Ipswich will be one of the favourites to go down , and if they do I'd much prefer to have Szmodic in a side trying to get back up than Delap.Delap had 2 poor years in the championship followed by half an excellent season for Hull.Szmodic wages will be miniscule in comparison too.

I don't even think 9 or 10 would be a fair price , I think they might take between £10-£12 million but with the season he just had and some of the other fees paid out this summer imo £14/15 million would be reasonable If we sold him for say £9 million and you then take into account, the transfer fee already paid, the sell on to Peterborough, Szmodic will probably be due a slice ,wages already paid we would be making a few million profit on a guy who was top scorer in the league and scored 30+ goals in all comps.And his sale will probs lead to relegation unless a good chunk goes back into the team (most of us know that will not happen) I get the argument about age and not playing in the premier league but what age was Vardy when he debuted in the prem couple years younger than Szmodic(not saying Szmodic is Vardy level) but if Ipswich where to pay £12 million for Sammie and they got relegated they would have a very good player at this level to get them back up.His wages won't be extortionate either in comparison to other players they could buy.

And I still think if it true that £8 million is the figure he would be gone already Won't get 15 or 20 but someone might gamble at 12 it would be beyond daft to agree to let him go for £8 million ,why wouldn't that clause have been put in his contract if they all agreed to it

Someone on here has been saying that Szmodic and the club have an agreement to leave for an £8 million. Can't remember which poster and not accusing him of lieing (I'm sure he/she has been told this) but I find it hard to believe.Why would we agree to that?Surely there just would have been a release clause set at £8 million in his contract . And if he truly was available for £8 million he would be gone already .Teams would definitely take a punt at that price
