Alaba has played a lot at centre back in recent years Costacurta was another left footed centre back who was excellent ,Walter Samuel wasn't bad either I'm struggling to think of an English left footed centre back that was top level tho

Not alone I agree ,i think he will become a good midfielder at championship level. A loan playing every week is what he needs

If you are playing 2 centre halves I'd agree but if we play 3 at the back then one being left footed does give much better balance.Personally I'd be much more comfortable if a left footed defender was added, wether that be a centre back or left back capable of playing at centre back

Elliot saying no fee has been agreed for Szmodic yet If there truly is some sort of gentleman's agreement allowing him to leave I can't understand why a deal hasn't been done already.
