  1. I think most of us expected nothing would get invested in the team. Similar to Rhodes leaving. Shame Mowbray won't resign over it like Lambert.
  2. Barry Douglas isn't setting the bar very high. He was bloody awful 😂
  3. It's just people commenting on what was seen last night. Nobody has written him off. Is he quick? It would appear not. Did he get a bit of a roasting from their winger? Yes. He won't play against that quality every week but he will be up against quick wide players most weeks in the championship. If you sign a highly rated player from a lower league, there are usually some attributes that make you think 'he's got something' even if it's not the finished article. Judging from the 2 games he's started that's not apparent so far. The young lad Cirino had the pace to keep their winger in check. On last night's showing, he looked the better of the 2. As you say, early days though, he may turn out to be very solid and offer a decent output further up the field. Hopefully his 'leadership' qualities will also come through
  4. In a back three I would definitely play Magloire. Agree not technically the best, but he can tackle well and nobody is beating him for pace. Not arsed if he can't play it out from the back. Want a defender to defend.
  5. Which makes it even stranger why these young lads weren't given game time in the last couple of dead rubber games last season -rather than playing players who have since been released.
  6. Me too. I could very much get behind that. Not with Mowbray's crab football though. It's where we were In the 80s. We'd see enthusiasm and maximum effort each week from the young lads. All you want as a fan. The academy being the life line for Rovers post Jack was his biggest ambition. Maybe, just maybe.
  7. It was a decent performance. Leeds ran that second half though we were dogged. Think, similar to last season, we will be 'in' most games but lack of goals will cost us.
  8. Midfield seems to have disappeared this half. We have very little going forward. Defence and Kaminski done well so far though.
  9. Pickering looks as slow as Douglas. He's getting a chasing down that side.
  10. I would say Mowbray deserves credit for bringing in a potentially exciting player in Rothwell. Has he improved the player since he has been here? I would argue not. Elliott was a prodigious talent at 16. Spent a year developing with a title winning squad, Came on loan (tick for Mowbray) Did Mowbray develop him or did he just realise he was considerably better than any of our wide strikers? Given that Armstrong was literally the only player getting in the box under that bloody system - and had a pretty poor goals to shots ratio, the jury is out on whether Mowbray gets any credit. That said, if Armstrong really admired TM for developing his career, surely he would be more likely to pen a new deal...
  11. That would be another downgrade in my opinion.
  12. Rothwell will have one good season, here or somewhere else, go for 4-5 million and never repeat it again. No doubt it will be this season and he'll go for nowt!
  13. They invest but with no purpose. The result is basically what you stated. The club is dying and not that slowly.
  14. Yes I expect they may rise by a few over the next 7/10 days, up to the claim your seat deadline. After that, can't see where sales come from.
  15. Be very surprised if they get anywhere near 5k then. Those who renew 'whatever' will have done so by now. There is zero incentive for anyone even mildly disenfranchised with the club to renew.
  16. Can't imagine it's any great loss. Last thing needed is another midget holding mid.
  17. Had a ST, except for the odd year (Kean) since around 1982. Didn't get one last year, not interested in getting one this year. Heard absoloutely nothing. No mailshot, email, phone call, nowt. There is no club attempt at re-engagement. Last positive efforts were probably when Alan Myers was here.
  18. That's because we have no intention of reinvesting any in players.
  19. That chap's injury record makes Grella look like an ever present!
  20. So we are out the embargo? Would have expected us to have had a few signings lined up as soon as embargo lifted. Have we even signed a recruitment guy yet?
  21. I reckon the club would snap your hands off for crowds of 8000 at low key games, I reckon it will be nearer 6k. Wonder how many ST have been sold so far.
  22. I'll be amazed if we can sign anyone for a fee this season. Armstrong will go. No Money will be reinvested. We've been here before. A Chris Brown and a Danny Guthrie will arrive to supplement the kids from the academy.
