  1. As well as Ohashi had started, I think we need to give him a full season to see if he's the second coming. The keeper maybe simply a no2 and solve nothing. The Brighton winger could be anything but he'll be very inconsistent. We'll have to see.
  2. Yup, no real investment in the team as we expected. No young talent purchased to develop etc.
  3. I wonder whether there will be a last minute sale.
  4. Exactly this. It's the pace and width we lack.
  5. One player doth not a pacy team make. Now if we can sign a couple...
  6. If memory serves I don't think he pulled off any amazing saves in that. Just one of his more competent displays.
  7. I can see us finishing the window with the keeper, Baker and Cantwell. We'll fail to bring in any pace whatsoever. Pace out wide has been our glaring Achilles heel. Recruitment know it, yet seems to be the area they are least proactive in.
  8. That's the difference. Raya had a clanger or 2 in him but he could also pull off unbelievable saves that won points in other games. Pears has cost us plenty of points. Can't think of any game where I've thought, Pears single handedly kept us in it.
  9. Not sure those four make us anywhere near a top 6 side.
  10. Still need permanent winger and a forward - especially with Vale going. Looks like we are adding some more technical players in Baker/Cantwell but not the pace/power/resilience that we were told we needed.
  11. Matondo? Surely we've put our hat in for Doak. Although it seems half of the Prem/Champ also have so next to no chance. A lot of the European wingers in our pond have moved already.
  12. Safe bet given that the window closes tomorrow. Is it Mystic Meg?
  13. So 6 is the old 4 and 10 is the old 8. I wouldn't class Dunn/Cairney the same as a Baggio/Riquelme/Totti/Bergkamp. Dack - maybe.
  14. So likely to stop one or 2 more than Pears but all the same weaknesses he has.
  15. Thanks for the 8/10 clarification. Strikes me we don't currently play with an '8' then. Rather 2 sixes and a ten. 🤷🏻‍♂️ If Baker is an 8, then is he a ball carrier or a dribbler 🤯
  16. Don't know much about Baker except he's been mentioned as a target for a while. Would make sense but assume very similar to Cantwell - unless that's now fallen through. Keeper - Meh. Wait and see. Beck. Be interesting if Pickering injured for Sat. If the lad is good, he should be straight in otherwise it'll be Britain at left back. No idea how good the potential winger from Brighton is. Would rather we signed a permanent winger with him as a bonus. Cantwell - Believe it when I see it. Permanent winger, Striker and CB for a very good window.
  17. Seeing as we debunked the difference between a ball carrier and a dribbler. Can anyone clarify the difference between an 8 and a 10 these days. Asking for someone that grew up with Garner as a 10.
  18. Permanent signings cough cough, left winger cough.
  19. If the internal arguments were Dembele or Germain, are we now signing the Japanese lad?
  20. He misjudges the bounce of a ball a lot! Any full back requires a modicum of pace. Unless you are playing Rovers, you are likely up against the quickest player on the pitch. You can have all the positioning nous in the world but if that ball gets knocked past you, you've had it.
