  1. That's fair enough but I don't think that'd be anywhere near close, especially if you then consider transfer fees and agent fees. £3m probably wouldn't cover our wages for the year.
  2. Be extremely surprised. Works out at less than 58k per week, which in turn isn't even 10 players on 6k per week.
  3. Let's lighten up the thread. Surely someone can come with a Kaminski chant to the chorus of Karma Chameleon?
  4. Keep a look out. So it's expected to happen.
  5. Or the other option - we should be targeting better than players linked to Huddersfield and Wednesday. Go for the Brighton CB instead who was on loan at Leeds and apparently worth up to £50m...
  6. The success of our academy is surely based on the either the number who can become genuine parts of the first team squad for a notable period, or who get sold for decent money. Jones was an exception, few clubs outside the big 6 will develop players through the academy who they take. Hanley, Raya - two who had decent game time for us and sold for decent amounts. Nyambe, Lenihan, Travis - essential to our first team. JRC, Buckley, Wharton - look likely to be part of the squad this season. Carter, Magloire, Grayson, Butterworth, Vale - could reasonably be around the squad this season. Can't see how anyone could expect much more.
  7. For all we know he may have told the club he isnt signing and that it's the club hoping he changes his mind. Doesnt mean he is in anyway obliged to make a statement saying he isnt going to sign. I dont think he let the club down in anyway last year, probably did better than the vast majority thought he would and owes us nothing.
  8. LET limiting free article access, so screenshot this. Rest of the article recycled yesterday's on the keeper and reiterates that Downing unlikely to sign but discussion may continue.
  9. There's also no guarantee that a) money which was available in January is still available now and b) just because we had a certain budget last year which covered the bills of the players who have left, doesnt mean we have the same budget now. As you stated earlier, it's really not as simply as 'we had that money or was spending that amount before, therefore we can now'. By the same token, we dont know if the owners have allocated a budget which allows a couple of transfer without the need to sell.
  10. I think most fans accept one or two blunders a season, if the keeper wins you a number of games or saves you points. Unfortunately for Walton his positive contributions were lacking, particularly after the restart
  11. Perhaps some things cant be 'coached' out of someone. Raya made a couple of high profile errors last season, De Gea several - and i would assume Utd have world class keeper coaches.
  12. Even with my limited gardening knowledge, weed killer doesn't remove the weed. Still requires someone to pick them out of the ground and dispose of them. I imagine doing that around the stadium will take a bit of time. I'm not defending it - it looks horrible and there should be more pride about the place. But I do try to understand why it hasn't been done, the same with ST not being on sale. someone commented people know what they're paying for - do they? Number of games? Which seat? I would say the main aspects of a ST cannot be determined and it could take more work to fix or resolve selling something you can't provide.
  13. The BW FAQs for their season tickets show exactly why they shouldn't be sold now. Full price but acknowledgment Sept games behind closed doors, so on ifollow with no other refund. If reduced capacity doesn't cover all season ticket holders, not even an indication of how it would be handled. As for the weeds - yes they look horrible BUT the club's view is likely clean it up once fans can return, rather than every few weeks or so. Save time and probably money.
  14. I would say Tosin was CB. Can't recall us playing him at RB at any point.
  15. If will devalue the sponsorship position if we've already sold the majority of replica shirts without the company's logo. the revenue from shirts, even with increased sales if there is no sponsor, would like likely not be near the amount a sponsor pays.
  16. And this is exactly why we have had so many gambling companies. We're not in a position to pick and choose
  17. Who broke it? Haven't seen any official word from the club yet
  18. Rich Sharpe has confirmed the 3 year deal had a break clause at this point, so again, hopefully the club have been working on a replacement for a number of weeks of not months
  19. Would expect the contract to be bilateral with a relatively small compensation amount to be paid by the terminating party. In terms of getting a sponsor - we're not on TV much, half empty stadium, would imagine modest shirt sales at best. Recentish history of negative press with boycotting fans. Hardly screams a great advertising vehicle.
  20. The Solicitors are local. Weren't Probiz based locally? I don't think they care where the company is based if the money is at the level they are looking for.
  21. The only time that's happened was for an advert in India wasn't it? On the plus side we may get shirts without a sponsor. On the other hand massive black hole in our finances, where even tens of thousands could be significant.
  22. To be fair, there's a difference between not having a date and not being able to tell us the date.
  23. the huddersfield promo pics make it clear how you can launch or show a kit without the players being about...
  24. Interesting tactical comments about the playing of forwards out wide. Thats not to say its worked with Gally, but Arma, yes.
  25. My bad. Unless, in a revolutionary way to use kits, we are reverting to 2 seasons ago.
