What evidence is there loads of clubs where going to be bidding for him?He was available for £18.5 in January, paid in installments only £6 million would have gone on the books that season so not having ffp as an excuse why others couldn't have bid in January. His reputation rightfully grew due to him proving himself in the premier league, I honestly don't believe we would have had a host of clubs willing to pay much more than £20 million for him.Again il repeat he was wrongfully being overlooked for the under 21s, read an article that Newcastle considered him but had serious doubts over his stamina and ability to handle the pace and 90 minute at premier league

Well it is he wasn't just a championship player he had played at a higher level I'm not arguing I would pay more for Wharton but when Wharton was available and we where desperate sellers he had only one club in at that "little" price of £18.5 million.Like others have said on here the data was leading clubs away from Wharton

Don't think he plans to start ohashi after him playing all the game other night .Gueye will start I reckon and he will bring Dolan back in for Siggurrdson -
But my point is a poster on here said Szmodic would be RIGHT to kick off if we dont let him go to Ipswich and rovers wrong for not accepting the bid .He signed a contract in November with no release clause that we know of.Rovers have every right to ask what they want for him and anything under 10 million is a joke imo yet Rovers are a disgrace for not doing a deal at £8.5
-
If you say so So if the bid is/was £8 million that was rejected Szmodic would be right to kick off and Rovers would be wrong to deny him his move to the prem? People ARE making out that it's Rovers in the wrong and Rovers are the reason he hasn't got his move. The reported bid that was rejected was £6 million....Ipswich would have to add a lot to that to make a bid acceptable imo
-
Again I think Szmodic is still a rovers player because nobody has bid enough. Did Suhail advise them not to sell Rothwell, not to negotiate a Brererton departure? To let Nyambe and Lenihen run their contracts down. Like I keep saying £6 million wa s widely reported as Ipswichs first bid that is way off what we should be accepting
-
If Rovers went back on their word over a fee they would sell Sammie for ,then I would have expected a transfer request and Szmodic not playing. You say that you would just "expect Ipswich to pay it" but various media outlets had their first bid at £6 million which is quite clearly Ipswich taking the piss not rovers. I for one am absolutely delighted Szmodic is still at the club and Sammie is performing.
-
What do you think we should accept for Szmodic? Various media outlets had their first bid at £6 million.Which is way way too low. Szmodic is under contract here and even the figures of 8/9 million is too low. Szmodic is playing and playing well we should be looking for as much as we can get for him....this gentleman's agreement doing the rounds makes zero sense...why would a clause not have been put in his latest contract?
-
Why would Rovers promise Szmodic he could leave for a certain fee? I dont think it is Waggott holding it up, I just think no club has bid enough. But if we follow your thinking then surely we should be happy with club in this instance? Szmodic has already helped us get 3 points in the league and through to the next round of the cup

Ipswich first bid that was reported was £6 million pounds,an embarrassing bid for the championship top scorer. Its quite clearly Ipswich that are not meeting Szmodic valuation. And at the end of the day even if it is rovers who are holding it up then who cares? He is playing in the games so far and scoring goals. Some on here just want us to accept whatever bid Ipswich have put in.Its madness
