Awful manager if ever anyone got by winging it it is him i'm amazed he never ended up at Blackpool. Where is the goon now i wonder ?
-
There'll be a complete change in the way we play anyway if Dack departs i think.
-
I said how long not 'i wonder if he'll bed him in first' that's a given but we don't want ten min cameos from now until December.
-
How long will it take for TMs famous bedding in process with this one i wonder ?
-
It's not happening is it......

I prefer to manage my disappointment levels a bit more gently these days.

I'd expect us to be more of a top ten squad this season with an average chance of making an outside stab at top 8-6 if Holtby comes in. Another couple of quality signings IN THE RIGHT AREAS USED CORRECTLY and i'd expect a good go at top 6. We are a season away from that though at the min i reckon.

I'd say he probably was touted for it then asked for a kings ransom and was told he'd get it so he would've taken the job then when push came to shove it was more venky induced hot air. Didn't Holloway get similar and Lambert who actually fell for it and took the job ? I could certainly see him wanting them to make it worth his while in more ways than one but regardless of that he would have been a massive upgrade on clownpants.

I was told by someone who was better placed to know that ALL appointments are made away from here and the people on the suits at Ewood only get told the day before someone is coming and who it is. The word is Mowbray came via the exact same scenario. I also believe that Coyle offered his services cheap although no idea if he was undercutting anyone purposely or he was just offering himself cheap in blind hope of the job. Also he was just taken on to basically oversee the game day and day to day stuff of the first team and had no input into anything else unlike the hands on of TM and some others. Just my personal hunch i reckon Pasha is the man who sorts all this and presents it to the Vs and he might be the one who has some friends who he likes to keep involved.

There does finally seem to be a genuine midfield overhaul going on which i for one am over the moon about it should have happened under GB but he was responsible for Evans and Lowe was his poodle so it was a non starter. Should have happened soon as he'd gone though imo its been a key factor in holding the team back accommodating certain players for too long.
-
Spot on, no ones expecting top 6 but we need to be having a good go every week now there's nothing to lose we've surely enough about us to not go down. To be fair to Mowbray all those signings are upgrades imo although in Gallaghers case you'd have to be comparing him to Brereton as a wide striker but he's certainly better than Samuel.
-
Not so easy though when they are sitting on the nice contracts Tony gave them. Catch 22 they won't go early unless something good comes in or they're paid off. Having them around there's always the feeling he'll start using them again to justify it. If he can keep adding a bit of quality along the way like Holtby then next summer becomes as much about clearing out as recruiting.
-
Fair points about Evans and Smallwood, Graham i'd be keeping around unless they shape up and replace him. The rest you've mentioned straight through the door if we want to improve, thousands is tied up in wages there. However this is Mowbray perennial nice guy so i'd expect him to faze out DG because they want him off the payroll, Samuel will be thrown a bone as will Bell. Hart and the keeper might get moved on and Downing will get another 12 months even if he's using a frame to get about by then. Evans and Smallwood who knows....

If he comes he'd better be coming to start !

That's a hell of a drop off for a club like us over one summer regardless of a healthy newbie intake. They they supposed to be trying to grow the crowds not just balance the books with price rises and relying on newbies to cover the slide. There is always natural wastage but nearly 2k you'd expect out of 20k crowds not half that. There must be an underlying reason for a lot of those after all last season didn't turn put too bad in the end and theres been some signings in summer, puzzling as they are at times.

I'm liking the description attacking midfielder very much.
-
The 'middleman' again, i think it's very naive to assume he has no input at all into comings and goings at Ewood and just flits between here and India with his ear to the ground.
-
Also factor in the quality of the sitting mids has improved which makes a difference imo.

His ticket price increase will probably have maintained the income levels despite crowds slowly dwindling but it'll bite him on the arse sooner or later especially if away crowds don't boost it significantly this season. Crowds have now stagnated again for a host of reasons but price will be an issue to some no doubt and the bang for your buck is more important in Blackburn than a lot of other places. The main factor of course is form and general feel good factor or to dress it up another way - ambition. They've been quite active in the transfer market but that's not caught the imagination and these days we aren't talking about the missing thousands we are talking about a decreasing of hardcore regulars. Just another thousand or two would be most welcome, would give a better feel about the place and even more so if a good lump of them were filling up the BBE lower every home game. Lets hope it picks up after Christmas - ( sorry for mentioning that dreaded word in September )

Why would Millwall ever bring 1000 or more up here unless they were going great near the top ? Their followings at Ewood tend to average probably around 500 being anywhere from 300 to a thousand odd exception aside over last ten years. People have serious over expectations of away followings in this league the majority of bog standard clubs similar to us outside the local area bring bugger all unless doing well or whatever. Makes our away followings even more impressive all things considered averaging around a 1000 every season since we were dragged out the Prem. Lets face it we've never had much to shout about in this league over the last 7 years and now it's coming home to roost, in these parts it usually gets worse a lot quicker than it gets better.

The several hundred regular fans that might have been put off after being turfed out of their sections in the Family & DE and become pick and choosers or non attendees might now be making the home gates a tad more respectable if they were left alone or treated a bit better. 11k into 12k at least, food for thought there but again the suits don't give a toss they get paid the same regardless. The days of a John Williams are long gone and that was big time Prem, stuff mostly anyway. What is needed is a touch of the John Howarths i think or someone who knows how this fanbase ticks not just box tickers. When are back at the same level and similar team and football as the GB era then why don't the gates stack up similar ? If i was in Pune that's what i'd be asking my directors in Blackburn.

Superman Fury has yet another scare but this time against another low level oppo, can't be hit obviously ? Credit to him for getting the job done and big credit to Wallin for giving it a go. Tick tock......
-
Serial tinkermon tinkered correctly today so well done on that. Usual awful first half but thankfully didn't concede and for once someone pulled a pearler out the bag to settle the nerves. Good solid effort in the end against a v tough side hopefully these become routine type victories. Williams mk2 = Impending cult hero status - Ooo Derrick Williams !

I think Armstrong is yet another example of a player being unsuited to the way we play when he's plonked up top i feel there's more to be squeezed out of him up front just not that way. Under this manager though he offers more on the left and there is only Graham who actually suits the way we play. Somethuing will have to change sooner or later though.
-
Good bit part player but doesn't offer enough as a regular starter and a bit like Samuel used to be not nearly enough effort in him at times for which there is no excuse.
