For a club like us who spend little money every window the data led approach is a necessity in my opinion. Obviously it's early days but on their performances so far then Ohashi and Gueye look two bargains and they would not have been found without a data led approach. Stoke decided to pay £1.6 million for a striker with champion experience and a player their head coach will be familiar with Sam Gallagher. We signed our two lads for less, and they will be on less money than Gallagher too. Again I think Eustace is doing a very good job in what he was employed to do ,coaching the team and picking up results just not comfortable with some of the names it's speculated he has his heart set on like Dembele

2? Dembele, Ruddy, Stansfield,Pak, the young midfielder from Birmingham this morning...that's 5 The media haven't mentioned a player he wants that hasn't played for him yet Sourness hadn't worked with Neill before...Tugay and Friedal where internationals who came here after only plating top flight football...a bit different than raiding league one Birmingham

Am I professing I know more than Eustace?By the way he is head coach...not the manager?. There is a difference most head coaches don't have much of a say in recruitment Dembele spells on the bench at every club he has been at.Woeful goals and assist record. I think it would be a poor signing and I think better can be found for the same money both fee and wages he is likely to cost .Be a lazy signing too plumping for someone the head coach knows

The clue should be the fact Eustace was appointed Head coach not manager. You are 100% correct in what you said about Brentford and Brighton, both head coaches trusting in the recruitment and not giving lists of ex players to sign It's a different story if Eustace was promised he could sign who he wants if it came within budget , but you would expect his title to be manager if that was the case
-
But eustace admitted he had little to do with Ohashi and Gueye?Would you not say they have been good signings so far? Imo recruitment should be presenting a list of players for the head coach to look at and then he makes a decision The thing that is making me most uncomfortable is that every target that has been mentioned as a player Eustace is keen on are all ex players of his Ruddy and Dembele wouldn't be good signings imo
-
I am going off what unleaded said...he was over ruled on Gueye and Ohashi...Eustace admitted he had little to do with those signings. I never said Eustace wanted Hogan as you well know I said hypothetically if he had the choice of Hogan or Ohashi I'd expect him to pick the player he knows If this Yeboah is a genuine target by recruitment and Eustace had a choice between him and Dembele again I'd expect Eustace to plump for Dembele due to working with him before. That does not mean Dembele would be the better signing
-
Where any of JDTs signings picked out by him/ex players? Recruitment found players available for the positions wanted and then JDT had the final say on who to pursue, that I can agree with What I don't agree with us us seemingly restricting ourselves to signing the head coaches ex players John eustace will have no idea if their is a better player than Dembele in Japan, China or timbuktu, but the recruitment side might

It's my opinion that Ruddy and Dembele ain't good options. Your argument seems to be that Eustace wants them so that is all that matters. Being presented a group of players by recruitment and the head coach choosing the best option fair enough, but the head coach insisting on ex players I'm not keen on especially when in my opinion the players are either past it or inconsistent with no end product
-
I said previously I think he is doing a good job of coaching and setting up the team it has nothing to do with JDT.The players Eustace supposedly wants are leaving me underwhelmed, recruitment did a good job with Gueye and Ohashi and I'd like to see what else they can bring in instead of the likes of Ruddy or Dembele
-
Recruitment are looking at players all over the world, the manager seemingly wants players he has worked with before. He has admitted he knew little of Ohashi and Gueye If he was presented with Ohashi or Scott Hogan as a signing then I'd expect Eustace to plump for Hogan due to familiarity and league experience, that doesn't mean Hogan would be the right signing. Eustace is head coach not the manager, said it himself his job is to coach the squad
-
My point is I think recruitment should be leading our signings not Eustace like it is at most clubs now and I don't rate the players that the head coach supposedly wants Mowbray signed ex players and players from his ex clubs none where a great success You sign Eustace ex players then he finds himself sacked or quits then we are left with those players No point bringing in Park, Gestede and Owen just to sign players from the managers phone book
-
If he wants the recruitment team to find someone different fair enough, but if he is insisting on Dembele and blocking other signings then I don't agree with that I don't want Ruddy here and I'm not that keen on Dembele either, I'm not really arsed if Eustace rates them or not ,like someone else said Mowbray had a fascination with it or signing from ex clubs I do think Eustace is doing a good job of coaching and setting up the team but the game has moved on from when managers had all the say with recruitment
