Eustace clearly wants a new number 1 Fair enough doesn't look like Toth was a Eustace pick but the club were actively pursuing Rushworth and Travers on loan, neither would have been coming here to be a number 2 goalkeeper. Same goes for De Lange. None of us know much about Toth and he is coming from a weak league ,but he will be coming here to be number 1, we don't go into the market looking at the likes of Travers or Rushworth if Eustace is happy with Pears -
John Eustace - our head coach

The club where probably worried he would walk straight into another job last summer and they would have wanted compensation. It's like Ashworth at Newcastle, why couldn't he just resign and take the United job -

Toth will be away for international duty Not sure if Duberry is involved with any of the England underage teams -
We missed out on De Lange by not moving quickly enough and paying the fee that his club wanted , I think it was rumoured at the time we where £400k short on their valuation, now he was clearly further up their list than the guy we have eventually signed (I'm not saying the new fella is a bad signing, I know nothing about him, ohashi and Gueye have looked good so let's hope he can be similar. But still after the money brought in its so small time to lose out on a preferred target for as little as £400k I didn't want Dembele, the manager did and supposedly recruitment wanted something else, but nothing was signed for the left hand side. Where did that money go that was going to pay for that. Half our signings leave in 12 months time The signings we have made look good and potential bargains but still plenty of unknowns aswell We should have been able to strengthen a lot more longer term with the funds brought in This can't work long term if we want to at least stay in the championship you can't keep selling your better players for millions and replacing them for peanuts

I'd say Baker and Beck will both make the bench .Baker has been on the bench for Stoke so I just see him going straight on our bench, probably why he was done quicker than the others excluding Beck he is ready to go.Even if Pickering makes it they will want cover on the bench and Beck had a proper pre season. Be after the break when we see Cantwell and Duberry.Does Duberry go away for the underage internationals or Id he not involved. Be good if he was with us during the internationals -
That money won't be seen again now .Kaminski, Szmodic,Phillips, Adam Wharton,Brereton Diaz all gone since the end of 23 season amongst others 4 of them contracted to Premier league clubs and 40 odd million added to the club accounts and all we get is pennies spent in return with more than half our buisness a sticking plaster lasting 12 months I've had a few beers now so I'm ranting but will this nightmare ever end
-
With the money brought in I think the club should have invested money on a couple of young attackers, and brought another defender in and spent on a proven goalkeeper (not saying the guy we signrv won't turn out to be a bargain) but he clearly wasn't first choice and we should be able to afford slending £2 or £3 million on a goalkeeper opening up a wider market I'm satisfied with what we have done but extremely pissed off with what we haven't done and have to say if they don't send money over soon next season our budget could be back to no fees being spent and only loans...the really cheap ones

Waggott was the one who first mentioned previous lists. Now Brittain il accept was a previous target But like I said Broughton Publicly dispelled Szmodic being on a list and credited Rosen.I can forward you the podcast if you would like to view it?Can you show me quotes from the club that Szmodic was on a previous list? I'm not being arsey with you here and maybe Broughton is lieing, but I don't remember anything mentioned about Szmodic being on previous lists other than from a few members on here who had been told this by waggott
-
You take waggots word for that?I've never heard him say that publicly, in the comfort of his office to a few individuals. Broughton said different on a podcast available to anyone to listen too, the Szmodic wasn't on any list and it was Ben Rosen who identified and pushed for Szmodic to be a priority target Broughton wasn't head of recruitment anyway his job wasn't to identify and scout players, we had a head of recruitment, scouts and analysts for that. Ultimately had big say along with Jdt who we eventually went for from the lists compiled on a whole most were poor signings. And the people in recruitment do look a lot better now But Szmodic was brought in under Broughtons watch so credit where credit is due It makes me laugh that people on here know Waggott tells lies like, but will go off what he says when it comes to suiting a narrative about Broughton.

If we can only afford to spend and bring in the players we did after 40 mil worth of sales what's paying for the players we need to replace next summer. Big questions still need answering. What is the plan going forward. I'm really not looking forward to Waggott talking about the window trying to mask the lack of fees paid out by the bargain signing of Cantwell and talking up the Brighton lad.Not saying both don't look good signings they do but I guarantee not one single media will press him on the minuscule amount spent on permanent deals .No way can we continue at this level if our signing pool is limited to players that cost under £1 million
-
Been a win for the owners .Spend nothing yet have Rovers fans spunking over a "fantastic window" Let's get this right, recruitment/Eustace look to have done well with the budget. But the budget was a disgrace when you take into account the shit window last summer and the money brought in in the last 12 months. Until Cantwell is announced we have signed 3 first team signings whose contracts last longer that the current season.
-
We have brought 40+ million in in sales. We haven't made a signing above £1 million. If we can't spend money on permanent deals after 40 million worth of sales then when can we? Stop buying that bullshit we would be in trouble for spending some money this window. We could spend money without it impacting us if the owners chose to
