You and I have agreed on this point before. Rothwell and Travis are 8’s, Buckley played as the 6 at Bradford and looked good. Yesterday was an opportunity to try that in our last game before the real stuff….

Biggest problem yesterday for the 5 at the back, was Davenport and Travis were absolutely diabolical. Never available for a pass, Travis doesn’t have the touch in tight areas of the pitch.

About the only bright spot from this preseason is that Buckley looks excellent, see a big difference in him from last year.

Magloire got absolutely roasted today from League 2 fodder, and Carter looked shaky too. We need a centre half badly.

Travis and Davenport are way too deep. There is three massive centre backs there, they don’t need you on their toes.

Yeah probably, Carter is close though I think, he got turned for the second Bradford goal pretty badly but done nothing else wrong. Hoping we see a 3-5-2 again.

So just 14 hrs before kick off and we still don’t know if the game tomorrow will be on Rovers TV or not?? This is Blackburn Rovers we are taking about here, we are a big club. What the actual f#%^ is going on at this club? Wondering if Administration might be the best medicine, everything is wrong.

Welcome back Gav. Our kids are playing this year whether we sign 4 premier league loans or not, that much is clear. We have lost 11 players. The thing that pisses me off soo much is everyone at the club should have known this stripped back version of the transfer window was coming, and the kids should have been playing the last 4 games of last season to see who could hack it. Instead we had to watch Mowbray with his pathetic self preservation ploy. Sickening, and now we go into the Swansea game next week non the wiser. The whole senior management setup at the club is an absolute farce top to bottom.

If we have nothing to spend, why is Mowbray still here? Its the end of the cycle, give someone else a go with the kids, he does not have a good track record. For the record I would be fine with leaning on the academy this year with a couple of solid loan signings, just not with Mowbray and the cronies.

So someone through the door tomorrow then, one way or another. At least it will give us something to talk about m. Think it’s Rothwell away, and either Reach in or Doyle on loan from City.

Sheff Utd had no problems trotting out the 3-5-2 every game to great affect two years ago, stormed the league.

Someone with a hint of nonse around Ewood needs to check the length and any release clauses of Buckley’s contract. Will be player of the year for us this year. Great show from the young rovers, something we can build on. It looked like a 3-5-2 with wing backs, but Buckley kept pushing wide right so maybe more of a 5-2-3, whatever it was we looked solid, and much better than the 4-3-3. Pickering I’m not too worried about, Raphinha is top class.

All of a sudden Buckley looks like a god. Huge season for him. I thought he looked much improved against Bradford sitting in front of defense, now he is right of the three and our stand out player in that first half. Big Carter and Mags played well too. Dolan full of energy as usual. Decent half and we actually look solid at the back in a 5.
