  1. Reading the posts on this topic clearly people don't.
  2. With respect you should have kept 'the rumour' to yourself. You know as well as anybody the anguish these rumours can cause.
  3. Does anybody know of any good bike mechanics in the Darwen and Blackburn area?
  4. Having had several run ins with him, know several players who have played for him let me tell you it is typical of him.
  5. Looks like Palace's support was 50 short esterday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-22322513
  6. But there is a right and a wrong way. Using the word cheat is ridiculous and does nothing but enhance his already plummeting stock.
  7. The inane ramblings of an unhinged man.
  8. Sometimes you have to give credit to the skill of opposition players. The dummy Dobbie sold him had half of the Blackburn End moving one way and then the other. And the pitch was wet too. Dann has been one of the mainstays this season and I think your continued criticism of him is based on his poor form last season. Most Rovers fans would agree about last season but your judgement is certainly flawed this season.
  9. Is Dean Jones freelance or does he works for a National publication?
  10. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Holloway
  11. Agreed. For every Blackpool and Palace there is a QPR, Leicester or Plymouth. He made a name for himself due to his comedy value with outrageous sayings which the media loved but he couldn't see that people weren't taking him seriously.
  12. All that was missing was the shout of 'timber' as Hanley fell. I have no problem with that as we've been done enough in the past.
  13. Who would have done it? We haven't got a manager beyond the end of the season and if an outsider comes in he has to start from scratch. There might have been something done but given the track record of the owners and their cohorts I would put my house on no planning whatsoever?
  14. Well done on the win and we are close to certain survival but..................... Reading some of the posts on here I am really struggling to come to terms with some of the naive comments. Believe it or not we have already entered a critical period for next season and nothing at all has been done. Who is talking to the out of contract players? Who is deciding who stays and who goes? Who has identified any potential targets? Who is planning pre-season training? Who is planning the friendlies? Who is deciding season ticket prices? Who is targeting potential sponsors? There are lots of other things that should be happening but you can bet your bottom dollar they won't be. We really need to hit the ground running next season and a good start is imperative. With none of the above being done at the moment I believe we will be in exactly the same position next season where we will be fighting to stay in the league and celebrating a win at the likes of Millwall like we have won the FA Cup.
  15. Dead right. This particular battle is almost won, now we need to win the war.
  16. Just seen the penalty. Harsh in the extreme but I couldn't give a toss. Well done Grant.
  17. We concede too many stupid free kicks which we simply can't deal with.
  18. Clever move this. It will keep the ruffians away from Agnew and Shaw who, along with Singh should the target of all our angst in the absence of the Indians.
  19. RIP. I always got the impression that he was a proper football man and knew his stuff. His opinion was always valued by me.
  20. He is the type of player we have been missing but I would question the wisdom of giving him a four year deal at the age of 30 (presumably on high wages). The general trend among most clubs now is to offer any player over 30 much shorter deals and if any extensions are to be given they have to be earned.
  21. It would have to be be competition specific, similar to Super League, international cricket and any other sport where technology is available. The International Board will decide how it will be implemented but it is pretty much nailed on that it will come in. I was active when a trial was done by moving the ball 10 yards forward when dissent was shown. This only applied to the Football and Premier Leagues so the Laws didn't have to be re-written. It has always been a boast from FIFA that the Laws of the Game apply universally irrespective of the competition but the change is imminent and has been since Frank Lampards 'goal' against Germany in South Africa.
  22. I would definately bring in technology but only for maters of fact. By this I mean things like did the ball cross the line or was the player off-side when he scored. This is not open to opinion and any replays could be viewed as the game would be stopped naturally. For matters of opinion (ie a penalty appeal) there is will always differences so I would leave that in the hands of the officials.
  23. The procedure is that the FA Compliance Unit will contact the referee and simply ask him if he didn't see the incident. If he says that he didn't then they will ask him if he had seen it what action would he have taken. If he says he saw it and was happy with the challenge then the FA's hands are tied.
  24. In most respects yes. A lot of the decision making process it is down to good positioning, anticipating and reading play and bloody hard work. Franco is really poorly at the moment after suffering a stroke before Christmas.
