  1. It would be a shocking window if we've actually managed to weaken the forward line. There's been plenty of strikers on the move. The only glimmer, is surely the club wouldn't be stupid enough to loan Markanday out without another body coming in?
  2. As good a signing as O'Brien would be, its pointless without any striker coming in.
  3. The only plan Rovers seem to have is the academy. Clearly, in the next couple of years, we will have an under 21 side and our first team will essentially be an under 23 side-all on low contracts. I thought the last window was poor but this one is on a different level of inept at seemingly every level of the club.
  4. There's only one club letting us down and its a bit nearer home.
  5. Not sure its a signing that needs to be kept under the radar🤷🏻‍♂️
  6. We all know midfield is a glaring area. If we aren't signing anybody, just play Garret and Wharton in there and let them develop. Playing Morton week in, week out is just pointless.
  7. Here's the thing though, they are going to walk promotion with the expensive squad they can't afford. They get the prem money next year and then they can afford it. To some clubs it's a risk worth taking.
  8. Been this way for several years. Lack of pace and physicality.
  9. why can we not compete salary wise with teams who don't have parachute payments?
  10. Now a motivated Lucas Jaoa would be a great signing at the top end of the pitch for 6 months. Exactly what we need. Quick, physical and unpredictable. Problem is he's very hot and cold. Hot and he's nigh on unplayable at this level. Cold and he'll just be a gangly Vale.
  11. shit at getting players in ✔️ Shit at retaining players ✔️ Shit at selling players for a profit ✔️ How did Venkys become billionaires? It's like Trotters Independent Traders. This time next year Rodders.
  12. I genuinely have no idea 😂. It's like inverted wingers cutting in every time and running into a back 4/5 because the full backs just drop in the box and block/congest the space. Lots of people, far cleverer than me think its a great idea. I just wish somebody would explain why🤪
  13. Just noticed that 😂. There only seemed to be one place left 😬
  14. Might have🤷🏻‍♂️, I thought you were saying that 2 in midfield, in a 4-4-2 doesn't work any more due to lack of numbers in the middle. Yet playing 2 in the middle a fraction deeper is fine? I'd still argue its down to the type and quality of player that's in there. Partner any of either Wharton, Buckley, Morton with an Nzonzi or Flitcroft and there is no way the midfield 2 gets overwhelmed every week. We just don't have the right compliment of players in the middle. Recruit players to make a system work. We don't - or certainly haven't previously- done that.
  15. Price sounds £1.8 million more than we can afford. Although I'm sure we were told in summer there was a healthy transfer budget but tight wage budget. Yet now we are focusing on signing out of contract players...who by that very nature will expect higher wages. No wonder it's a struggle to get any deals done.
  16. Everything in footy is cyclical. Just need a team to do well with out and out wingers and the fad will change again. Just need to be brave enough to do it first and not mirror everyone else.
  17. Woah there we've often gone 4-2-3-1. It's the 2 you have in there that are important. play a 2 and 1 needs to be physical and the physical and play a bit! We generally play with 2 who can't tackle and think they are Pirlo.
  18. Does it matter? You won't trust the source if he tells you🤷🏻‍♂️
  19. Granted he looked a useful player that season. I'd say there's a case that back then he was playing a proper cf role and had been at Southampton/u21. He's not developed in any way, shape or form since that season. It's been coached out of him with this wide forward rubbish that started during his loan at Brum and under every manager since. Given his size, at 27 he should be an absolute nightmare to play against but he's often bullied out of it by the opposition centre back. Maybe an additional 3 years playing up against 2 cb would have made him more competitive - who knows.
