I think TK will be back for Huddersfield. Pears has done a solid enough job but there have been enough shaky moments over the last few games to justify bringing back our #1. I also have a feeling Adam Wharton will start. His cameo showed he’s so clearly superior to Morton and I think he’s been in the cold long enough for JDT to feel like he’s made a point. He might cost us a goal here or there before the end of the season if he becomes a regular, but the way we’re struggling to create chances at the moment it’s probably a risk worth taking.

That’s a sickener! Just for balance, I have to point out that it’s a very normal/ sensible move to change to a more defensive system when trying to see out a game. It obviously backfired this time, but just as easily he could have left it and the same thing could have happened. Then everyone would be lamenting not having brought on a 3rd centre half to see it though.

v QPR (a) - 25/2/23roverinmontreal replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I think Pears is more comfortable with the ball at his feet than TK is and that has helped a lot with the passing out from the back. They are mostly simple passes, but getting angles just right is really important if you’re trying to build, even if there’s not much pressure on the ball. TK is a great keeper, but I do wonder if JDT might be thinking about whether he’s the right fit for us medium term.

v QPR (a) - 25/2/23roverinmontreal replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I just feel like that it would have been mentioned if he’s back fit and in the squad- usually they like to end on a positive note. Anyway, I hope you’re right!

Also mentions Pickering, Kaminski, Scott Wharton, BBD. Also Jake Batty and Sam Barnes. But nothing about Adam Wharton. It’s been like this for the last few ‘injury updates’ on the rovers site. Something’s going on!

v Wigan Athletic (h) - 6/2/23roverinmontreal replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I’m not one of the ‘anyone would be better than…’ people, but just maybe it is worth giving Harry Leonard a game at this point. Ok there’s a good chance he won’t do any better, but if he gets lucky and scores on his debut the confidence that would inject could be invaluable for the rest of the season. Sure it’s a long shot, but we only really have long shots available at this point.

I did! And I had such a great time. It’s funny watching every single game on tv for years and then finally actually being at the game and surrounded by other fans. I felt like a (38 year old) kid in a candy store 🙂

Does anyone know about ticket info for this game? I’m going to be in the UK so I’m planning to make it the first game I’ve actually attended since moving to Canada 15 years ago! So far there’s no info on on the rovers site, but tickets are on general sale for Norwich fans on their site…

Back down to earth with a bang. Why on earth didn’t we a) switch things up and b) show any kind of urgency after going behind? Surely Dack and Dolan would have made sense when chasing the game. 8 minutes just isn’t enough time to make an impact. JDT has seemed so smart and reactive up until now- extremely frustrating and confusing today.

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?roverinmontreal replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard No doubt. But since he can’t, it’ll take a certain kind of system to suit him. Personally I would keep going down the path we’re on. It’s early days and it’s already kind of working, no?

Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?roverinmontreal replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Two completely different players with different qualities. Even though he hasn’t ripped up any trees yet, Vale clearly fits into the style JDT wants to play. We ALL want Dack to come back and earn his place back in the team, but the fact is that the way play just doesn’t work unless everyone covers a lot of ground. If Dack could do that and everything else we know he can, then I’m sure JDT would be absolutely ecstatic to put him in.

v Hull City (a) - 29/10/22roverinmontreal replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The injury ‘update’ sounds a lot like both Hedges and Britain will miss out for this one. If that means Carter as wing back and Phillips at centre half then I worry about us going forward down the right, and any sort of aerial bombardment in our own box. As he’s so highly regarded I’m sure Phillips will be great in time, but I’m not sure he’s won a header all season so that’s a concern.
