I'm going off the keepers that we were linked with like Travers,Rushworth...even Ruddy, we wouldn't have been looking at those names if Eustace had indicated he was satisfied with Pears as number 1 Time will tell but Pears is making mistakes nearly every match so i really hope that a decision hasn't been made to stick with Pears and Toth has been brought in as number 2

Don't need to see quotes. The goalkeepers we were being linked with most summer would have been number one....Rushworth, Travers,De lange etc. The team have started well. I just don't think Pears has played well this start of the season, he has had moments of absolutely rubbish goalkeeping and only an unreal block by tronstad and a bit of luck against Burnley when he came out into no man's land we would have conceded at least 2 more goals this season I don't believe he would be number 1 at any other championship club.If he does lose his place to Toth and decides he wants to leave as he should be a number 1, I don't see any club at this level or above buying him as a first choice goalkeeper .

Again Whalstedt was a shit goalkeeper. Plenty of foreign goalkeepers have come over here, played almost straight away and done well

I don't think Pears has played well this season ,accident waiting to happen .In near every game he has made mistakes, even on Saturday coming out for a cross he was never going to get to that Foster near scored from Eustace clearly wanted a new number 1 the other keepers being linked.Now Toth wasn't his pick but recruitment don't look to have done too bad with the other players . Not every foreign goalkeeper that hasn't played in the league before Is gonna be crap like Wahlstedt,and Pears has not looked good so I would be putting this fella in

Who said that is the plan? I doubt very much the plan is to keep developing Pears when the club where looking for a new number 1 in the summer.The plan was obviously bringing in a new number 1 goalkeeper. And just because Eustace didn't sign Ruddy or Rushworth doesn't mean that he decided Pears will be number 1 and we will sign a number 2 to challenge him instead .Toth could be 20x the goalkeeper Pears Is for all you and I know.

It might be Pears in the next game due to Toth being away with Hungary. I disagree with your statement that ,"Pears is still clearly number 1" though.The goalkeepers targeted in the summer paints the picture that Eustace doesn't have confidence in Pears as a number 1 and like I said in my previous post Pears has looked Shaky in all our league matches and has made mistakes that could have easily led to more goals being conceded We will see but the showing by our other foreign signings Ohashi and Gueye give me confidence that Toth will be a lot better than Whalstedt

How do you get up to speed without playing games though?Again maybe Whalstedt was just a poor keeper , I don't think it would have mattered if he could have spent a longer time on the bench and wasn't put in so quickly due to Pears injury.He just wasn't suited to the game over here and all round looked a shit goalkeeper. Eustace doesn't want Pears as number 1, that is clear by the goalkeepers targetted in the window. And Pears has looked far from steady ,making mistakes in every game but getting away with it If Toth has been scouted properly then he should be coming straight into the team, I don't see the sense in waiting, the coach clearly doesn't have confidence in Pears to be his number 1

Eustace isn't happy with Pears as his number 1 Just because Wahlstedt was poor plenty of foreign goalkeepers that have never played in England before have come over and done well. We might not know much about Toth but pretty sure recruitment will ,Pears isn't a long term option. Get Toth in ASAP

Probably no chance we sign either permanently, Cozier-Duberry only joined Brighton in the summer and if Beck does well ,another championship club will buy him as Liverpool will be looking for more than our owners will pay

We do give our talents time on the bench .Phillips was on the bench most weeks ,and got a nice bit of gametime Finnernan again made the bench last season, and got some minutes but he was 15, I'd be absolutely raging with the club if they where bringing him on in important games just on the hope he might stick around for a bit and venkys might get a transfer fee down the line If tyjon is ready to contribute, then yes he should get some minutes, but if he isn't ready then I wouldn't be giving him minutes purely to get him to sign a contract here You don't know which way it will go with kids that age, Batty was being talked about along with A.Wharton and Phillips, now he looks way way off being a championship player

Totally disagree with this. Results come first.Even if we gave the kids games it no guarantee they will stay. So season before last when we were going for top 6 , you would have given Phillips more starts In the hope he would stay with us? If they ain't ready you don't play them.
