  1. Players get a loyalty payment for not requesting the transfer they don't get their contracts paying in full if the money on offer is the same or above their current deal. If Brererton was on 20k per week here and we sold him to a team who were only paying him 15k per week then we would have to pay him off that 5k per week(if a settlement couldn't be reached) not the full 20k Barca owe De Jong wages
  2. We wouldn't be paying his contract up.Transfers wouldn't happen if that was the case So when we sold Rhodes we had to pay off the remaining years left on his contract at 35k per week? And he walks into another 4 year contract at Boro on the same money or better than he was on here? Payoffs only happen if the player leaving is joining a club on a less lucrative contract which Brererton wouldn't. Do you think Barca had to pay Neymars contract off when he joined PSG?
  3. He is but had no interest in even discussing a move here
  4. Plus teams will lose players to injury(like Everton with Lewin), need a goal threat etc. With some of the fees paid for other players this window think it more likely some team will come in meeting our valuation before the window closes. Be a shame if he does go as we won't be signing a threat as good as him with budget we are likely to have for a replacement.
  5. Played poor yesterday but Obafemi Is decent and will get better. After a slow start at Swansea he scored 12 and assisted 3 in 32 apps last season not a bad contribution
  6. In fairness to Mowbray I was critical of the Hedges signing but really liking the look of him
  7. Exactly start him in the cup midweek
  8. I don't think they will to be honest. They already signed Egan and Bellis(,who Kompany knows and City will Want him playing) from City and have been talking to Metz over a 25 year old centre half .If they bring another centre half in which they may do I'd expect it to be someone older and more experienced than Van Hecke.
  9. Do you not think you want to be in the "right camp " aswell? Not looking for an argument but you keep saying this and putting "Buckley fans" all in the same group. Not seen it this season but multiple times last season when a match was going on the very minute Buckley missed a chance or misplaced a pass you would be on here calling him out for it and more or less saying "told you so" to all us "Buckley Fans"
  10. All the Buckley lovers? You mean the majority of the message board?
  11. Van Hecke is right footed and at this stage he isn't better than either Webster or Dunk.Colwill a left footer so presumably it be between himself and Veltman to play as the left sided centre back
  12. A centre back should be the priority now, if Ayala or Wharton pick up an injury we are goosed. If we are really interested in Styles and Bowler then I wouldn't expect those deals to be completed until toward the end of the window. With all due respect to us we haven't made the playoffs since being down here and both players will be wanting to see who comes in for them before committing to a deal with us imo.Especially Bowler who had firm interest from both Bournemouth and Forest last season
  13. But surely to give a proper judgement will be at the end of the window. Like I said im not doing cartwheels over signing another young lad on loan but at the same time I won't be using it as a stick to beat Broughton with. It was more your suggestion premier league kids is the best Broughton can do that I took issue with. Im not saying Broughton is the answer Or saying he has done good/ he will good just think a fairer time to pass judgement will be when the window is shut. I still expect some money to be spent on 3 permanents
  14. Van Hecke was a kid from Brighton. Elliot was a kid from Liverpool. I'm not that happy about taking Morton but let's not pretend we are the only team in this division that brings in young players on loan from Premier league teams. That kid from Chelsea who Huddersfield had last season did alright similar the kid Forest signed.
  15. You quote my posts enough. And you quote everything Chaddy puts on here usually rubbishing his view point. He wasnt great at the weekend but did we create anything for him?His finishing is one of his biggest strengths. All I'm saying is after one game ,it's too early to make a judgement by me you or anybody else on here.Jdt worked with him over a month and he saw fit to give him a start.
  16. Or we could give him a few more games before we rule him not good enough No offence but you been wrong enough plenty of times Buckley being the prime example. And exactly Buckley was poor mostly when he was in and out only when he had a consistent run of games did he start proving his worth
  17. He pressed alright. No dispute we need another striker BUT young players need a run of games as seen before here and elsewhere.Buckley got better and better with gametime as did others.
  18. For crime drama junkies Animal kingdom on prime is well worth a watch
  19. Credit to Brererton not his most productive performance yesterday but was fully committed and any transfer speculation doesn't look like it has got to him. Similar with Szmodic showing character playing for his club yesterday with a move imminent. Unlike Armstrong whose head wasn't right.
  20. That was Sam Barnes.Centre half
  21. He was 19th man yesterday. Maybe it's just a case of the management team trusting Barnes more at this point. Perhaps Phillips just isn't quite ready for Championship football at this time. Not saying your suggesting this but he shouldn't be given gametime just to try tempt him to sign a new deal.
  22. Nixon has a bit about Bowler to Forest today. No mention of us
  23. Off topic but papers reporting Benni Mcarthy set to join Manchester United's coaching team
