Still to think we could have got close to ten times what we have received two years ago is a little depressing.
Close to £20m, seriously?
Even if Chelsea were keen we would have got around 10 max.
-
I'm inclined to agree Jackson I hope Dunn can pick up his early season form but I fear he will never stay fit enough to justify us paying his wages
-
At least if a fee is agreed things will get moving for us in this window, the down side is the thing moving this way will probably be Beattie for more than we sell Benni for
-
Rovers very rarley release statements on anything until its concrete, I presume this is just a way of telling Benni we won't be bullied by him.
It's a shame it's come to this, Benni on form is a joy to watch, a brilliant player to have in your team when you're winning especially when he turns on the style.
I imagine Rovers are working furiously on the replacement and as soon as that is lined up Benni will be bye bye.
Why he couldn't just be professional and do the job he's being paid handsomely for is beyond me though
-
I've always defended benni but this latest episode is a disgrace and an insult to the fans who chant his name everyweek. No matter how he feels about the manager he has insulted the club by doing this if it's as reported. Fine him the maximum possible then get as much as we can which will now be considerably less
-
As I just said in the Kalinic thread I think this lad is the future of our club.
I'd like to see Hoilett playing off him one time
-
I think he's on his way but I'd rather he wasn't.
-
I'd like to try him in midfield and see what he has (Dunn this is). For me dunn being fit last week was a hinderance to us as he was useless and Benni would have offered more imo
Benni has to start tonight he's in the shop window and on national TV I'm sure he'll want to impress.

Finally saw Avatar, amazing, the story is basically Dances with wolves/pocahontas/Fern Gully but it doesn't matter cause it's so immersive.
On a side note why the fook is the fanta frozen machine not working everytime I go to Blackburn
-
Watched a film on Sky Movies Premiere called sureviellence, not earth shattering but half decent thriller.
Went to see Avatar 3D last week and it was sold out when I went.

I disagree. I'd forgotten about that until you posted it, but he wasn't pivotal enough to be remembered for it, rather people will remember that he was up front for that team should they choose to try and recall it.
Not many great players are key men in a Champions League winning team in their mid twenties but playing for Blackburn Rovers by their late twenties.
I think many will remember hi 2 goals to knock United out, I still do anyway

Benni McCarthy has been rubbish since his second season in England.
He's going through the same cycle MGP went through. I always slated MGP for his lack of contribution aside from his stunning goals, which were always going to dry up. For years I was constantly ridiculed/told I was this and that because people let him live of his first season for about 3/4 seasons.
McCarthy is a bad player now. Yes he has good control/skill levels, but he is fat, slow, not particularly strong and doesn't score even nearly the amount of goals he used to.
Andy Cole was far better at his age, and McCarthy is no better than Yorke was at 32. People hated Yorke, but he was never big and fat was he.
I have no idea where all the love for him comes from, maybe it's his past pedigree, which i find peculiar as his footballing epitaph will read 'UNDERACHIEVER DUE TO S*** ATTITUDE.'
If Allardyce gets £3m for McCarthy, it's up there with him getting £17m for Santa Cruz.
Not strictly true, the guy is 32 now and isn't as fit as he has been but I'm sure the lasting footballing memory of Benni will be being superb in a Porto team that won the Champions League, I think most players would be happy with that sort of career.
As for him being a bad player now, simply untrue imo.

You're right JAL, my response is knee jerk but such is the way I am feeling towards things at present I am not to hopeful of Sam bringing in someone close to Benni's class.
All eyes on you Sam
-
If the article is true it would be the straw that broke the camels back for me.
If i had to pick one to stay, Benni or Sam it would be Benni everytime.

Yep he played well, looked knackered at the end, he has to learn though he can't do all his tricks when playing in midfield it's too risky.
Did anyone doubt for a second when he got it at the end he'd score? shame the flag went up as Benni doesn't miss those.

I'm not watching Paranormal activity, I like my horrors but that doesn't look like my idea of fun.
Can't wait for the Princess and the Frog, proper Disney 2D animation.
The Nativity looks good for Xmas. Time to get the Xmas crackers out soon:
Muppets Xmas Carol
Home alone 1 and 2
Bad Santa
And of course National Lampoons Xmas Vacation
-
Woohoo Liverpool go out.
-
Sky movies is launching a christmas movies channel come december, as long as National Lampoons xmas vacation features then it's all good with me
-
Black horse near Castle cement again the other day, superb food, can't beat the chips.
Very homely place.
-
Did Craig Short not recently have a boating school in the lakes, did I read that on here?
-
Roberts proved on Saturday he can be a decent impact sub at times, never good enough to start though.
We have to keep Benni and find a place for him imo.
In theory in the summer or even January we could be in a situation where our only senior striker is the unproven Kalinic :S
-
Any planned for round here?
Don't fancy opening one in Rishton do you?
I've actually been impressed with the new 3D films I've seen at Vue recently, Up was visually stunning
-
Met with Disney yesterday, this is their attempt to keep the Pirates franchise going (loveable rogue, damsel in distress etc).
Oh, err, there's another Pirates in 2011.
If you don't mind me asking what kind of job do you do if you get to meet Disney reps?
I can't wait for the return to hand drawn animation with Princess and the Frog

That number 15 is a disgrace, she needs a banning for a while

Ah right I thought the fee agreed was 2.25 million I may be wrong or just plain guessing
