  1. Well, that was anti-climactic.

Had a bad vibe from the off given as we were live on TV (that usually doesn't end well).

It was a strange, lacklustre performance - started off poor, we did improve at times throughout the game but not to the extent that we in any way deserved to win that.

You could possibly argue a point might have been fair given a couple of the appalling refereeing decisions but it is what it is. We now need to respond like we did after the Fulham loss.

We need a few more in too - the squad quality and strength in depth needs improving.

Hard to truly believe we can end up in the top 2 after that performance but we had to lose some time, we'll learn now about their strength of character, resilience etc....

Not the most fair indicator of the quality of the league, but there is some sub-optimal defending going on there (along with some nice finishes too).

I can't necessarily say why but that I find that goals compilation a bit underwhelming. As mentioned by someone else, some of that defending is truly abysmal which probably doesn't help.

    Spot on.

Crazy people starting to trust the management after the past 3-4 years of the Conventrio.

Let's also not forget they had Dack sold before he was injured.

The lack of Armstrong replacement too.

The performances hiding what a shambolic job they are doing.

I'm no Mowbray apologist but this is just B/S.

As far as this season goes let them carry on doing their shambolic job and I'll judge on where we end the season.

The table doesn't lie - it didn't lie for us last season so same rules apply this..

I’d rather let Rothwell go for free in summer than go o Bournemouth now

100% agree. Would make absolutely no sense. Tell them to do one & roll the dice for promotion. If he goes at the end of the season so be it, there'll be lots of other out of contract players at the end of the season to replace him with if that's how it pans out.

Hold on, hold on wait a minute! ... We've just offered £250k for a left back? It was only the other day Mowbray was saying they would "only sanction" money for a striker

This is the typical "BULLSHIT" the totally inapt Mowbray and his croonies come out with. Left hand doesn't know what the right hands doing

It's not bullshit It's probably deliberate and aimed at insinuating we haven't got a pot to piss in. What would you have him do - say we're loaded and going on a spending spree?

There's lots to get angry about at present but this just smacks of being angry for the hell of it....

Why bother suggesting players who you have no idea about.🤷‍♂️

Sigh... at least Chaddy's trying to engender conversation on the transfer thread whereas you can best be described as the grim reaper of the message board.

Love to see you suggest some names yourself. Let's see how well yours stand up to scrutiny.

Ridiculous comment. So winning 3 games in mostly dead rubber games by 5 goals is ur argument against worst football played in the last 50 years

What is even more ridiculous is your backing up of said comment. The suggestion that last year was the worst football in 50 years is clearly both risible and bogus.

Lenihen is a no frills bog standard championship defender he gets through plenty of the dirty work.  When you look at the likes of Hanley he had more presence but football wise he was no better.

Capable of the odd cock up and selfish acts as well so both are probably where they should be right now. One at a yoyo club the other middle of the road second tier but if Lenihen can improve his composure a bit he can still improve his status.

He's 27, if he hasn't developed some composure by now forget it. For me, it's also one of those things which can only be coached to a certain extent - the core of it is instinctual and sadly he hasn't got it.

  9. If I'm honest I'm not a big fan of Lenihan. He gets allowances for being one of 'us' but, as a footballer, he's very limited.

Composure on the ball is negligible and is forward passing is atrocious. I'm okay with him signing an extension as it sets a bit of a precedent for the others to hopefully follow but ultimately it feels like we need better if we're ever going to really push for the next level.

    Very underwhelming.

If we couldn't get an 18 years old Rovers fan who used to live near Brockall,  to come and play here on loan then we might aswell all pack up and go home.  🙄 the odds are he's more like that shit left back than the lad Harvey.  Good luck to the lad like.

Typical churlish response from you. Even the 'good luck' at the end is done begrudgingly.

    Harvey Elliott - Loan

    Lewis Holtby - free

    Elliott Bennett - free

    Charlie Mulgrew - free

    Barry Douglas - loan

    Branthwaite - loan

    Harwood Bellis - loan

    Amari Bell - Free

    Corry Evans - free

    Tom Trybull - Loan

    Stewart Downing - free

    Adam Armstrong 15m?

Thats the 12 out (0 in, unless you count Harry Pickering, who is a new signing but why count that when we’re grasping for short straws)

Ive underlined the one I think we’d miss that we haven’t replaced already by someone moving up in the squad or u23s on fringes.

Equally I’m astute enough to remember Theres weeks to go in the transfer window so might be worth waiting before I decide just how upset I am, about Bennett, Evans, Mulgrew and Stewart Downing being released!

Its not like we normally deal with the youngsters not in the frame at premier league clubs until after the PL starts is it… oh wait… it is!

When you go from '12 out 0 in' faux outrage to seeing many of those names in black and white any residual anger I have rapidly dribbles away...

    Believe what you want.

I think Venkys are fed up, cutting everything they can and will sell anyone they can.

12 out 0 in is not the sign of a club astutely dealing with the market. Its the sign of a club desperate to cut costs.

You do like to get yourself wound up. A lot of those departures were sorely needed. - whatever they were being paid it was too much.

Cost cutting has to occur and we need to alter our running model as the wages to turnover ration is unsustainable. If you want an example on a bigger scale, look at what's happening to Barcelona...

"Only" Elliott, THB and Armstrong may not sound much numerically but when  AA and RE are contributing the vast majority of your goals and no-one else is stepping up, it's a catastrophic loss.

That's true but I don't think we can fully judge 'til the transfer window has closed.

12 out, none in. Turn up with your boots lads and you'll probably play second half.

The numbers are unarguable, but dig a bit deeper and how many of them will I actually miss? For me only Elliott, Harwood- Bellis and now Armstrong.

I liked Saturday's performance and, as someone else has said maybe having a smaller squad might focus Tinkerman Tony a bit more.

Also, looking forward to a couple of our youngsters stepping up and becoming fixtures in the first team squad.

Ince was out of his depth, and was sacked after less then half a season.

Coyle likewise was booted after 7 months.

I've pretty much wanted this moronic, pass the blame, boring, lying and pandering Dinosaur out of our club for longer than Kean, Coyle and Ince managed us - combined.

As much as Mowbray has outstayed his welcome I'd still take him over that toxic combo...

I think someone up the thread had it right...a loan should be the cherry on the cake, the stardust to get us over the line so to speak....berkovic was a good example.

Elliot should be the icing on the cake, not run to death up and down to cover for crap players..our centre halves should be our own.

Loanings should be strategic, ours are sticking plasters

Our loan business last season looked like exactly that on paper...i.e. the icing on the cake.

Unfortunately, in hindsight, it turned out like the ex's Slimming World Tiramisu (looked great, tasted like shite...) Mowray obviously being culpable for the outcome on this occasion, not the ex.
