Agree with this. We need someone quick simply to get us the up the pitch and turn teams round. Most teams play a high line against us because they know we don't have any pace. Khadra got quite a bit of stick for having little end product - yet he was a threat and teams had to sit deeper as a result.

Only genuinely quick player we've had in a few years now was Khadra. Need someone similar.

Both those signings need to be permanent.

At this moment of time, I think it's a great idea. IF we have a good transfer window. Shit window and nobody will bother as we will be on another spiral down the league. Simple as that really.

Well... that panned out predictably. Think Eustace got the starting selection wrong. Left us with nothing on the bench that could change it once we went behind. Awful set pieces first half. Thought Burnley mediocre as well. Baker confirmed my opinion of him today - absolute passenger. Credit to Britain. Only one that offered anything going forward. Really poor up front. and the wide players constantly turn back. What an awful festive period.

Thing is. If we start Gueye, he's never performed over 90 mins and has been far more effective as a sub. He'll be out of gas after an hour and subbed so if we need a late goal, there's nobody that can come in with his dynamic...or defend set pieces etc if we are hanging on. For me, he is far more effective in that last half hour. That only leaves Weimann or Leonard. I don't think Weimann has the legs to play up front on his own. Leonard will at least run and may poach something. They are both slim pickings. The wild card may be Dolan up on his own, with Hedges, JRC (or Weimann) and Cantwell in behind. l

Well, the weather is fine! Should suit Rovers down to the ground this game. Pressure is on Burnley. Think these players will stick up for themselves unlike some of the softer lads we've had over the last few years - Hyam better man-up today. Bit of a scratch team but I think I would go with JRC in the middle for a bit of shithousery. Pears Brittain Hyam Baath Beck JRC Tronstadt Hedges Dolan Cantwell Leonard. Toss up between JRC starting centrally and dropping Baker - or keep Baker in and drop Dolan with JRC at rb and Brittain further up. *JRC has been a bit off it this season but I always feel you benefit from a couple of home grown lads in a derby. A player of his age shouldn't be content to play second fiddle, that would be a concern in itself. Baker seemed to be a Eustace pick. I can't see what he brings but if Eustace rates him, fair enough. A Stoke fan I know wasn't bothered about him leaving. "Doesn't really impact games but may pop up with the odd goal." Seems a fair assessment from what I've seen so far. A bit like Weimann. Doesn't seem involved in much but can sniff out a goal. Agree about Sigurdsson, Buckley and Dolan. Any offers and they should be gone.

A good window is needed - no excuses. Two loan slots available and at least 1 permanent signing required. Defence: Needs cover 1x left back who can also cover centrally. Midfield: Midfield looks very thin when Travis or Tronstadt not available. JRC may be the only other option in there. Need rid of Buckley and I'm not overly enamoured with Baker - not sure what he actually brings. He's not out and out bad - reminds me a bit of Elliott Bennet. He's a player soon out of contract. If Eustace really wants him, surely a minimal fee could be negotiated to free up another loan place? Top end: Where do we start? Ohashi & Gueye both offer something - but neither really has enough all round to be starting games. In an ideal world those 2 are our bench options. Leonard probably needs a loan. What's happening with Tyjon's development? A better quality striker is a must. We still haven't sorted the wide positions either. ACD has shown flashes. He seems to be a yard short of that top level pace. Close control and turning ability exceptional - but gets caught on the ball a lot. Only young so may well improve...or may well turn out to be another Markanday/Dolan type. Hedges/Dolan/JRC don't really offer much out wide in an attacking sense. We still lack pace to play effectively on the break. A wide player is definitely needed. Ideal window for me then: Centre forward winger left back/cb cover Possibly a midfielder - personally I'd let Baker go.

We seem to be a bit of a streaky side. Win a few, lose a few. Regardless of the Dingle result, we will come out the festive period still in the play off race. Having played some of the top teams. Whether we stay in the race will be purely due to recruitment. Any additional players could do with arriving sooner rather than later in the window.
