  1. How much do you think the budget should be? IL save my criticism of how much we spend or haven't spent until after the window. One thing I have to say I find odd is (,not talking about you specifically), why people are wanting Mowbray being allowed to spend more money on permanent signings when he is out of contract next season? And the same people want him gone?I could understand if they felt Mowbray was the man to take us to the next level but he clearly isn't. The Venkys certainly have to take some of the blame no doubt, it is under their watch and they allow these things to happen but this summer's budget is being dictated by the mistakes of the past few seasons were we have pissed away Money willy nilly on a raft of poor signings, giving long term deals to the wrong people and never selling players at the right time. All things that can be placed at Mowbrays and Waggotts door. FFP is playing a part in this aswell, they are getting harsher with some of the rules now and enforcing punishments. Not many clubs are making cash signings and yeah some teams moved early in the market and secured free transfer but for me only a few were any good and teams like Luton for example who have been quite active don't have the wage bill we have, have recently come up majority of their players were on league one wages they will have much more wiggle room than us as will most clubs. Teams with similar gates to us will have no way near as high a wage bill as us.Yeah we lost a load of players but that money needed to be reduced from our ridiculous wage bill. Every time Venkys have turned the taps off in the period we have been in the championship it is when the ffp cycle is coming to an end and we are either pushing the limit or over the limit.Even when Coyle was in charge we were not long out of a transfer embargo
  2. Leeds seemed to do alright out of loaning Ben White from Brighton. Never even heard of this centre half before today but Brighton paid a transfer fee to sign him, he played 28 games at senior level in the Dutch league last season so he may not be too bad. I understand people being angry at the signings we are making when they are nothing but short term options but for me this summer I think it is the way to go.I don't want Mowbray here anymore and don't want him being given the funds to bring people in on 2 or 3 year deals that a new manager might not fancy. Enough bodies will see us stay up ,there are more than 3 teams/squads worse than us and many managers not up to it too
  3. Last season Douglas and Trybull were brought in as experienced loans. They were useless Elliot and Harwood Bellis were good. We would all like experience, but any experienced Good player we would have to pay the majority of their wage
  4. He played 28 games in Holland last season Plus they paid 2.5 million to sign him
  5. I think we will get one more in this week and then they will wait till deadline day and see if clubs will drop demands at the last minute. At least another 3 will come in, another busy deadline day like last season
  6. We will bring more than one more loan In
  7. Mercer at most Poveda will be on 20k a week and in my opinion he won't even be on that much, Max we will be paying toward his wage is 50% and even then I don't think we will paying that for him.I don't think any possibility what we are paying for him will be in line with our top earners .
  8. Kaminski has another year after this one so wouldn't say he is as big a priority as Brererton who we paid such a big fee for
  9. Although I agree it isn't good practice we ain't the only club to have done this.Plenty of clubs sound out and speak with other managers whilst they still have a manager in place.
  10. They ain't giving him to us out of the goodness of their hearts, he is here to get minutes, increase his experience and value like orta said. What was the alternative for them?Leave him in their under 23s. We will not be paying the majority of his wages. Two weeks ago it was your understanding that Armstrong was sold for 12 leading to 15 which is incorrect also
  11. Echo what Tomphil said .He hasn't done much in terms of numbers since he has been here and can only really be described as a regular in his time here.We got him on. Free transfer and he is likely to leave here the same way
  12. Agreed that the contract situation is very worrying. But we do not know what these players want to renew. We need players in we are very short on numbers and personally I don't want Mowbray being given the money to bring in a handful on permanent as if a new manager is appointed next season he may not fancy them and will leave us with even more dead weight to try get rid of, and as seen in the past it's easier said than done, we end up paying up their contracts. If the loan signings help keep us in this division then they will be worth it.Our young players will get opportunities but the people who believe more than 4 or 5 of our under 23s will be ready to play this season then that are being overly positive
  13. He signed for them when they where a championship club, has not extended his contract in that time.I just don't believe we will be paying the majority of his wages. Orta from Leeds said the move is about gametime and they wouldn't have had many takers if they expected the majority of his wages paying. Besides weren't you saying earlier in the summer we have hardly any money and can't spend and now you are saying we have brought in a Leeds under 23 and had to make him one of the best if not the best paid player at the club to make it happen?
  14. He is only on 11k a week at Leeds?I doubt very much we will be paying 100% of his salary. So he won't be our highest earner I look forward to finding out who this Liverpool player is🙂
  15. Have the people at the club that you know given any indication if a striker will be signed or not?
  16. He wouldn't start Chapman anyway.Oddest contract renewal ever, I have no idea why Chapman signed it.Great cameo against Forest and Mowbray only gives him 12 minutes against West Brom
  17. I'm not going to get into a big debate with you again over this. But one simple question is there many clubs making permanent cash signings this summer in the Championship? Even the free transfers, probably a hand full I would have been happy with us signing. One of the reasons we are in this position, is throughout the Venky reign,we have handed out lucrative contracts and paid transfer fees for players who were either sub standard or ageing with only a year left capable of playing at this level but we hand them 2 year contracts with a years extension. I am satisfied with loan signings unless money is spent on someone who is either a young player with potential and ready to play now or someone no older than 28 who is not injury prone. Most of us want the manager out so would be beyond stupid to want the owners to allow Mowbray to hand out more 2 year deals to 30 somethings who a new manager probably will want rid of
  18. Totally agree what you say about the owners apart from the just covering losses part ,they have given competitive funds since Mowbray here and when we first came down agreed to spend silly money stupidly. But Mowbray has had a very big hand in the situation we find ourselves in.He will have meetings etc with the finance people and would have known were we stood. It was on his recommendation that lucrative and long term deals were given to the "men" in the dressing room only for 5 minute later the likes of Mulgrew on way out and we had to pay him for nothing for 2 years.Plus the decision to spend 12 million quid on two young players was on his recommendation. You keep making out we should feel sorry for Mowbray that we can't do anything in the market when it is his mistakes that put us in this position
  19. Yeah the underlying issue is who they put in place to run the club, have never disputed that. My argument here is the people on the ground are the ones who got us into an embargo.Mowbray would have known the situation, there is absolutely no doubt about that.
  20. How are the owners at fault for the embargo that restricted us? They employ people to deal with that sort of thing.The.people on the ground Waggott and Cheston etc are the ones at fault for that. Are you trying to say that Mowbray had no idea what was coming?I don't believe that for one minute.Waggot , Cheston, Mowbray and the rest working on the ground would know what was likely to happen. Mowbray says different things to the media every time he is interviewed.Just before Armstrong was sold he said in an interview that a little bit of money would be spent on a permanent signing. The owners are shit, they do put money in though that can't be disputed. They Pay the majority of the wage bill and have given money for signings every season that Mowbray has been here. The biggest problem with our owners is who they leave in charge to run the club .Most owners do not get involved with the day to day running of their clubs they put competent people in place
  21. Same story with Longstaff https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-matty-longstaff-loan-21348396
  22. They want him to sign a years extension before letting him out according to reports
  23. Nixon saying Blackpool have had 500k bid turned down for Sale.Crewe want 1 million
  24. I presume he means flew in(not from one of the Manchester clubs) and with his parents (young)
