  1. It'll probably be the reason I buy a PS4. I do have on a PS1 emulator where I installed it, decided to test it worked for 5 mins and lost 4 hours. So I promised myself I wouldn't play it again until I could play through it with my lad.
  2. At least here I can make a post without a 12 year old calling me a fag for being British
  3. Don't really get much time to game any more, but I will be making time (somehow) for GTA V, it looks amazing! ... and on Kamy's suggestion, I've created a BRFCS crew (because multi-player limited to people from here is waaaaaay better than the usual smack talking idiot-fest that xbox live normally is). http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/crew/brfcs_dot_com
  4. O2 is a dreadful venue, both acoustically and practically. Other than some of the bands playing there, it has absolutely no redeeming futures. Give me The Cockpit or The Brundenell over it any time. Parking in Leeds is expensive, but £11 for 4 hours is nuts.. £3 a day means getting there for 8am and about a mile into town. £6 a day where I work. £10 if you want all day in the centre. Seeing the Mondays again in Leeds later this year, but seeing that flyer reminded me of this pic I shared on Facebook and only two people had the slightest clue who it was (real nice bloke too).
  5. Frank Turner tomorrow night. Have to admit I didn't see the appeal at first, but the last 6 month or so he's really grown on me. Seems like after missing most of their set when they supported the Roses, I'm not on for a summer of Primal Scream (Kendal Calling, Bingley Music Live and the 5 Live Big Day out).
  6. We believe that Kelvin, better known as Kelbo on here passed away early this morning. I'm sure you'll all join me in passing on our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Whilst we swapped occasional PMs and I always enjoyed his contributions, I can't claim we were close, but it's still knocked me for six that we'll never see his posts again and has brought into sharp focus that so many of the people we know so well from online communities we actually know so little about in real life. Kelvin was a top bloke, I always enjoyed chatting with him and he'll be dearly missed. His son, Ben, wasn't able to post on the forum, but he's PMed a couple of people asking them to pass on the very sad news. If anyone knows how to get in contact with his family please let me know (and Ben, if you read this, if it's easier, my email address is glenn@pegden.com).
  7. We didn't actually bury it. I suspect it's in Dawn and Bob's loft.
  8. Treated myself to a few days R&R after a few tough weeks at work (which actually involved a lot of gaming, but most of it aimed at under 13s, with the notable exception of a certain triple A shooter) and bought myself Forza Horizon. It seemed to at first to be Forza's game engine but more open and fun like Burnout Paradise, which should have just about been the perfect combo .... and it was ... for a while. It proudly told me I'd driven for 17hrs after I'd just won the final "story line" race. 17hrs! In Gran Turismo 2 at 17hrs you'd still be trying for that C licence in a 1998 Vauxhall Nova!
  9. Talking of WHP, just booked tickets for the Happy Mondays and 808 State there on Saturday.
  10. I know from twitter there are a few Rovers fans there, but who's doing t'hotpot's Christmas bash at Preston Polly in a couple of weeks?
  11. The Daily Mail this evening reported that Venky's are expected to sack Steve Kean tomorrow. This news was closely followed by an article in the Lancasire Telegraph by Andy Cryer confirming he had the same information. BRFCS believe that several local journalists had been privy to the news all weekend but had kept it under wraps in an attempt to keep Kean in the dark until the last minute. Whilst most fans won't be celebrating until it's officially confirmed by the club, it's widely anticipated the news will see a massive growth in both season tickets and match-day tickets. 12. According to Mr Kermode, Shetland is the one to be at
  13. Top weekend (it's taken me a full week to recover). Shed 7 were excellent, James great but the set list was a little self-indulgent, Feeder and Maximo Park was as good as I expected (I still maintain My Velocity sounds like a Carter USM cover). Carpets were a little nostalgic but kinda lacked a little magic. Also the Hotpots were on top form and it was great seeing people's reactions to hearing them the first time although one of the most surreal moments was being in Chai Wallahs watching 90s dub/reggae band DreadZone, with Bernard from the Hotpots throwing shapes on a table next to me! Really glad I opted for Utah Saint's DJ set over Dizzee as it was mental! Likewise DJ Yoda and the Trans Siberian March band were equal parts of genius and insanity. Stu WIlky introduced me to Beans on Toast who is brilliant and I stumbled across Mundo Jazz who is beautifully silly (and band who can pull off Latino jazz songs about Quincy ME gets my vote).Saw some great comedy too, Mik Artistik is worth checking out as is Colin Manford (Jason's 'lil brother). A few vids from Kendal Mundo Jazz (not a KC) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cz5XHAyv3g
  14. Kendal Calling tomorrow. See you in the fields!
  15. I thought the suit an tie look really suited Oz, though it did mean he had a scary resemblance to Sean Locke!
  16. Faecbook event for it - http://www.facebook.com/events/242122799240332/ Please show if you're coming (to give Dawn an idea on numbers) and advertise, shout, share it whatever so we can get as many people as possible aware of it.
  17. You should see the hoops Dawn is having to jump through. Event Planning Statements, Risk Assessment Forms, Public Liability Insurance, finding stewards & certificated first aiders (ideally CRB-cleared ones). You'd think we were organising the Notting Hill Carnival, not walking between two pubs. ... and I think everyone involved thinks this should have happened in Brig, in fact this was born from us wanting to put a BRFCS float in the Brig one, but after Dawn spoke (several times) to various people involved with organising previous Brig ones it was obvious it was was never going to happen again (despite pressuring, cajoling and arm twisting, even offering Brig-based alternatives) and Dawn wasn't prepared to let the tradition die entirely. Hence plan B.
  18. We had a similar shambles at the bar. Missed the end of the wailers and most of primal scream queening for a beer, by the time I got to about 3 rows away the crush was so bad, the only way out was over the bar .... and you can imagine how then ended up! Still 2hrs later, it was all forgotten having seen probably the most enjoyable live performance ever .... And how can anyone complain about Browns singing, could anyone hear him over the crowd?
  19. I'm just there with my wife and one of two old school mates. Never seem Madness live, but I've seen a Madness cover fan band play to about 3000!
  20. Only a few hours to the Stone Roses!
  21. Most promissing game from E3 for me was Watch dogs Either watch the full 15 minute intro / press conference or just skip to the 5 min gameplay trailer
