I noticed that when the article was first published - one man's 'jam" is another man's bribe. Says it all when an attempt has to be made to pay off the villagers to accept it and the application can't be left to stand or fall purely on its merits. So basically almost everyone could receive some benefit from this tawdry scheme, developers, planners, PR agencies, local residents and anyone else in between. Everyone that is apart from the Club who would lose a substantial part of their infrastructure which we then can't fall back on in future if really needed when we no longer have multi billionaire owners. And for the present, said owners seemingly face having to shell out yet again to fund (at the very best) facilities similar to what we have now, only far less of them and which could end up putting paid to Cat 1 status for good. Sounds like much of our transfer business over the last ten years, everyone gets a piece of action along the way and the Club end up getting shafted.

Thanks for sharing. "Proven track record of..........bringing defensive rigour to teams" Where did it all go wrong? Do I take it then that the reason why you wrote to Senior in the first place was out of concern to ask why on earth we had appointed Mowbray? -
I'd certainly have made the effort to attend Court if my licence was at risk and if I was on his money would have employed a high powered brief to try and avoid disqualification. Still, I suppose he can comfortably afford a chauffeur and his recovery from the latest injury is more pressing. You'd also have to say you'd have thought the authorities would have better things to do than ban people from driving at 68 in a 60 mph zone on a motorway regardless of his previous driving record. All the best to him in his recovery. When it rains it pours I guess.

Finished one point and three points above us the last two seasons though with way less financial latitude so if he's a dud, what does that make our guy?

Disagree. Think Rhodes was way way more consistent than Garner. Garner was probably better on a going day but catch him in on away day when he didn't really fancy it and he might as well not haallve been there. Think Garner was better than Armstrong but the similarity between all of them is that they are or were the best players we have or had at the time. The problem wasn't or isn't with any of them, it's that most of the rest of the team wasn't or isn't up to their standard in their respective positions! -

I agree, personally I'd take him over Mowbray tomorrow to get the latter out of the door but I wouldn't be completely ecstatic about the appointment. Still, even if he was another Don Mackay, who got us to several play offs and failed that would still be a massive leap forwards from where we are now. -

Not unless you particularly want to.🙂 Can you share the gist of what he said? If the reply was intended to be in confidence, no problem. -
When will Mowbray be sacked?
RevidgeBlue replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Not sure but whilst the owners were a ittle slow in sacking Bowyer it's nothing like the current situation with Waggott and Mowbray for me. If Mowbray was being judged purely on performance and results he'd have gone in Feb 19 imo. -

What did he say? That he was cheap? -

It was alleged by that Crook dude from Lancs Live in twitter correspondence I think. Something along the lines of "owners understood to be unhappy by recent results but not known if they're ready to make a change yet etc" I.e. doing a Nixon and hedging his bets so he can't be wrong either way no matter what happens. -
Very honest reply. Thanks.

Completely agree - and it's happening again now as far as I can see, but is that not almost the definition of "naivety"?

Christ. 22 points from 23 games. One win in 12 is it? Wouldn't like to see us when things were going badly!

Do you not think that the mistake the people "investigating" the owners made, particularly at the beginning, was to automatically assume that they were either doing something illegal or at the very least acting in breach of FA regulations? Should that investigation not have focused instead on the people the owners trusted in good faith to run the Club on their behalf? Whilst nothing illegal or contrary to regulations may have occurred, it seems a lot of people have benefitted over the years at the Club's and ultimately the owners' expense. And, ten years on, is that scrutiny not more vital than ever? Particularly in view of Waggott's ludicrous proposal to flog off part of our infrastructure? Same old script, different personnel?

You might be right, but I was partially agreeing with you in pointing out that Chaddy was possibly being optimistic in saying we could revamp the entire squad on the back of an Armstrong sale. I think some of the assessments of Armstrong have been a bit harsh recently, he's the least of our problems, a bit like saying it was Rhodes' fault we never made the playoffs when we had dollopers like Jason Lowe in other areas of the pitch!

Thought we looked pretty solid when Wharton and Lenihan were paired together to be fair. Other than that I've not been overly Impressed. Anyhow, decent point in isolation on Saturday but I make that 22 points from the last 23 League games. Mowbray should have gone in Feb 19 and nothing has changed. 2 completely wasted years!
