Has he played for Mowbray before or one of his clubs ? Who's his agent ? Is he over 6ft ? Has he plenty first team experience ? Can he kick ? Is he any effing good ?
-
Don't get me started on all that complete bollocks ? You've touched on something there though there definitely is an element of crossover from social media style v long term old school forum style posters resulting in a few regular clashes. There's an arrogance and faux offence that can be got away with on other platforms that can't be on these type of forums.
-
It's never been any different really it's just that there are more moaners about perceived moaners these days.
-
But if you can't or won't get quality then quantity seems the way forwards, rotate and hope.....
-
I'm warming to the idea of the German stopper kind of hope it's him. A lot is going to rest on Mulgrew getting his act together i think.
-
???

Carson would fit the bill more than the others i think, flawed and a bit cheaper another project for Mowbrays human factor rehab Rpvers. I tend to think they'll go for someone younger from a big club on a loan to buy or loaned in with half wages paid though and take that gamble where there is potential money to be made in the long term rather than pouring big wages away. Not sure how that will actually strengthen though.

The away kit is an abomination but that style is just the trend these days and they are aimed at a certain buyers market to be fair that's what it's all about and some of the top clubs have some right stinkers. Way i see it it looks a nice t-shirt but shit football kit and it'll be hard on the eye but probably get used to it. I'm just relieved they've sorted out the first strip to something more in keeping with modern day Rovers again.
-
Said all along the keeper might be left field and another head scratcher as i don't believe they'll tie up big wages in that area but the last min rush of blood may prove that wrong of course. I sound like Nixon now ?

opinion Rangers fan here
tomphil replied to Rangers Fan's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We had his lot running our store a few years back, shocking it was as well. -
How seriously are we actually after them though ? How surprising would it be to miss out then unveil a left field rookie from a big club bench with heavily subsidised wages or a free old timer on a short contract ?
-
There's been many records broken since Venkys and friends rocked up, not many of them good ones.
-
Maybe so but what about Jayson ???
-
The marquee signings are in - Gallagher, Johnson, Downing - quite impressive even if not first choices to a lot of fans. Now it's the usual one or two big club loanees to bluff the squad and cover other areas so it's chuck and chance, nowt new either remember the Utd lad that ended up down the road ? A gangly centre half kid playing here as a RB but looking far more suited to his proper position ? There's definitely some policies set in stone at Rovers under this lot that get passed down the managerial line and i've touched on what i think it is before so no point the inviting the anti conspiracy mob on again but there's a pattern. At least this kid if he comes has a good set of games under his belt and you feel one day law of averages one will just click as it did with the manager himself. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a young keeper of similar vein come in on loan for a straight shoot out with the Canadian for the jersey with what's left in the kitty.
-
Predictable if they bring in the young City kid who can cover two positions and will probably have heavily subsidised wages. A good keeper even more important now, as if it wasn't before ! Anyone think TM wants footballing defenders rather than specialists ? At this rate we will be a good bet to be highest conceders again but maybe one of the highest scorerers which to be fair should still see us in top half. Then again he could start a team of midfielders every week.
-
That away kit is the most tacky thing i've ever seen i know it's individual taste etc but it's hard watching your side in a shirt the cat spewed up.
-
I've been thinking he'll turn out a better option all the time he's been here but he hasn't yet he's just a bit quicker Del is painfully slow but better in the 1 on 1's. It's one of those where if you moulded the two together you'd have a good LB but you can say that about a lot of our positions but that's the league we are in. To be a good defender you need to be a good tackler and reader of the game first and foremost. Pace, good passing or whatever else are a bonus but it's all about the basics a bit like the keeper situ, get those and you're halfway there.
-
I agree but there's a lot questioning the scouting so i was just saying sometimes the agents will still be doing the leg work that's just football it isn't conspiracy because it isn't being presented as dodgy more of an easier option for managers looking for a lot of bodies.
-
Don't you start you're more boring than him. I did say Mowbray was having a look didn't i or has your rationale cherry picked which bits you want to answer to suit your argument as usual ? Mates you say ? Obviously jobs for the boys then.. ?
-
Why is it a conspiracy ? There's no need for you to jump on every post you might not agree with and come out with Anti conspiracy theories either is there. Agents work in football, more or less run the transfer side that's a fact it so it's is in no way a conspiracy to say perhaps an agent working on behalf of Derby has offered us a few players they want rid of and Mowbray is having a look rather than a scouting report suddenly recommending 3 different players in different positions from one club. Grow up !
-
Williams and / or bring somebody in a bit more capable whilst Bell goes and sharpens his game elsewhere we are trying to make the team stronger after all so you have to weed out the weak one's one by one. Maybe Derby have one that needs taking off their payroll.....?
-
Yes i'd loan him back to league 1 unless you think you can find a taker anywhere else ? Yes i'd sort centre half first after the keeper obviously as it's where the major weaknesses have been in a weak back line as a whole. Bell is employed as a defender his job is to defend what you seem to be suggesting is he'd be better on the left wing.
-
That's hardly the point.
-
Other than being able to run forwards in a straight line quite quickly Bell is crap, terrible defender. He was a cheap young signing though from lge 1 for lge 1 so it was worth a punt but time to improve although i wouldn't shut the door on him i'd look to loan him back to where he is more suited for a season. He was a Mowbray signing for money though which means he'll be kept involved, probably doesn't moan when he's rotated so that'll be even more attractive to the manager. What i would do though before i moved him would be sort out a good centre half first and foremost !
-
It doesn't take a scouting network for that it takes an agent probably working on behalf of the club moving them out.
