  1. Good. Ayala will be worth every penny if he stops Mowbray playing that tepid possession shite.
  2. That makes up the 5 loans then. No permanent.
  3. I have no problem with the kids policy either. However, unless they are clearly better than our own under 23s, what's the point?
  4. Doesn't come with the reputation of a Tosin or Hardwood Bellis. Smacks of a desperate punt on an unknown player. We certainly won't have been clued up on the guy through our European scouting network. Like any signing, hope it works out for Rovers benefit but I personally can't see it. Rather we kept Carter around the first team. Now if these cheaper loans mean we can bring in a couple of proven permanent deals on deadline day, then fair enough. I doubt it though.
  5. The disappointing thing is these lads aren't even on loans with an option to sign if they are any good. How can you get excited about that? Just play our own youth.
  6. Is this lad quality cover - better than the cover we already have?
  7. Then why, as a manager, publicly come out and say you are looking to add experience - then recruit players under 21. It's the constant bullshit from the man of integrity that is really annoying. They may be great. They may not.
  8. These lads are clearly at the cheap and cheerful end of Premier kid loans. No nailed on quality.
  9. Sharpe basically saying Mowbray sees the Leeds winger playing centrally so the Brighton winger deal still on 😂 You couldn't make this shit up. Young Brighton CB possible as well. Bags of experience with these loans. No doubt a young left back will follow and that will be the lot.
  10. Can't blame them. If that's the case though it's another sign of weak management. They should have been sold 12 months ago and replaced.
  11. Beginning to think that. He does not seem interested in the term journey anymore. He knows this team aren't capable of playoffs and more likely to drop down. Not his problem in 12 months if players leave. He is however building himself a nice reputation with the big clubs for developing their kids. That will earn him kudos now should he move elsewhere or retire.
  12. It's all up in the air as no one extrnally knows why Nyambe/Rothwell won't sign. If it is purely because we can't offer enough contract wise, then I'm guessing the argument is what we pay for Clarkson (loan fee plus wage contribution) would allow us to offer Nyambe/Rothwell an extra 2-3k per week. Promoting Garret to the first team squad and retaining two assets who both have a resale value is much better for Blackburn Rovers in the mid to long term.
  13. Deep down you already know the answer to that one.
  14. This can't be the right guy. Waggot said we were getting a number 10, not a flighty winger.
  15. So could Speedie. Brilliant in the air for a little striker.
  16. I'd throw Kante in with that lot. Quality. That Spanish side full of midgets ten years ago were technically superb and could just pass teams ragged, regardless of size. Our midfield is too small and not technically good enough to compete with physical sides. Our big lads up top are both weak in the air for their size.
  17. Maybe we will get 2 decent wingers. There is every chance they are more attainable than a goal scoring striker. Perhaps Mowbray has had an epiphany and will now play his two 6ft 4 strikers as strikers not wingers. Probably not though.
  18. Never assume anything with women mate. Ever.
  19. Probably mixed up Blackburn and Blackpool.
  20. Every midfielder is a number 10 and number 9 in Mowbray's book.
  21. Can't imagine there is anyone worth loaning from Scotland. Any decent young player will be established in the first team so why would they loan him out? Wonder if it is Matty Longstaff from Newcastle. Rumoured to be going out on loan and a local airport!
  22. I'm not talking about grabbing Gazza's bollocks - but The direct, ball in the air, playing for set pieces and throw ins approach with a team full of 6ft plus lads.
  23. A club willing to take the direct ' old school direct' approach of the 80s Wimbledon and Beck's Cambridge would have a great chance of getting out of this league. Don't get me wrong, not a fan of that style of football, but given the current approach of tippy tappy possession football, a team taking that approach may well upset the applecart. We won't do it but somebody will.
  24. Boro fixture is a good test now. They are beatable. A draw and that's a pretty decent start. A win and it's a dream start under the circumstances. A loss and the worry would be that heads start dropping.
