That *was* the January Window

I agree that his current scoring record has surpassed expectations, and there were times at the beginning of last season that he looked a little lost. However, even then he still chipped in with a few goals. -
…….. £10 a ticket, (max) or they probably will have more.

Come now, tomphil, we all know everything’s tickety boo since we changed the structure and have Broughton as DOF 😉 -

Blimey, if we were able to gazzump other clubs on wages, they can’t have been that bothered. -
If it’s on a tv channel that can be easily accessed (eg S4C) it needs to be £10 a ticket again, or Wrexham fans will outnumber us.

Maybe BBC Wales, I reckon.

I’m a train driver and occasional social care worker. If it was a requirement to be employed in football to post an opinion on here, it would be pretty quiet. Like you, I want the best for Rovers. -

We are 17th in the league, and falling. Certainly not all his fault, and he didn’t appoint himself. The perception was that he was the man behind a very strong Glimt youth team, with many of those players forming the backbone of a golden age for their first team. A Norwegian journalist enlightened us that his time at the club came after that. In the bigger picture, any failings are obviously down to the owners. Oh, and I don’t work in professional football, and neither do you. -

The blame for our current predicament (away from the brief, enjoyable escapism of a cup win against lower league opponents) clearly lies with the owners, and I agree that they are hardly a draw for a competent, experienced DOF. It doesn’t really matter what structure they install, because they have demonstrated time and again they are never going to run the club properly. Broughton is only our DOF because of the above, -

Patronising. You clearly hadn’t understood the context of my post. You are entitled to your opinion, but mine remains that Broughton is another chancer, typical of Venkys reign. -

Re - Szmodics, I think you need to scroll back a bit on this thread. I had heard previously that Broughton had little to do with his arrival. I understand the situation with the finances full well, thank you, and we all know that Venkys are the root cause of all the problems. When you’re skint, it’s even more important to have an experienced, skilled operator in a key, strategic role. As for the match, I posted yesterday that I enjoyed it and glad I made the effort. -

I think Broughton has been appointed to a position that is beyond his skill set. Yes, we are skint, which doesn’t help, but that’s all the more reason to appoint someone who has more experience at senior level. Broughton’s experience is at youth level. Many more Ennis and Telalovics and we’re knackered. -

The defence definitely needs reinforcing, but we still need a decent striker. We are ridiculously dependent on a couple of players, (one especially) for goals. If Szmodics gets injured we're going to be dire. -

I’m not sure who is taking Telalovic. I wasn’t joking when I said he wouldn’t get in Cambridge’s team. A four year deal for Ennis looks complete madness. I could see a League One club taking him on loan, but that’s about it. -

Agreed, it certainly was entertaining, and I'm glad I made the effort. Also agreed it was good to see a strong side being selected for a cup tie, a trait of JDT's tenure, thus far. A win is a win, and hopefully it will instil confidence in the players. What would we do without Szmodicz? , (who was playing in his own Cambridgeshire derby). As for Telalovic, sorry, but he wouldn't get in Cambridge's team. We still look all over the place at the back, and that is a worry when we play teams in our own league. -

Yes, and a fat lot of good he is for “the project” when he gets recalled. Another pointless, short term signing and doesn’t even pass the “adding value” test. Neither will the two who have arrived today, and how suitable are they for a relegation fight? It’s all futile. Championship survival is the height of our ambitions, and even that’s looking shaky. -

Well at least he’s got a chance of going up at Ipswich, (a club in League One last season), which is more than he would have here. -

When is our Ofsted inspection as a nursery? It’s just going too far. An obsession with youth development, and not even all our own youth. -

Which was obviously such a roaring success they felt the need to ship him out on loan. He'll probably never kick a ball for them again. -

We will soon be playing with a team of kids in League One. For me, Broughton is a typical Venkys chancer. I think JDT has gone past caring.
