  1. Sing was much much better than I expected.
  2. After Rovers defeat away to Barnsley, in a move that saw many fans asking if he'd been drinking the same Kool-aid as convicted drink driver and not-a-dog owner Steve Kean, Coyle claimed "[a] group of fans have got their own agendas". However, we can now reveal that he was correct as the Agenda for todays game at Huddersfield has been circulated. (all credit to @ianherbert on twitter) View full article
  3. Rovers' official text service has confirmed that Pascal Chimbonda has left the club by mutual consent. You can discuss this on our forum here. View full article
  4. BRFCS have it on good authority that the much-rumoured return of Roque Santa Cruz is now a done deal. Sources at Ewood Park have confirmed to BRFCS that the deal to bring Roque Santa Cruz is complete. He will join Rovers on a half-season loan. Whilst Rovers have yet to make a formal announcement, we expect it to be confirmed once his medical is complete. You can discuss Roque's Return here. View full article

  6. The Lancashire Telegraph's Paul Plunkett has reported on Twitter that Birmingham-based journalists are now saying Blackburn target Seb Larsson won't be sold in January. View full article
  7. The club has just announced that former loanee striker Danny Graham has now signed a 2 year contract with the club. http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/danny-graham-rovers-3151282.aspx View full article

  9. Respected local journalist Paul Wheelock interrupted his holiday to announce on twitter that he believes the Scottish ex-Burnley manager Owen Coyle will be unveiled as Rover's new manager tomorrow. If true, it's unlikely to win much favour with the Rover's fans, who have taken to social media is huge number recently to voice their dissatisfaction with the Rovers' owners, which has led to #VenkysOut being one of the top 20 UK trending topics on twitter for over 24hrs. 10. The LT, among other sources, is reporting that Rovers have interviewed Man Utd U21 boss Warren Joyce for the vacant manager's job at Rovers. However, with the club reporting less than a week ago that Mike Cheston, FD and currently believed to be in charge of the day to day running of the club, is currently on holiday and with the back room staff currently seeming as depleted as the playing staff, it begs the question, WHO has is left around to interview him? 11. The GetBucks.Co.Uk website (the online arm of the Buckinghamshire Examiner newspaper) is reporting that Wycombe chairman Andrew Howard is "tight lipped" about the club's current manager taking over the manager's role at Rovers, however the language used is making many people believe that Howard is resigned to the fact he's leaving. “I have no comment to make on that. But whether with Wycombe Wanderers or in any career, people have the right to move on. We don't have the right to stand in the way of anybody, from Gareth to the players to someone in the sales team. I have enjoyed working with Gareth for some years now and we are continuing to work hard to improve our situation." said the Wycombe Chairman. Blackburn born Ainsworth, has been one of the favourites to take the Rovers job with several bookies for some time now. Is he a favourite with the fans? Have your say below in the comments or on our forums. “" “I have no comment to make on that. But whether with Wycombe Wanderers or in any career, people have the right to move on. 12. Hacienda Classical in Williamson's Park in Lancaster was a great one (as long as you didn't have to negotiate the bar queue). Hooky, Rowetta and MC Tunes along with a classical orchestra and Graeme Park & Mike Pickering on the decks, all in an amazing setting too. Need to get some more gigs booked because all I have at the moment it The Stone Roses at the Ethiad (StuWilkey of this parish came through with some tickets), the Levellers with some Ferocious Dogging in Manchester, and Jimbob off-of Carter playing a small corner in The Brudenell in Leeds. Edit - And BML, which this year is Echo & The Bunnymen, Tinie Tempah, Travis, Lightning Seeds, All Saints, Peter Hooks Joy Division Karaoke (sorry, Pete Hook & The Light), We are Scientists, Barenaked Ladies & Black Grape Edit 2 - And at least two trips to see The Hotpots
  13. I must be the only person that feels that Peter Hook and the Cash-In Karaoke (we're not Monaco, honestly) is little more that a second rate tribute act of bands he played bass in. I like hooky a lot and I really want to like this latest incarnation, but having seen them live twice and both times I couldn't help thinking it felt a lot like a half hearted cash-in. I'm seeing them again at Bingley Music Live in a few weeks (a 90s-tastic line-up with James, Cast, Ash, Super Furry Animals ... oh and Labrinth, Ella Eyre and some radio one DJs for the young 'uns, plus I get to sleep in my own bed, not a tent) so I genuinely hope it's third time lucky.
  14. I adore both Galaxy Quest and Space Balls, but they are very very different types of comedy. One is loosely a Star Trek fandom parody and the other a Star Wars parody is pretty much all they have in common. Spaceballs is typical Mel Brooks, anything for a laugh, no matter how childish and nonsensical (that's not a criticism, I love childish humour) where as Galaxy Quest is much more "what would happen if Star Trek actors had to do it all for real" where the gags are a little cleverer but not as frequent. But then Galaxy Quest has Alan Rickman being very very funny, which I just can't get enough of.
  15. I do love a good documentary, especially when it's on a conspiracy theory so tonight I wasn't let down. Soaked In Blood P.I. who was originally paid by Courtney Love to investigate Kurt Cobain's disappearance, makes it obvious he's convinced (with good reason) it wasn't suicide and that Love conspired with others to murder Cobain. The acted scenes are unnecessary and it rare digs deeper than his own evidence and the of a former police chief and a forensics expert who both admit it wasn't investigate properly, but the fact that this guy recorded every conversation so we get to hear Love and others own words add some real weight to it. I'd need to hear the other side of the story to be convinced, but there is a lot for actual evidence (rather than the usual supposition and theorising passed off as evidence that conspiracy films are often built around) in the form of recordings to go at here.
  16. Just watched Warrior on the recommendation of a few different people. The plot is flimsy, cliché ridden and telegraphed, even Nick Nolte doing his best Nick Nolte impression can't save it. To say there are threads left untied is an understatement and the number of conceits that go virtually unchallenged is unbelievable. I suspect most of it's appeal is a permanently sweaty Tom Hardy is the main attraction for most people. Even Rocky I had more storyline.
  17. Well, it's been interchangeable used for the name of a drunk folk singer and a drunk folk singer with random assorted musician. Currently it's a drunk folk singer and a banjo/harmonica player. He's really an acquired taste. Cross an Essex boy with a hippy, add some 6th form politics, copious amounts of recreational drugs and a real sense of humor. People hear folk and think either seasick steve or the Houghton weavers. Beans is more the Russell Brand meets the grumble weeds after a week long bender
  18. Leeds Uni. Seen them before at the MEN supporting Frank Turner, but they definitely work a lot better in a small venue Like the Uni Refectory. Beans on Toast on the other hand doesn't suit being this kind of support. A tight 30 mins set means no chance to make it up as he goes along, ask for suggestions, get distracted mid song and forget what he's singing, relocate the entire audience to the car park, sing the same verse twice, sing the same song twice, guilt the promoter into giving the entire audience free shots, use a chair for a stage and fall of trying to dance etc. (all genuine things I've seen at his gigs by the way). He was almost slick, which is the last thing you either expect or want.
  19. Went to see Flogging Molly (supported by the ever funny Beans on Toast) last week. Top draw as ever!.
  20. Just finished watching The Tunnel, starts off with loads of promise but utterly fails to deliver by the end.
  21. I've finally started The West Wing. Seems a very very different proposition to House of Cards (US) which I've loved so far.
  22. Sounds like a deleted scene from the brillaint Rare Exports The internet is waaaay ahead on this one http://chapmangamo.tumblr.com/post/120973975340/a-collection-of-alternate-game-of-thrones-names (BTW check out his entire tumblr, he's loads of original funny stuff like this)
