  1. They must've doffed out about two thousand free tickets yesterday or something. What a ridiculous performance to follow it up with.
  2. I'm going another 1-2 loss there is something missing in our set up called ruthlessness and i see the same old mistakes undoing us here after a good start and maybe going a goal up.
  3. Let's be honest the perceived new style he's introduced is just last seasons style slowed down a peg, 3 or 4 square passes instead of 2 or 3 and a punt. It's absolute pants we still only look decent when we either go for it and press from the front at a higher tempo or try and shut up shop and counter.
  4. Midtable Mogga Samuel sub sums him up it's player friendly over points all the time with him. Not beating the drum for him out at all but we are at the point you can almost predict everything that goes on and what he's going to say. He's on a doddle here the too relaxed atmosphere is evident every game at Ewood. Better than normal crowd and dismal disjointed stuff again. Have a word Waggot !
  5. Groundhog day The Samuel sub was going to happen whatever the score and we were accommodating players by the end yet again. Pathetic officials Pathetic Rovers
  6. Seems he's doing well at Wigan, a rock i've even seen him described as throwing himself into blocks etc. Don't know what happened here but most likely just complacency and too much influence behind the scenes ended in thinking he was undroppable until tail end of last season.
  7. If we are doing ok it'll end up as 'go with what we have and keep faith with those who've got us this far' rather than any extra push investment. It's all standard speak in my book just preparing for nothing out of the ordinary come what may, doing well = no need to spend for sake of it, doing average = why waste big money now might as well take stock in summer when prices are lower. TM has got this game down to a T here.
  8. Rovers 1 Luton 1 13,161
  9. Yeah suits sat in a comfort zone getting paid good money regardless and more interested in the corporate quid and in stadium cutbacks to impress their corporate bosses in another country.
  10. We had promotion fever around town a year or so ago the 26k turnout showed that. We responded by tappining into it with an opportunistic raising of prices hoping to boost income significantly whilst there was a brief chance. Business sense you may say but a real missed trick of boosting numbers properly on a fanbase that had been fed up and on a constant downer and slide for 6 or 7 years. If they'd got it back to 14k regulars then tried to retain them all the ground would certainly feel a bit better on a matchday now and so would the income.
  11. A stand closer to the pitch would certainly benefit the atmosphere.
  12. Why are we comparing to top level teams and tactics ? Some might say that is the problem in itself at times, applying champions league style philosophy to bread and butter championship needs. Keep it simple, get the basics right first. Square pegs in square holes, i think yesterday showed get the starting balance right and you'll get a much more solid fluent performance.
  13. As has been touched on this is where the new strength in depth should come in handy this season. Gallagher going off Graham coming on, Evans going off Johnson coming on, Holtby coming on, that kind of stuff can only help. The defence still needs strengthening imo but the squad as a whole is stronger now and we've got to give the gaffer credit for that he's moving it in the right direction again now.
  14. Iv'e travelled around and stayed in countless Travelodges, Prem, Holiday Inns etc and there are a lot worse places to stay than Ewood. A football ground has a unique selling point as opposed to a town centre and lets face it if you just want a bed for the night it's better looking out onto a pitch than litter strewn streets surely ?
  15. Spot on, TM as much as i admire some of the stuff he does clearly has a rotation policy which fluctuates between keeping his squad happy and fearing the opposition. I notice his personal PR man is back again, same guy who'd be absent if we'd lost 3 on the trot. The point he always misses is Mowbray has been here now for several seasons, get this...we know how he works. More often than not to be fair his methods see us through so more power to him. As always though consistency is what gets you places so if we/he develop that in terms of seeing out games we'll be on a winner.
  16. Absolute mongs the lot of them why doesn't it dawn on some that cheering on players even when they are having a bad day is the best way to get them going ? Shithousing your own players especially new ones is the work of arseholes.
  17. Just over 900 sold it said so i doubt it.
  18. Please lets have him in a good attacking mid role i just don't think you can have sitting types in front of the defence pinging crossfield passes etc in this league. Just doesn't suit our attackers either no real target men and no flying wingers to drop it in front of, midfield is a battlefield in the championship and it' where you need your generals.
  19. Good point and something we have to come to terms with these days as we don't have the pull nor the money to grease the wheels we used to. Someone said it's like picking up a load of balls one by one then throwing them all up in the air, not moving and hoping one just drops directly in your lap. Once they've done their pitch and made their offer there isn't a lot they can do and it goes someway to explaining the often scattergun approach in what you end up with. Although on the other side of the coin you have to be going for the right types in the right positions in the first place there still didn't seem to be many good defenders on the radar !
  20. Our stadium manager, matchday police and whoever else involved don't seem to want that it makes a dozy lazy day at Ewood hardwork they don't want shaking out of their slumber by home and away fans shouting at each other over a fence, block of seats and netting, it's all part of the match day experience at most grounds but not the trailblazers at Ewood. Seems they'd much rather alienate a few hundred into not coming at all.
  21. Cracking signing at this stage of the season nice little between windows boost well done TM and all concerned. Hope it's a signing for the right reasons and it works out. More to the point use him in his best position and he'll bring maximum benefit to the team, no shoehorning please.
  22. Did he get the Premier Suite and what's the breakfast like at Stanley House anyone know...... ? Hopefully he dresses the part before he meets old Tone !
  23. If he'd leave the back line and overall spine of the team alone all season it would help i think but then again he really doesn't know his best side so he keeps it flexible by setting out to stop the different opposition first and foremost.
  24. Something John Williams took a while to realise but he said similar to what you've said there a few times once it sunk in. Tough tough part of the world when it comes to brass you only have to look at the town and non existent nightlife etc. Add in the increasing competition for the spare quid in the pocket these days and it paints an even harder picture.
  25. Is this the first fruits of the new Euro network of sorts ?
