  1. You sure your armchair's facing the TV? 😲
  2. Kaminsky's going to get caught out one of these days.
  3. Rothwell's has produced the only 2 decent bits of play we've managed all night. Great save from Raya
  4. That's not Nyambe's fault, if Mowbray goes with a certain formation then we have do what we can with the personnel out on the pitch. if no-one moves when we get the ball the player on the ball has no options. The goal was 100% down to Trybull. If he doesn't play a dreadful pass we don't concede the goal. Nothing whatsoever to do with Nyambe.
  5. Not many survived it multiple times over different seasons like Mowbray though.
  6. Rubbish. If we were scared to move forward in case someone gave the ball away we'd never get out of our own half. Then again, we haven't anyway.
  7. Obviously. He should have psychic powers and anticipatethat Trybull is going to play an appalling pass and give the ball away before it happens........
  8. Let's not pretend this is down to the officiating. The gulf between the 2 sides is embarrassing, like watching Man City v a League 2 side.
  9. He was extremely lucky with the misplaced pass he made which hit the ref. Ref gave him the ball back, Douglas took a quick one and nearly hit him again!
  10. 100% down to Trybull that. Atrocious play. As for the penalty, seen them given but on balance thought Lenihan was merely standing his ground.
  11. Would that be the case as soon as the initial screening applications were passed or only some years down the line after full planning permission was granted?
  12. Yes, I forgot to put that in. Because the shiny looking gate is half the size of the original as well it probably won't be fit for it's original purpose of stopping next door's dog from jumping over and chewing up my flower bed! (Or in Rovers' case, maintaining Cat 1 Academy Status)
  13. Brilliant analogy, if I may flesh out the detail of the entire project a bit: "My gate is starting to look a bit tired and needs a new coat of varnish and a couple of hinges. However, this bloke I know has suggested that instead if I knock down my house, he'll build me a smaller one and throw in a new gate instead. I'll end up with a house half the size of the old one and may even have to contribute a considerable amount of money towards the project. I don't even know what the new gate will do that the old one wouldn't. The bloke says however the gate will look great and be "state of the art". I think I trust him, so hey ho we'll give it a go!"
  14. I honestly don't know how to reply to that John, the amount of time it will take to come to fruition is completely irrelevant. A bad idea or an outright scam (take your pick) is still a bad idea or an outright scam if it doesn't come to light until a few years later.
  15. I absolutely despair. To summarise to date: - Months of careful planning must have gone on on the quiet ascertaining the maximum potential of the proposed housing development site. - the screening application has been sneaked in under the radar with zero consultation of either fans or local residents - Seemingly there has been no consideration given to simply upgrading the existing training facilities nor has this even been costed up - the level of thought and planning that has gone into a new training centre extends to a white or red oblong superimposed onto a Google Earth map. - to reinforce this the specification for the new training centre on the screening application has simply been copied off that of the existing STC and the screening application refers to the proposed new build being of "a similar scale". - Waggott has no idea whatsoever how much the new training centre would cost. - we have no specific confirmation the owners would meet any shortfall if needed. - Waggott has no idea if we could configure the pitches outside on a limited space or provide the facilities required inside a single facility the size of the STC to meet existing Cat 1 Academy requirements. - There is the obvious Coventry connection where the same protagonists attempted to sell their training ground for development. -Waggott has told the Fans Trust that the owners have categorically NOT asked him to sell land to raise money - The people at Coventry even gave exactly the same non benefit for justifying the scheme as they have done here "being under the same roof". - Neither the manager nor Waggott are able to cite one genuine advantage to the Club arising out of this scheme out or cite one specific example of how the new facilities would be better than the existing ones. Yet some people still seem to think it could be a good idea! What more evidence do you need?
  16. Come on John, I realise this is the line that's been fed to you by the Club and quite possibly not your personal opinion but still! They certainly don't seem to have minded incurring "considerable cost" in carrying out careful planning to see how many units they could possibly squeeze onto the proposed housing development and drawing up detailed plans of those do they? How significant would the cost of drawing a few proper plans up of the new training centre actually be in the context of the entire scheme? Surely, if they were serious about it, and there was genuine merit to the scheme, the more detail that was provided, the more likely people would be to support it.
  17. "Coventry 3 out - Protect Jack's legacy!"
  18. Apparently £3.1m p.a. out of which we get a grant of £1.2m to subsidise it. So £1.9m p.a. net. Probably less than Mulgrew's and Ayala's wages not to play for us for 12 months.
  19. Yes, No need whatsoever to apologise I completely agree with the overall gist and sentiment of your post.
  20. Completely agree. Not sure if 4) is strictly correct. Waggott was brought in (I think) by the Company that took over the footballing side of Coventry City Otium Entertainment Ltd after the Football Club had gone into administration and after that Company had already acquired the Football Club's assets for a snip. However, without having the exact time scale in front of me, subsequently upon his appointment Waggott became a Director of Otium Entertainment and at a later date brought Mowbray to Coventry as manager, Mowbray presumably then brought Venus in. At some point there was a scheme hatched to sell Coventry's training ground for housing with their Chairman also a Director of Otium (not Waggott) saying it was not an asset stripping exercise but a plan "to get everything under one roof". Sound familiar? Waggott left Coventry not that long after Mowbray was appointed seemingly to pursue other interests as a Consultant and resigned his Directorship of Otium. Venus then became a Director of Otium at some point before also later resigning. Can't remember exactly what happened with Coventry's training ground think someone on here (Hoochie) said Sport England blocked the sale of the training ground until a new facility could be built and new owners renovated the existing one but basically it is still at risk.
  21. Exactly. If the Rao's wanted to be more fondly remembered for their legacy they could spruce the 3 newer sides of Ewood Park up, rebuild the Riverside and upgrade the existing training facilities to state of the art standard without any FFP implications. Instead we're seeing Ewood fall into disrepair and half the training facilities being sold off although I don't believe the latter scheme has originated from them and who knows what they've been told by those on the ground at Ewood.
  22. They've a lot better chance than we have and using your metric they've no right to be competing with us! 🙂
  23. The commentators make it virtually unwatchable for me, every foul committed by an opposition player is a yellow/borderline red. Every foul committed by us it's incredibly soft and the opposition player is making too much of it. They're also frequently advocating that our players should go down easily and/or roll about a bit to earn fouls/penalties or cards for the opposition yet when the penalty was conceded tonight they had the gall to complain the ref gave it on the basis of who screamed the loudest!
