ,more goals is nice too but is offset , as many have said, by the fact we had no Plan B once teams sussed us out... flat-track bullies sums us up quite well this season.

    Your eye doesn't lie!

If a player looks shit, he generally is.

    Too true.

I played with a lad on the Uni team many years ago, quick as a whippet but never looked up and had often run on to the adjacent Rugby field before he realised and belatedly put the brakes on...

If he had a football 'brain' it was hidden somewhere deep and very rarely came out to play.

  8. Like many on here I want Mowbray gone but looking at the people released in isolation I have to say I'm not sad any of them are going.

I'd like to think we can do better at a fraction of the wages which were being wasted on players contributing very little - however, that requires a proactive and organised recruiting team and unfortunately we seem to be lacking in that area...

I look at it like this - are we likely to replace him with a better player ? If as I suspect the answer is no we aren’t, we need to keep him.

You have a very valid point. I'd like to think there is better out there but whether or not there's any real chance of us getting them is the million dollar question..

You should be if they give Benno a 12 month new deal.

Just to be clear that's the last thing I want. The current clear out really should include both Bennett and Johnson if we are going to have an authentic fresh start especially as neither will bring anything to the party next year.

Nyambe is decent and could still improve as a right back, not a bloody wing back or whatever Mowbray does.

The main clamour for Nyambe wasn't because he is amazing, it's because he is  better there than Bennett - there wasn't anyone else who could play there till JRC hobbled up.

It's a similar situation at Left back.  This Pickering lad won't have to be amazing to look like a worldy there after Bell/Douglas.

I'd say all the very best full-backs these days have elements of the wing back about them, Alexander-Arnold and Robertson being perfect examples. Attacking ability being just as important as their defensive skills. Full back feels like a very different proposition these days and whilst Nyambe is okay I don't ever see him being top drawer.

Should we keep him? Am I bovvered? Not sure I am truth be told.

Eh? Didn't you see Mogga shrug his shoulders and say "Doesn't matter if we win or not" the other day?

The man bleeds blue and white!

I get what you're saying and to a large extent I agree. Winning is a good habit to develop and something we should always aspire to. Mowbray saying what he did is just wrong but that's also why I don't like it when people on here say I hope we lose. It just sticks in my craw.

By the way, that doesn't mean I want to keep Mowbray - he needs potting. Dreadfully disappointing season after some early promising signs. The time is right for a younger, more dynamic and motivational manager who can hopefully take us to the next level.

  13. Pretty reasonable ratings although I wouldn't have given Elliott a 9. More like a 7.5/8 for me.

Pears is shocking. We really need Kaminski not to get injured.

Harwood-Bellis would take again but I fear that horse has bolted and someone better than us will snaffle him up for next season.

Trybull - if we get rid of Johnson and Evans (fingers crossed), I'd try for him and then add another decent centre mid to the squad too. I know he's a bit marmite but I don't mind him personally.
