They're getting a bit more sensible now. Shouldn't be any problem pushing them up to at least £18m bearing in mind we can't afford to lose him and it's most likely too late to replace him with anyone decent.

Scraping up with him is better than going down without him as well.

Think he enjoyed life off the pitch a little too much, was a regular in the Woodlands back in the day along with several others of the squad. Always seemed a very affable bloke indeed though. 63. Gulp. RIP.

Self isolating due to Covid regulations allegedly but you're right, it doesn't prevent him from giving an interview or two.

Plus Trybull and Douglas. Eleven out I think. No loss at all with most of them but in an ideal world I'd say we'd need three quality permanent additions in and a couple of decent loans. And that's without losing Armstrong.

If the omission is that glaringly obvious that would suggest to me the keeper but I'm assuming it's not that as at this stage that would be desperate even by our standards and there hasn't even been the slightest suggestion of any interest in him. The other players whose omission would be particularly noticeable would I suggest be the obvious one (Armstrong) Lenihan or Nyambe. We'll soon see I guess. Whoever it is I doubt it will be good news.

100%. We get the same sort of feeble excuse every summer when we lowball Clubs for players then get gazumped by teams eventually offering what the selling Club/player want. How dare other Clubs act in such a manner! It's like the excuse given to the Fans Forum for season tickets going on sale late, and which seemingly wasn't challenged. Which without quoting directly was roughly: "There was a lot of discussion about striking a balance between value for money for fans and keeping a competitive team on the pitch as we rely on £3.5 - £4m season ticket income every season". Considering so much detailed discussion allegedly needed to take place we didn't do anything particularly imaginative or innovative, prices stayed the same! And considering how badly we supposedly need the money I think someone should have pointed out that no-one in the history of commerce has ever made any money without making their product available for purchase! They really are taking everyone for mugs.

Always love an away kit with red and black halves and might purchase one out of principle * at age 57 * but I think the white collar looks terrible, it's nowhere near as nice as the Roque Santa's Cruz version imo. The home kit I'm not overly sold on, again don't like the collar at all. *KHod - wash your mouth out you young whippersnapper* 🙂🤣 Edit: Was relying on long distance pics from the Bradford game for the home shirt, having now looked at it properly I think the collar works a lot better on the home than on the away kit.

I used to be on the Forum and there are some good people on there including OTG's of this parish but unfortunately the Forum seems to be becoming unfit for purpose. I'm not sure if it's too much of a stretch to say the future of the Club is hanging in the balance yet no-one seems bothered enough to ask any pertinent questions. Or at least if one is asked it's being batted away with a response like "We'll look into it" and that isn't being challenged. They need telling that that's bloody well not good enough then a follow up needs to be arranged to see what actually, (if anything) has been done.

The first paragraph is the 64m (or 200m) dollar question and whilst they have funded us to date I don't think anyone should be under any illusion that this will automatically last indefinitely, They might just get up one day and decide that funding is to cease. As to why they do it, a) because they can and b) I suspect it's because of the stigma attached to having a business go to the wall in Indian culture. Either way we can't afford to lose any more time failing under the Coventrio. The Club would appear to be at a delicate tipping point as it is.

As far as I'm aware they do put their hands in their pocket, usually by issuing share capital and the vast majority of the debt is not secured against the Club but against the holding Company Venky's London or whatever it is called. Technically the Club will probably owe the money to the Holding Company but I'm assuming there's an understanding it will never be repaid unless something extraordinary happens.

Not quite, on researching it, it was £5m plus add ons. They now have a player worth £25m plus. We'll be struggling to net £10m for Armstrong if he goes so who got the better deal?

If you have the vaccine then you're protected (in theory). So then why is it any skin off your nose or anyone else who's double jabbed whether or not anyone else has the vaccine or not? The missus and myself didn't really want the jabs but decided to have them because we didn't want any jobsworths telling us we couldn't go in a Pub or restaurant or (predictably now) a football match. We got Covid anyway, the missus who'd had two jabs was quite a bit worse than myself who'd had one jab at that point. So we feel it's an absolute waste of time from an immunisation standpoint. Having or not having the vaccine should be entirely a matter of personal choice and no-one should be looked down upon or excluded from Society because of it. Anyhow - back to season ticket sales hopefully.

Would be nice if the owners were turning the screws on Waggott and Mowbray to try and get them out without paying any compensation but the appointment of Mowbray's mate Park appears to run contrary to that.
