  1. When he came in - Eustace was mentioning him as a replacement for Telalovic!
  2. Is Leonard good enough to lead the line regularly in the championship at this stage if his career? NO Would I rather play Leonard instead of some bang average prem league under 21 loanee squad filler? YES Would I rather have a top young prospect in Danns play instead of Leonard? YES. Easy.
  3. Club is rudderless. Waggott on record at the end of last summer stating pace, power and resilience needs adding to the squad. That will be the focus for recruitment. Still waiting for the first 2 and Wallace/Bamford won't bring either. Still doesn't look like a penny will be spent in fees in Jan. No permanent signings. Just a collection of players, who at this stage of their career, are injury prone journey men. What's the point of any kind of recruitment/scouting team?
  4. Cantwell is an enigma. He has clearly got more ability than anyone at the club. I've even been impressed by his workrate tracking back (which I wasn't expecting). Yet he can't seem to put a decent attacking performance in. If you compare characters, there are a lot of similarities between him and Buckley. Both rated highly at a young age. Both with the potential ability to unlock doors and run games. Both seem to have a questionable attitude. Both seem to go missing when it gets physical. Both pick up petulant/stupid bookings. Both have never consistently realised their full ability and probably never will. Cantwell also seems a little similar to David Bentley. I feel there is an element of him having fallen 'out of love' with game. It's still early to write him off given the lack of games etc over the last couple of years. I expect that around March, when it has warmed up, we will see Cantwell have a purple patch till the end of the season.. I'd take a pre- injury Dack over Cantwell any time.
  5. No idea lol but we need options in the squad. Hedges/Dolan are slow with no end product. Should be straight forward to find somebody quick with no end product. Mix it up a bit.
  6. Wouldn't have Brereton back. Not achieved much since he left. Can't imagine he'd want to come back either - for him it's like admitting he made the wrong choice.
  7. Agree with this. We need someone quick simply to get us the up the pitch and turn teams round. Most teams play a high line against us because they know we don't have any pace. Khadra got quite a bit of stick for having little end product - yet he was a threat and teams had to sit deeper as a result.
  8. Only genuinely quick player we've had in a few years now was Khadra. Need someone similar.
  9. Both those signings need to be permanent.
  10. He's basically misheard Pasha and Waggott going 'Ka-ching' after the Burnley game and jumped to the wrong conclusion.
  11. At this moment of time, I think it's a great idea. IF we have a good transfer window. Shit window and nobody will bother as we will be on another spiral down the league. Simple as that really.
  12. Can't say there's bern a single name mentioned so far that is worthy of a bit of excitement. Venky shit show.
  13. If any truth in this one, likely to be a Gestede shout.
  14. 6 goals in something like his last 89 games. Competing with Ryan Hedges who has 7 in 95. Not much in it 🤷🏻‍♂️
  15. Same happened with Josh Bowler. Looked a real player at Blackpool but just had loan after loan since. Another one that needs a permanent move.
  16. As much as I hate losing to the Dingles, its almost expected these days. I'm still more annoyed about the Hull non-performance.
  17. Well... that panned out predictably. Think Eustace got the starting selection wrong. Left us with nothing on the bench that could change it once we went behind. Awful set pieces first half. Thought Burnley mediocre as well. Baker confirmed my opinion of him today - absolute passenger. Credit to Britain. Only one that offered anything going forward. Really poor up front. and the wide players constantly turn back. What an awful festive period.
  18. Thing is. If we start Gueye, he's never performed over 90 mins and has been far more effective as a sub. He'll be out of gas after an hour and subbed so if we need a late goal, there's nobody that can come in with his dynamic...or defend set pieces etc if we are hanging on. For me, he is far more effective in that last half hour. That only leaves Weimann or Leonard. I don't think Weimann has the legs to play up front on his own. Leonard will at least run and may poach something. They are both slim pickings. The wild card may be Dolan up on his own, with Hedges, JRC (or Weimann) and Cantwell in behind. l
  19. I wouldn't say any of the other champ clubs who've already made a signing have overspent, would you?
  20. Well, the weather is fine! Should suit Rovers down to the ground this game. Pressure is on Burnley. Think these players will stick up for themselves unlike some of the softer lads we've had over the last few years - Hyam better man-up today. Bit of a scratch team but I think I would go with JRC in the middle for a bit of shithousery. Pears Brittain Hyam Baath Beck JRC Tronstadt Hedges Dolan Cantwell Leonard. Toss up between JRC starting centrally and dropping Baker - or keep Baker in and drop Dolan with JRC at rb and Brittain further up. *JRC has been a bit off it this season but I always feel you benefit from a couple of home grown lads in a derby. COYB 💪🏻
  21. Have we sold out now? Anyone know the final total (ish)?
  22. That was my immediate thought. No money, so don't let anyone go. Been there before.
  23. If Cantwell is recovering from illness. You'd really expect him to at least be on the bench by Saturday.
