  1. There was plenty of commitment on show today but precious little quality. What was needed was a moment of magic or two from somewhere to make the difference..
  2. Nothing as fickle as the football fan. On Monday it was "Best midfielder in the League, end of any promotion bid if we sell him". Now he announces he wants to talk to other Clubs it's "Sell him, he's rubbish anyway, never rated him."
  3. Good on the owners if that's their stance. We aren't going to be able to adequately replace Rothwell at such short notice and we can't afford another Armstrong scenario where he isn't replaced. If Rothwell isn't sold he'll have to continue to perform if he still wants a move in summer. One good performance from him and all this furore will be next week's chip paper.
  4. Always wanted to go to Kenilworth Rd with it being such a quaint little relic of the past and was watching from the home area today due to the unavailability of tickets in the away end. Loved the ground, not so keen on the performance, which laid bare our lack of depth. Think we need a striker, right winger and central midfielder or it'll be a push to make the play offs playing so poorly. Agree we improved a bit after HT when Butterworth came on for Gallagher. Thought the only player to do himself justice today was Buckley and the manager bizarrely took him off after which we went worse again. Escaped with a point but will have to play much much better than that.
  5. He was terrible. Like a fish out of water on the right wing. A bit better when he moved to LB.
  6. Today's dismal affair at Luton showed we can ill afford to do without Rothwell.
  7. Well, apart from the fact he thought Markanday would be a loan. He generally only reports the Club stance on things after any news has broken elsewhere.
  8. Bit harsh on Elliott. I'd say he's at least as good in his position as Van Hecke is in his but he clearly lost interest after Christmas last season. And who can blame him with the way things went? I don't think even the manager himself thought he was going to survive, everyone was going through the motions.
  9. I would agree it would have been a shocking window given the position we're in if nothing else happens but I think we're working on a couple (not the target of massive bid I alluded to) so let's see what happens before passing judgment. I've no idea on the identity of the other two before anyone asks but think one is a keeper.
  10. Another great result tonight, everyone apart from Fulham seems to be falling over themselves to hand it to us on a plate. Come on Rovers. 12 wins as quickly as possible!
  11. Feel for the lad. Mowbray signed him and has never given him a chance.
  12. Give over. He'd have to get the Club's take on it before commenting. Can't rule out the possibility there's been additional interest in Rothwell but I'd be amazed if he's not still a Rover by Tuesday morning. My guess, Mowbray comes out in the Press after the game tomorrow, confirms JR was injured, confirms that there's been plenty of interest in JR but that he's never asked for a move and he's going nowhere this month.
  13. Abso-bloody-lutely. Great Post.
  14. I'll say who it allegedly was if nothing much happens and we're reflecting on a disappointing end to the window. In the very unlikely event it happens (the other Club wouldn't want to sell) I think we'd know about it.
  15. None whatsoever. Tell Bournemouth/Brentford/whoever to fook off (figuratively speaking) and business as usual Tuesday. Nothing personal it's just business. You can't blame other Clubs for wanting our best players.
  16. Not quite that exotic. People would certainly be impressed but can only assume nothing happening on it otherwise would have seen something about it in the Press.
  17. Don't worry about it, I've not seen any mention of it anywhere so presumably it's not gone any further. You'd certainly know what I was referring to if anything further came of it.
  18. Fair comment. I'm not repeating it or passing it off as likely to happen though. Final word on the Rothwell saga, it's up to him whether or not he signs a new deal here before summer. however It's up to the Club whether or not he leaves in January so it's a bit of a non story unless the Club decide to sell and I'd put the blame squarely on the Club if it did.
  19. Agreed. I've been told of a bid we've made which is extremely unlikely to be accepted but if it was it would blow everyone's socks off. Can't confirm whether or not it's true but if it is it would make it even more puzzling why we would bother with the likes of Hedges.
  20. Thanks for the common sense amidst the hysteria.
  21. Unleaded is very good I agree. Did he say the agent was playing silly buggers? If so, not a major drama for me, let them have a little strop for a couple of days then back to work Tuesday once the window has shut. He'll have to perform then or he won't get a move anywhere decent in summer.
  22. Oooo...... errrr.......hang on got the story wrong!
  23. That's just a regurgitation of the same sort of innuendo and rumours as we've seen on here though. Proof of the pudding will be in the eating I guess.
  24. Well said. You forgot to mention that by sharing a picture of his family on social media JR is also sending a craftily coded message to the opposition manager that he won't be playing tomorrow! Tin hats on.
  25. Sorry what's "being reported" and by whom?
