Summer transfer window 2021.

We appear to be scraping the barrel with potential replacements for Armstrong. I can't muster any enthusiasm for the coming season. -

Not saying there aren't good players out there (hopefully Pickering is one). Difference is Gillingham fans raved about Dack. Crewe fans really rate Pickering. If his own fans don't rate him (Curtis) he isn't likely to be that good. -

On paper I'd have taken Madison from Peterborough over this lad. Similar age/stats. Madison has done next to nothing at champ level. Can't imagine this guy will do any better. Wouldn't go anywhere near unless around the 500k mark. -

Your eye doesn't lie! If a player looks shit, he generally is. -

Like the way reading bulldozed through our midfield earlier this season. None of ours could live physically with theirs. -

The close season so far, has the stench of that window under Bowyer where we offloaded all our decent players and signed frees. No way will any Armstrong sale money be 'reinvested' in the squad. -

Absoloutely this. We need a 6ft 4 Nzonzi type lad in the middle to give us a bit if presence. Too many small, light weight players as it is. -

If Armstrong and Rothwell both leave, we'll also be back to having the slowest 11 in the league. -

Can't get excited about this lad Curtis from Pompey. Anyone think he's decent? Does he have pace etc? -

I'd also back the Pompey fans judgement on a player over Mowbray's. Avoid. -

Now I read that as a kind of, 'despite the need to change, he stuck to his guns'. That stubbornness would have seen him sacked anywhere else. So he gives him a bit of credit for not changing his ideas - even though he should! -

Read the whole thing. Last part was based on accepting that Mowbray will remain. Which, for some reason beyond my comprehension, seems likely. -

Off on a bit of a random sidenote here... I know nothing about the lad who reports for Lancs Live - Jaquob Crooke - but have found his views and succinct reports enjoyable to read. https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/football-news/blackburn-rovers-season-review-campaign-20568207 He seems to have an exceptionally accurate handle on the whole situation. Written with a bit of flair as well. Streets ahead of anything that appears in the LT these days. -

Can't imagine Chapman will sign a new deal. He must be we'll fecked off with Mowbray. -

Johnson and Bennett are thick as thieves. If one stays, you can guarantee the other will. Both should be out the door. -

Has he gone yet? Every day he's here now is a day wasted. -

Nyambe is decent and could still improve as a right back, not a bloody wing back or whatever Mowbray does. The main clamour for Nyambe wasn't because he is amazing, it's because he is better there than Bennett - there wasn't anyone else who could play there till JRC hobbled up. It's a similar situation at Left back. This Pickering lad won't have to be amazing to look like a worldy there after Bell/Douglas. -

My gran would make a better number 9 than Brereton and she's been dead 30 years. -

I think initially it needed to be that way. Now though, there is no reason why we shouldn't proceed with normality once the Vax program finished.
