  1. I just love test cricket, especially the ashes series. I hope we get the weather at Old Trafford and I presume the fans will be up for it like the Yorkies today.,
  2. Brook obviously thinks Root is batting like a rabbit in the headlights by keeping the strike.
  3. How many are doing the same as me ? Watching on TV with commentary on TMS.
  4. Michael Vaughan is the new Boycott, his criticism of Bairstow, Root or Brook is minimal. They’ve been a let down, say it as it is. Boycott is a total hypocrite telling us that Yarkshire is Gods own country but not good enough for him to live there. I watched a documentary the other day where Vaughan said his overriding ambition when he started was to play for the county of his birth and how proud he was to achieve that. Well tell me Michael, geography isn’t your strong point because where I’m standing, Manchester has never been in Yorkshire.
  5. Or a stick of rhubarb as someone was always saying.
  6. Maybe that’s the end of Warner as a test player
  7. They are republicans and want all ties with the Motherland axed.
  8. Exactly what I posted earlier on here. If Broad comes in first ball at Headingley and whips off the bails without giving prior warning then, although within the laws, it is unsportsmanlike. I bet the Aussies would have something to say then.
  9. Well I still love watching test cricket and above all else, ashes tests both here and Oz.
  10. Some will be calling to ban the Barmy Army next! Having been to every Australian test ground I can see why the Barmy Army was formed, strength in numbers against the very partizan Aussies. Nothing wrong with that but plenty stepped over the line. The football style fans referred to by some on here didn’t start in this country.
  11. On my many trips to Australia I’ve never had a problem with any Aussie, but it seems that Australians over here continually go on about whinging poms. That should be turned round to whinging diggers after yesterdays debacle in the long room. If they thought that welcome was bad, wait for the one they’ll get from the west stand at Headingley. The MCC need to grow some as well, grovelling to the Aussies just like the did after the Adelaide test in 1933. Please don’t tell me it doesn’t matter because it was a long time ago, they bring it up all the time in Australia.
  12. I agree that results show that they are a better team than us, and also we should “fight fire with fire”. I thought the correct thing for Carey to have done was to warn Bairstow that if he kept walking out of his ground then he would stump him. Obviously the Aussies didn’t think that was required, fair enough. So when we come to the next test and Australia bat, Englands opening bowler runs in, and whips off the bails thereby stumping the backing up non striker, also not giving a prior warning. It’s not in the spirit of the game but it is allowed in the laws of the game. Australia would have no complaints I presume. That is certainly fighting fire with fire.
  13. Smith should have never been anywhere near a test match since sandpapergate.
  14. “Tom Finney would have been great in any team, in any match and in any age, even if he had been wearing an overcoat.” Bill Shankly Former PNE Player and Liverpool Manager
  15. I’ve got some Groats, are they useable.
