  1. Tickets for Kendall Calling, Bingley & The Roses at Heaton Park Sorted Still, the night I'm most looking forward to is Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine supported by CUD and Clinton USM playing the after show! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JZSFW6oM58
  2. Oooh, we should swap notes in private. The company I work for has used our tech in LEGO games (though more MMO kinda stuff than console). Loving Diablo 3 by the way. Well, it's way too easy on normal and it's essentially D2, but prettier and less annoying ..... but that's no bad thing. Not really had the time to get that far into it yet though.

Hi Everyone, I'm Glenn and I've been helping run the site one way or another since the late 90s. In many people's eye I'm a "johnny come lately" fan (I didn't start watching Rovers until the mid 90s) despite marrying an Accrington lass. Despite now living in Leeds, I'm an ST holder, with a fairly good away attendance record (and European game travel record) and tend to get involved with organising stuff I don't have time for (BRFCS, BRISA, Fans Forum). I helped organise the fans vs fans games in Turkey and Austria and was one of the Pune 9. I'm rapidly approaching 40, have a taste for real ale and I'm a bit of a geek.
  4. Welcome to BRFCS. The idea with this section of the forums is for members to make a quick introductory post about themselves, before being able to post on the main forum. It's mandatory for new members and whilst optional for existing members, they are strongly encouraged to do so. Whilst we're aware that people can just make up any old nonsense, we like to think of this site as a community and this is just one way of helping the community get to know each other.
  5. If you don't get a better offer, I'd love to take them off your hands simply to scan them in for the history section of the site (with the original publishers permission obviously). The only downside is for obvious reasons, getting them by the nine may be an issue. I assume all this kind of stuff had been lost years ago (I've been talking to Dan about trying to get early editions of 4K holes) so I think having a digital copy of it is really important.
  6. [caption id=attachment_2408" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Image courtesy of cn174][/caption]Just days before a crunch game against Arsenal with us only on a single point and fans planning protests, Steve Kean gives an amazing, candid exclusive interview in which he discusses everything from Venky's to Myles Anderson, his regular trips to Pune and how he took over from Sam, and he even gives his thoughts on the upcoming protest. 8. In a sport known for attracting some insane people, Jed Corliss' wingsuit stuff is some of the most insane stuff I've ever seen.

    Flags?

Most of the big ones you see at games are made by http://www.barmyflags.co.uk BRFCS have had 2 made by them and they are cracking quality, I can't recommend them highly enough. The bloke even drove it from Oldham to Leeds when the company we originally ordered it from (who subbed it to BarmyFlags without telling us) said it wouldn't be ready in time for us to take to Turkey as promised, but Barmy felt they couldn't let us down like that. Top Guys. Very impressed.
  10. Managed to find a few spare hours to check out LA Noir, not very far in yet, but loving it so far.
  11. The club's official website has just announced a change to the pre-season fixtures. Due to the pitch not being ready, the game at Accrington Stanley has been cancelled. However, Rovers will now play Stanley at Morecambe's Globe Arena instead, on the same day as they play Morecambe themselves. The change will be met with mixed feelings. Whilst Stanley is much closer for many fans, the change does mean that those fans intending to do both no longer have to drive straight from one ground to the other with very little time for delays. We're still awaiting official confirmation on ticket prices. The club has stated this will be a two-for-one deal with it being possible to watch both games on a single ticket. View full article
  12. Agreed. We didn't always share the same outlook on things, but I miss your posts.

  13. I want Michael Bay to tackle Brief Encounter (if only to blow up Carnforth Railway Station)
  14. That trick works on a lot of sites (including this one), the topic in the URL isn't actually used to determine the page (that the number at the end) it's simply there to make the pages rank better in google.
  15. I still haven't seen Apocalypse Now, let alone something from 3 or 4 years ago I agree, bud sadly it's on it's way (and I'd imagine very very toned down, I'll wager the scenes with the probation officer will be softened a lot)
  16. I watched The girl with the dragon tattoo last night and it was excellent. It's quite a hard watch at times (it's no Saturday night popcorn movie) but worth the effort. I'd advise you to get the original Swedish version now, before the forthcoming hollywood remake.
  17. This is how guided tours should be done (audio is a bit quiet on part 1 and part 2 is probably the funniest)
  18. Watched The Social Network at the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised how very good it was. It's a great courtroom drama where the fact it's about facebook is almost entirely irrelevant, it could just have easily been about any fictional business venture started by a college kid and still been as good.
  19. I think that's the point of the film, you don't see four suicide bombers, you see four normal* lads with a daft idea in their heads (and unlike Kermode, I think it's important that it's never tries explain where their belief in "Rubber Dinghy Rapids" comes from). Just every day guys that think they can take a short cut to something good. (Well, by normal I mean like lads you've come across, they all abnormally stupid in their own way).
  20. I found it brilliant. One of the best films I've seen in recent years. I understand why some people feel uncomfortable with the fact that such a delicate subject matter is handled through comedy, but if you stop asking yourself "is it ok for me to find this funny" then it's fantastic. That's not to say it's "Carry On Suicide Bombing", it's a very dark, it'll tug on your heart strings, it may even make you think about situations you've never stopped to consider before and it does feel odd that you can be holding back tears of sadness in one scene, then holding back tears of laughter he next. The Trailer (NSFW - contains naughty words) Kermode (the only movie reviewwer worth giving a damn about) reviews it and tries to explain the comedy/tragedy tightrope it walks.
  21. Why you should always pay your web designer / developer (or of you're going to rip them off, make sure you've changed the passwords) http://bit.ly/fnN8gR
  22. At today's pre-match press conference Steve Kean confirmed he expects Nzonzi and Grella to rejoin the squad after injury and Dunny's knock at Chelsea isn't keeping him out either. It was also confirmed new boy Jermaine Jones should be in the squad to face West Brom, too. Our preview of the game and pre/post-match discussion of the game is here. View full article
  23. I loved it. Sure, it's an unashamed tribute to the original, but that was a shallow, weak plotted Disney film too. It didn't stop it being awesome. .... and wasn't the whole point of the 2D/3D that the "real world" was shot as 2D and inside the machine as 3D ? It certainly wasn't the Harry Potter style "we've post-processrf this next scene in 3D, put your glasses on now".
  24. Link to Rovers.co.uk The Official Rovers Website is reporting that Steve Kean has been appointed as Rovers manager until the end of the season. View full article
