  1. And you'd never ever bet against similar happening again that's why there's a rush from a lot of fans to try and get promotion then at least the Prem money and parachutes would keep the club solvent for a while. Well as long as it takes for someone else to figure out how to bleed most of it away that is !
  2. It doesn't really matter about Tosin he'll have to wait his turn and if he goes back he goes back they'll just have to shape themselves and get someone else. When you're keeping clean sheets and both are your full time players it's a no brainer to me.
  3. I'd say it as much down to Nelson, Samba and one or two other senior pros grabbing hold of the dressing room that gave the likes of Hoilett at least some platform to produce on, which he did to be fair. Greedy lazy little toad though who got offered -allegedly- 65k pwk but still chose to move. Mind you we don't know what % of that Kean & Anderson might have wanted back !
  4. Never ever thought that you could tell he was another little billy big balls straight off but like a lot of players with genuine talent it seems part of their make up, just not prepared to do the dirty work week in week out. He did look like he might be a Prem regular though and maybe catch the eye of a genuinely big club but more likely a West Ham or some other plodders. Think he was taking his advice from Samba though judging by his pursuit of the biggest wages rather than the football.
  5. We should be able to trust Bell enough to step in for the odd game otherwise what's the point of him. We also should be able trust the manager enough to put Cunnigham straight back in as first choice he's clearly head and shoulders above anyone else here in that position. These are the tough ruthless choices TM has to make these days if he's true to his bold words early summer.
  6. Typical Fury fanboy gets presented with a few facts and then goes off on one slagging other fighters and drug cheats ??? Listen don't keep digging me out on him it's the only time to post here to blow smoke up his hole if you want to be strung along with his nonsense whilst he makes as much money as he can before pulling another stroke sooner or later that's your choice. The penny will drop sooner or later like it has for many others who now see through his charade it the biggest sting on tv money and punters since A Farce himself. As for fawning over Joshua i think you'll find iv'e always thought he's beatable someone was going to nail that static chin sooner or later but no one expected it to be Ruiz. It would never be Fury though because the illusionist has shit out on two offers to fight him and he can't punch holes in a tea bag at top level. He's hard to hit but whenever his whiskers get brushed he's on his arse, it's coming make no mistake it's coming.
  7. My take on it is he's sick of it now and he's stuck in a contract with Matchroom he can't get out of so he's cashing in on the remnatch in case it's his last, for a while at least. He'll go shit or bust and either get him out of there early and get battered again. Very different characters, backgrounds and fighters and in a different way but shades of Tyson and his coming apart when the pressure finally told. He's known only one thing and that's having it his own way. Shame because up to then he'd done everything textbook right and was still a work in progress but 'Brand AJ' took over AJ the boxer. THen again there could well be something ( or lack of something ) more murky behind thats zapped his confidence and stamina. Too many cheats these days.
  8. Utter delusion in regards to Fury it's like Rovers in recent years what passes for good these days pales into insignificance really compared to what is really good, dumbed down expectations from a dumbed down division. All these plastic accolades mean nothing those awards get chucked about every year he just happens to have the highest profile recently they have to hand them to someone. He got decked twice by Wilder and he was fighting at c19 stone his fighting weight after traiining solid fopr about 18 months and having 3 fight camps and fights before Wilder. He was a 29 year old pro athlete not a bloke from the pub plenty fighters blow up when they aren't active and he's a heavyweight near 7 foot tall it stands to reason he'll carry timber easily when not active. Yes he's done well getting his head back in gear and training hard but it's nothing he hasn't done before he wasn't old like Foreman or injured like Haye or coming back from bad defeats like Hatton or being stuck in jail like Tyson, get over yourself he didn't land on the fucking moon. He's evasive he runs all night he never looked like ending Wilder despite a 4 stone advantage he's there for the taking with the right kind of fighter who will come along at some p[oint but then again he'll avoid them. No excuse whatsoever other than to stay safe for his big money title shots in choosing such low opposition for the 'best HW around' - 'Fighter of the year'. He and you are still trading off his win years ago hie DREW with Wilder that's the fact not the myth he also served a 2 year back dated ban for dope related offences. FACT He' also had to be served the previously ranked 56th in the world to be able to find someone he could ko soundly, he's a hype job something plenty long term boxing fans have know for years he's just very good at convincing otherwise. Has no other HW ever beaten an ageing champ ? Has no other HW ever got a credible draw against the top dog ? It's got bog all to do with Joshua and although iv'e always had suspicions but they've all been at it including your hero who got busted, if Whyte guilty then so is the gypsy....fact.
  9. I'd only be asking him to start right back in that case as willy old Warnock will target our weaknesses main one being right back. His height would still be on the pitch to help out defending set pieces.
  10. One of the things sorely missing from this club probably since Big Sam has been partnerships being allowed to develop in key areas, too much swapping around and people coming and going etc. Dack and Graham have got one but now can't play every game together but there's been nothing in the middle or in defence but now there are signs there could be i'd do all i could to leave them be and let them grow. To me that's how just build the spine of good teams they don't always need to be the best players on the books they just have to gel. Bell should be hungry but i don't think that's been a problem with him i just don't think he's good enough but now his job ought to be back up to Cunningham so he'll have to step in and perform when asked.
  11. Leave the centre backs alone and come up with something else for the LB position Lenihen and Williams are developing just nicely no need at all to break it up swapping around is daft.
  12. They'll do well to shift another 400 at this stage so then the focus shifts onto being in a great position before Christmas so they can shift a decent number of half STs I'd say the focus should be on walk ups now but that only seems to apply to praying for big away followings to justify Cat A and A+
  13. Think we might be on a little bit of a roll and the confidence should be taken into this game hopefully it won't be drilled out of them. No excuse for crowd not to be behind the players from the off so come on public lets be avin ya ! Rovers 2 Cardiff 1 12.565
  14. Got it right by his muddled standards is maybe a better way to describe it and i agree a better side would probably have put us to the sword but then again he may have set out differently. What i saw last night imo was two disjointed formations on two very evenly matched sides who don't look like they'll tear any trees up this season but it made for a decent game to watch. Both cut some avenues off and tried to exploit others and being honest Hull should've been a goal or two up first half but for some terrible finishing but we also got some good breaks that missed the decent final ball or anything in the middle to aim for. I thought Armstrong was poor last night his body language wasn't great but he's always like that when started up top on his own he's like a lost boy. A good right winger for us last night who could've sheilded Bennett and got some good balls in on the break with Gallagher up top giving us at least some presence would've made it a lot more comfortable i reckon.
  15. Got it right again tonight credit where it's due his signings in that formation look good along with booting out a defensive weak link and replacing him with someone more physical. Still big questions over Bennett in that position though and Hull were terrible in front of goal thankfully, on another night it could've gone wrong again but we'll take it.
  16. Williams best game in a Rovers shirt looks so much more comfortable at centre half and him and Darragh suit each other both solid which is what you need in this division. AS for Downing, obvious class on the ball a risky signing but looks like paying off. Up and running now hopefully, thought it would be a handy point tonight but great win. !
  17. Certainly helps Lenihen and Williams as well who've looked solid enough again so far.
  18. He's a grafter who sticks to his task that's why managers like him but just like Bell he's out his depth trying to play wing back or full back regularly in this league. Manager finally wises up and brings in a proper left back then goes and weakens the other side. Piss boiling these managers are it'll take another 12 months for this penny to drop.
  19. To be fair someone of his experience and given what's at his disposal i.e competitive squad and budget he should be able to out think plenty rookies. How does he fare coming up against similar to himself would be more interesting ?
  20. Agree with this and it does present a dilemma but iv'e always thought Mowbrays handling of Graham has been good although iv'e issues with the subs and tactics he uses when he withdraws him. Now he's got a big mobile lad who can play up top or wide right so it's time to get the best out of him as well now.
  21. Campbell will get spanked i think he's another good fighter of a certain level but not near the elite although every dog can have its day if they catch their opponent on a bad night...ask Wlad.. ? Kovalev isn't what he was and has had a bundle of issues recently so a real chance there for Yarde.
  22. He beat that man 4 years ago after training on nandro and has done nothing before or after of note except drawing with Wilder and it won't make any difference in the rematch if it does actually happen the fight will follow the same pattern but Wilder will nail him. The fact he won't test himself against anyone at all in between title shots shows what he thinks of himself, so overated it's unreal. Bangs on about the 'lineal' but seeing as it's no belt or ranking he gets away with hand selecting domestic European level opponents it's down right embarrassing for a guy who claims to be the best. Yes seems Whyte might have joined Fury in the ranks of the dirty cheats but no surprise they all seem to be on the gear these days it's odd how Joshuas form has took a reel nosedive in recent years. Modern HW boxing stinks to be honest i'll watch the fights but i've very little interest now in anything else that goes on especially where circus acts navigating their way around the division and hiding behind invisible titles are concerned. I'm done with Fury can't even be bothered getting on his case anymore his actions speak for themselves.
  23. Just the type of away game we are capable of pulling off a nice counter attacking win but with the usual tinkering and lack of balance it brings i think we'll do well to get a hard fought draw. Hull 1 Rovers 1
  24. I think the new style of play was just a bit of claptrap to pacify fans and maybe owners also possibly justify some of the signings odd games aside he's never strayed away from the the same old methods in the entire time he's been here. All he's done really is just freshened it up a bit, remember when he portrayed Rayas promotion to first team keeper as him doing that so we could play it out from the back quicker and more often ? How often did we actually do that ? Brentford said the same when they signed him. TM is smart enough to know you can't change things overnight with more or less the same bunch of players it's all about tweeking it as you go along but that doesn't sound interesting enough really. So nowts really changed just hopefully they'll get better at it when they settle down if he leaves it alone that is.
  25. He'd never heard of that brand....
