They've been incredibly lucky with the draw, they've got to the Semi's without playing a an elite team side. Despite the media hype this side is not a patch of the sides from 2002 & 2006.
It doesn’t need to be though.
We can get to the final without playing any of the favoured teams and then over 90 minutes it’s anybodies game.

This is insane, concvinced we are winning this World Cup, it Brazil were still there I’d be nervous but I think this is ours

We’ll take that!
-
Cagey start by both teams, we need to take control
-
Amazing we can win this while never having to play Brazil, Germany, Spain or Argentina.
I thought Brazil were the best team left and they are gone!
-
Neymar just put one on a plate for Coutinho but a shocking finish.
Whoever you face out of these two their flaws have been exposed here.
-
Blatant penalty; shocking decision that one.
-
Bolton have confirmed the game is off in a two sentence statement
-
Nobody to fear in this tournament!

I dont see us in for Maddison at 2.5 million pounds if we are in for Armstrong. Plus the need for another winger either Kent or Chapman.
Have I missed something linking us with Armstrong? Mowbray seemed quite dismissive of him before

I’m never overly invested through the qualifying stages admittedly then get fully on board at tournament time. Although I have to admit that it’s so much easier now we don’t have the likes of Rooney, Terry and Gerrard in there.
It doesn’t help that qualifiers disrupt the flow of the normal football season.
Absolutely loving all the ‘it’s coming home’ memes

Listening to some of the Man Yoo/Liverpool 'fans' in the office, going absolutely potty about England - much more than I've ever heard them when it comes to 'their' club, just shows how unattached to these megaclubs they really are.
Made me feel quite smug that I really support a proper/local football club with its accompanying highs and lows, that feeling of being really part of something, they only get a taste of our lives for a few weeks every other summer...
I can’t imagine supporting a club where unmitigated success is just the expectation, how can you truly appreciate it then?

I still think we will at least get to the final, may be the usual getting carried on a wave feeling but this time it’s different there isn’t a Brazil or Germany to get past in a quarter final!
We’ve had our chunk of good fortune with the way it’s panned out now it’s down to us to make the most of it, feels a once in a lifetime chance.

I just can't find myself getting too excited about young PL loans for a season.
Just racking my brain and how many players have we ever signed on loan (and NOT signed permanently) that have gone on to promising careers?
(Cariney, King, Rudy obvs don't count as they were made permanent, and players like Marcus Babbel etc were already established - even Santa Cruz and Bentley were garbage when they came back!)
I came up with Michael Keane... Any others?
My mate Bryan Dabo seemed to push on after playing a few games with our reserves.
Not setting the world on fire but currently at Fiorentina

No doubt we are interested in Chapman to be fair, he’s back from Austria with Boro I think now so if he hasn’t impressed Pulis too much now may be a good time

"We want to secure some of our players from last season as well, and we’re working towards one or two of them."
Mowbray quote from this https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/healthy-competition-will-raise-the-bar/
After Chapman and Armstrong then it appears
When he says ‘our’ players I think he’s talking about new contracts, if he was speaking a few days ago then Lenihan could have been one along with hopefully Dacky!

Probably just a first refusal clause in there in case he sets the world on fire

20% of £20m (£4m) from the second sale of Josh King could make all the difference to our team.
Cairney is also no lock to stay at Fulham with NUFC and WHU linked for around the same £20m fee which we must have a % of (I think he will/should stay).
We probably even have a World Cup related bonus for Phil Jones.
Maybe TM is saving up the £88m needed for Cristiano Ronaldo?
A journo that covers Fulham had it confirmed that there was no sell on clause for Cairney

Best thing about tonight is the penalty hoodoo has been buried and the players know they can go through that way if all else fails.
Indeed, we found ourselves in a situation where we would have normally gone out and we’ve come through it.

Never in doubt.

Can’t watch the shootout - nerves won’t hack it
-
Let’s be honest it’s going to be hilarious when a Colombian scuffs one in the shootout from the damaged spot

I still dont understand 5 mins when first half was 3 mins?
3 minutes stoppage before penalty was even taken, then 1 minute for the goal, 4 subs, I expected 6 or more minutes

Still massive favourites to win this one, keep calm.
If the Dingle on the post did his job that was game over though
