  1. There's no actual evidence they're withholding finance, Mowbray always claims the opposite, that he has to hold the owners back. Besides is it a case in this instance of them withholding finance per se or Mowbray just unilaterally deciding that he doesn't think players X and Y are worth what they're asking for? My point about would you give Mowbray any more money was based on the hypothesis that either the decision to remove him will be made in summer or has already been made.
  2. Thanks for sharing. Personally I'd take that very much with a pinch of salt as part of Lambert's PR and charm offensive to make himself look good in advance of moving to his next job. I do remember him saying "This Club has got to decide which way it wants to go" a lot whilst doing absolutely nothing about renewing contracts. Then walking out thanks to a clause in his contract which he'd inserted. I don't believe a word he said with the benefit of hindsight.
  3. I agree with the other poster in a way. Mowbray deserves to be commemorated as having the worst run of any manager in our near 150 year history. So given a choice I'd choose to limp to safety via a few draws. You're also right though, safety is paramount and you can't pick and choose. Therefore I'll take survival however it comes and will be delighted with a win tonight.
  4. I don't remember that at all. Source?
  5. This is another reason why Mowbray needed to go a while back. He must be on his last legs and should have no input on who does and doesn't get a new deal. Should have been down to a new man. (To be fair to the owners would you give TM any more money)
  6. Sort of agree with you, the odd swear word is fine, when it gets every other word it's irritating. There's nothing worse than someone whose vocabulary is so limited they have to pop the f bomb in every other word to pad out their sentences, e.g. "I'm going to the f-in chip shop" or (Who told you that) "f-in Shayna" etc.
  7. As an ex teacher I thought you'd have been more affronted by the fact "bollocks" was spelt incorrectly gumboots! 🙂
  8. If Dan has started spouting off, could someone point out to him that Waggott has effectively been caught out blatantly lying as it was freely acknowledged in the latest Sharpe article that the facilities couldn't be replaced to the same standard on the one site. All this despite Waggott claiming Cat 1 status was vitally important to him. Then we'll take the discussion from there.
  9. Where did he say this? Also I didn't quite understand what you meant, did you insert a "not" in there by mistake? 🙂
  10. Again, this theory about him being told he could have the Rhodes money to spend is pure conjecture. For all we know he could have been parachuted in specifically to sell Rhodes. Has his subsequent record not put you off him?
  11. 1) Yes, a better manager than him! 2) Did he? Says who?
  12. They got us relegated first tbf.
  13. Yep. We'll have to agree to disagree on Lambert. Since he left I've been waiting for him to prove me wrong and he's been lurching from one disaster to another.
  14. Struggling for sponsorship/financing apparently. Another empty boast from Waggott that will disappear into the distance.
  15. If Rotherham fade we could hypothetically not win another game and stay up with one win in 20. What a shambles.
  16. If he was that bothered, why did he come here at all then? His only concern in coming here was to get back on the job market. If he'd ever any serious intention of staying for any length of time he'd have addressed the issue of the players whose contracts were running out at the time. Instead he completely ignored it. And which manager with long term ambitions sells their star striker on the last day of the window? Answer: one who knows he's buggering off three months later. Absolute charlatan, mind you as you say Mowbray is turning out to be even worse.
  17. Exactly what I said! "It was after his first five games where the results were impressive." That was the only point we were on the cusp of the play offs. We were playing someone or other on Sky and if we'd have won we'd have gone 6th albeit other teams would have had several games in hand. We laboured to a 0-0. Essentially I agree with you 100%.
  18. We're talking November/early December there. It was after his first five games where the results were impressive if not the football. Then he appeared to lose the players and the rest of the season was dismal.
  19. Usually agree with you but Lambert's useless. Like Mowbray will be doing in summer he left the contract situation in an appalling state. Not one striker under contract when he left. And, with hindsight we now know he never had any intention of staying long term but was merely using us as a leg up back into the job market.
  20. If his argument was "If you don't finish in the top six you're nowhere, you might as well finish 17th than 9th as long as you're making progress then I could sort of see where he was coming from. Unfortunately I don't think his argument is that as he now appears to be claiming its impossible to get promoted. His argument about player development is also completely redundant as thanks to his and Waggott's negligence with the composition of the squad hardly any of them will be here next year. He better not be here next season. He's baiting the fans with every single press conference now.
  21. I've thought that many a time. Apart from "no possession football". Now it's nothing but.
  22. That's not a particularly bold claim is it? He'd have to be fairly poor to be worse than Bell and missing a leg to be worse than Douglas.
  23. Wash your mouth out, he's as bad as Mowbray. If he joined until the end of the season he'd also insert a clause allowing him to jump ship if he lost the first two.
  24. Must win game, no other result is acceptable. Don't want to hear a peep about Derby's qualities pre match, I want to hear about us and what we're going to try and do.
  25. He keeps assuring us that that's what's going to happen but he's cutting it a bit bloody fine Tom.
