They didn't know nor care who they were getting into bed with so i doubt it mattered at the time, a few years later it was a different story but we were the EFLs problem by then. As for since then for whatever reason promotion has never been a priority so we have to assume losing huge sums annually has been ok with them. Only now when they either can't spend it or there isn't enough spare anymore has it become an issue and that's because they are finally being scrutinised.

Ryan Nelsen interview in the LT
tomphil replied to Adam C's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Probably came from the extensions and new terms Anderson handed to all the seniors to avoid mutiny when they sacked Allardyce and promoted the snake. Then he went round offering them 75% settlements to get them off the payroll. Must've made some good % out of all that double dealing. -

What a player and what a guy, all for free ! Glad he mentions about the robotic nature of younger players now it's something iv'e mentioned many times. Flair and individuality and rough diamond characteristics gone forever now. Some good in that but some bad as well in terms of entertainment and intrigue. -
Isn't Cheston just basically the club accountant ? So no guy in India finance or otherwise will have the first scooby about day to day accounts of a professional football club several thousand miles away. That was always a non starter and Waggot is just basically CEO in name only and just the day to day football club admin guy so he won't be going anywhere yet either.

From the looks of his cv his involvement with VH seems to be on the investment and property side of things. That could be quite interesting. Are we going to see the potential return to the push for a smaller once size fits all training facility on a cheap brownfield site in town. Whilst cashing in on the remaining 2 of the large 3 leafy countryside Brockhall sites ?

I'm clearly pointing out there are enough fans going in there in a game like this to comfortably cover the costs, why alienate anyone from attending. Your second point is plain daft there'll be no more than 150/200 tops on a Weds night it's hardly a fixture the nutters would target. They could very comfortably be put in the far end of JW lower and use that for away fans instead there's more than enough room for segregation.

Nowt significantly good ever happens regardless of background noise. Several years ago post relegation we had a full audit, the significant control names on companies house were altered from all 4 to the 2 brothers. And back in India quite a few of their offices were being raided by the authorities due to abnormal amounts of cash transactions. Then it all went quiet and we were left to drift again with budgets signed off but no spending money. Agree there is a feeling of something brewing but it'll blow over, next big event will be another relegation before anything else.

It would have made far more sense to just close the Darwen end and relocate 200 visiting fans. No way does 1500/2000 punters even at reduced rates not at least cover the cost of half a stand opening.

So he's going to work from India so not exactly hands on. We already have a comms director for between here and India, we already have a Venkys finance director based in India so how many do you need ? My guess is this is nothing more than window dressing to appease authorities. Nothing will change except the new lesser budget will continue to be tightened.

Vastly reduced profits on one of their main companies, new tax levy on outward going finance taking some blame, then properties being seized to the tune of 7 million. But we can't have a thread about it because they haven't gone bust and they haven't sold the club ! By the way before all this we sold a fixed asset called the training ground, doesn't matter how, to who etc anything like that is always a big red flag that there is trouble on the horizon.

You'd have to go down there and prize open a few heads to spray in some WD40 to get the rusted cogs going before they'd ever come up with anything like that. To them it's just sod it we'll charge a tenner, get 5k in and celebrate saving a few grand from having the BBE closed regardless of losing a good few off the gate.
-
Its died a death because the brief news only became public knowledge a few days ago and until there is some more there isn't really a lot more to say. Perhaps you should avoid the thread and leave it for people to vent their views on the ownership, meanwhile you could start your own pro ownership thread and point out why you love them ? There'll be nothing more on this now unless the investigation turns up something else or it gets dropped.

Not much sign of coffee slurping groupies these days. This is exactly the kind of thing he is good at though and why he was at clubs like Charlton and Coventry when they were going backwards. Great at often pointless penny pinching just for the sake of it but absolutely zero idea how to read the room or make bold forward moving steps when they have been really needed. There is no way this guy dreamt up the DoF and head coach model here and identified JDT unless it was purely another cost cutting plan. Chocolate teapot.

The brains of Britain CEO has probably lost a thousand fans off this one already whilst reducing atmosphere even further and giving the young team a completely empty home end to kick into. He's a real dick this fella.

We've made a 4 year contractual commitment to Ennis and the fact he was so keen to come kind of says money had a part in it. So probably not the cheap gamble a lot seem to think it is as it's unlikely we'll get much of fee if he's sold on at some point.

That's why hes ended up here then. Someone has seen him as a project thinking we have better standards here fitness and treatment wise ( no way am i saying this is true just echoing some of JDTS hints). We've been this road any times before and it never works, he dos look decent though from the bits we've seen. Hopefully a cold Northern winter will toughen him up a bit. Great to see Plymouth back at this level i don't recall that many games between us in the years iv'e been a Rover. Should always be an upper end Championship club really should Plymouth with the size of it.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
tomphil replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You couldn't get two more different guys or coaches although JDT is a lot younger to be fair and also less weary. Only time will tell who turns out the best i hope we get to find out and i hope Mowbray doesn't get sacked in summer and the supertanker doesn't come to pinch this one. Would love to see what he could've done with TMs budgets and fees of 5 and 6 million ! -

No he really wasn't his job was stay up, get promoted then 100% feet up cup of tea and settle in for the midtable journey. There are a lot of things to be grateful to TM for in the first two years but he was never burning with anything.
